Help me place this actor??

I saw him on a train. Can’t for the life of me remember who he is.

He’s a British tv actor, probably in his 50s or early 60s. Grey hair, used to be blonde. Piercing blue eyes. Often plays a hero/ love interest type role.

a bit like Greg wise but shorter!

I feel sure he was in a Sunday night drama or a soap or something but I can’t find him online! It’s driving me mad!

Dean Gaffney is 5ft5 with bum chin and looks a bit older than his 48. Not northern though but maybe he did a role with that accent once?
Could that baby look any more concerned about being held by Dean gaffney?? Grin

It's incredible how difficult it is to narrow it down to a 5 ft 5, blonde/grey, tousled hair, rugged, posh northern actor over 60 who looks a bit like mark bonnar and Daniel Craig, who was a lead character in an ITV drama once.
Grin Don’t forget drinking a tumbler of white wine.

My favourite suggestion was 83-year-old Malibu-dwelling Oscar-winning teetotal wispy white-haired/balding Welsh actor Anthony Hopkins, 5’9”.
