I saw him on a train. Can’t for the life of me remember who he is.

He’s a British tv actor, probably in his 50s or early 60s. Grey hair, used to be blonde. Piercing blue eyes. Often plays a hero/ love interest type role.

a bit like Greg wise but shorter!

I feel sure he was in a Sunday night drama or a soap or something but I can’t find him online! It’s driving me mad!

@70isaLimitNotaTarget

I had no clue who Greg Wise was but I googled and he looks like

Denis Lawson Is it him?

I read Les Dawson... need new glasses.

I'd have said James Wilby but he's been ruled out

DedalusBloom · 29/10/2021 07:57

Stephen Graham? He's pretty short. Although Liverpudlian.

@balloonsintrees - what???? How did I not know this? I need to get hold of a ticket. For artistic enhancement of my life, obviously.Grin

It's Julian Norton I reckon, the Yorkshire Vet.

Yorkshire, Leeds accent, small, possibly on an advert?

😃

BringMeTea · 29/10/2021 07:33

Look, OP, for the love of God if you have a sudden realization that it was the bloke who delivers from Amazon, just pick any of these suggestions and lie. The living ones obvs. Cheers.

Ben Daniels?

todaysdilemma · 29/10/2021 07:10

Dean Gaffney is 5ft5 with bum chin and looks a bit older than his 48. Not northern though but maybe he did a role with that accent once?

It's incredible how difficult it is to narrow it down to a 5 ft 5, blonde/grey, tousled hair, rugged, posh northern actor over 60 who looks a bit like mark bonnar and Daniel Craig, who was a lead character in an ITV drama once.

How is google not helping us solve it!

Blueuggboots · 29/10/2021 06:59

Sorry, Luke Evans isn't that old but he's bloody lovely.

minisoksmakehardwork · 29/10/2021 06:57

James McAvoy....

Robert Bathurst immediately sprung to mind (Cold Feet, Downton Abbey, loads of other stuff) but he is tall.

Although doesn't fit the age demographic.

minisoksmakehardwork · 29/10/2021 06:50

Missed the height. James Macavoy then. With his beard he appears to have a cleft chin but not always and has blue eyes.

CrazyTimesAreOccurring · 29/10/2021 06:43

@minisoksmakehardwork

Martin Clunes or Trevor Eve were the only 2 I can think of.
Yes both known to be about the 5ft 5 mark OP said about 🤔😂

Capferret · 29/10/2021 06:22

My dh was convinced that Greg Wise was Denis Lawson when Strictly began this series.

CrazyTimesAreOccurring · 29/10/2021 01:01
