Help me place this actor??

I saw him on a train. Can’t for the life of me remember who he is.

He’s a British tv actor, probably in his 50s or early 60s. Grey hair, used to be blonde. Piercing blue eyes. Often plays a hero/ love interest type role.

a bit like Greg wise but shorter!

I feel sure he was in a Sunday night drama or a soap or something but I can’t find him online! It’s driving me mad!

Oh how about Rufus Sewell - stunning blue eyes, not blond though and probably too posh.
He doesn't have blue eyes; they're green/brown/hazel. Unusual and very beautiful.

Haven’t read through all the suggestions but could it be Gary Mavers who played Dr Andrew Attwood in Peak Practice? Have seen a publicity shot of him with folded arms in front of Yorkshire countryside but don’t know how to add it here!

Toby Stephens. Now 52. Has blue eyes, I think. Had lovely red hair when younger, probably going grey now. Played Mr Rochester in Wuthering Heights, so has been seen with moors in the background. Under 6'.
