I’ve name changed for this. I am due in hospital tomorrow for a colposcopy because of periods being all over the place. Just decided to do a pregnancy test just to be on the safe side.
DH and I were told earlier this year it was very unlikely we could conceive due to my age and low AMH levels.

Was not expecting this. I’m not going nuts am I? Is this positive? Is there any way it could be wrong?

DH is at work & I can’t talk to him for a couple of hours. Am shaking.

Is this positive?!

Congratulations OP ! A lot of strangers on the internet are very happy for you right now- what wonderful news and an uplifting thread !
I had my second DC at 41 after thinking it would never happen for us with the first. No one ever mentioned my age during pregnancy really so don't worry at all about that.

What a lovely thread! Thrilled for you, OP, and such a lovely reminder that even when something is unlikely it can still happen. Flowers rather than Gin to a safe and healthy pregnancy :)

@Omgwhatthehell

Pregnancy vitamins have been ordered and I've just bought a digital test from Amazon which will be delivered tomorrow. It should tell me roughly how many weeks along I am.

Just as a popped to the loo to do the first test at lunch time I was adding to the trolley for our online Christmas grocery shop. So I've taken the camembert and pate out of the trolley as well as my favourite wine!

I've got my work's Christmas party and catch up's with friends over the next few weeks so am thinking of ways I can hide that I'm not drinking.

When DH comes home tonight I'm going to tell him he is now in charge of doing the cat's litter tray Grin.

This is crazy.

Ah, what lovely news! Congratulations OP!!

DH is at work late on Wednesday and Thursday nights so I’m still here trying to process this. I’m reading all of your lovely comments. Thank you!

This is the third test I did this afternoon. DH said “I’m not a doctor but I’m pretty sure that’s positive” Grin

Will let you know how we go tomorrow with the number of weeks one.

Is this positive?!

Best thread ever. Please share photos of the other tests you do - so so excited for you despite not knowing you! What a great feeling / congratulations!!!!!!

SuperApple · 01/12/2021 20:39

Congratulations OP!!! Wonderful news. I'm shedding a little happy tear.
Almost exactly this time 2 years ago, I'd been feeling squiffy for ages so did a Pg test just to rule it out. I'd been told I'd need IVF to have children and, at 36, I was reconciled like you.
Well, I swear the test turned positive before the pee even touched it. And then a private scan confirmed I was nine weeks pregnant!!
I hid the non-drinking by saying I was detoxing before Xmas. Then I feigned a hangover/headache everytime I was offered a drink over Xmas. Nobody ever expected I was pg so I somehow blagged it 😬
Also - we have a 2 bed and it's fine - they really don't take up much space for first few years!

Many many congratulations. What wonderful news.

Emmelina · 01/12/2021 20:29

This is so so wonderful! The best early Christmas present! Congratulations ☺️

Stickystickystick · 01/12/2021 20:28

What a lovely thread. Don't forget to add on 2 weeks to the number of Weeks the test says. The test will give you weeks from conception but when midwives work it out the number of weeks it is calculated from first day of last period. So so happy for you

RatsolutelyFabulous · 01/12/2021 20:26

Massive congratulations to you and your DH, so happy for you both!!!

ErinAoife · 01/12/2021 20:26

Congratulations. Delighted for you and your husband.

squee123 · 01/12/2021 20:25

Just don't be worried if the weeks indicator seems weird. They're really inaccurate, lots of people never get the 3+ weeks despite having healthy pregnancies. Also you have to add two weeks on to work out how far along you are as they date from conception not the first day of your period.

Best excuse for not drinking is a terrible hangover from an imaginary night before. Don't use the antibiotics excuse.

Congratulations again!

Hodl · 01/12/2021 20:23

Huge congrats op 😊
What a lovely thread, wishing you a very happy and healthy pregnancy!
