Help me place this actor??

I saw him on a train. Can’t for the life of me remember who he is.

He’s a British tv actor, probably in his 50s or early 60s. Grey hair, used to be blonde. Piercing blue eyes. Often plays a hero/ love interest type role.

a bit like Greg wise but shorter!

I feel sure he was in a Sunday night drama or a soap or something but I can’t find him online! It’s driving me mad!

Ooh he was in Jilly Coopers "Riders" but he's tall .
DH swears he saw him swooping past us in a DrizaBone coat in Harrods (or similar) I'm not sure it was him. (This was years ago)

Google tells me he's 6'1!

No idea but hopefully he'll get famous enough for you to get there in the end OP.

I'm not great with faces and was on a plane back in 2004 where a guy was walking round looking very pleased with himself like he might be famous but I couldn't place him. Took a good 5 years before appeared on The Good Wife and I finally realised it was Alan Cumming Grin
