We pay a company to clean our bins once a month on bin day. I’m not usually home when they come, but I’m off work today And happened to be in the kitchen. I watched my next door neighbour wait until the cleaner left, take the house number sticker off my bin and put it on his, then swap our bin for his so he had the cleaned bin and I had a non-cleaned one.

He was back in his house before I had time to contain the dog and go outside but now DH is home, WIBU to go round and ask for my bin back??

Contain the dog? You should've taken it with you! I'd name and shame the prat on social media too. If this is the type of person he is, others should be warned!

It’s a very long time since a thread on MN has made me properly lol, @JackieWeaversAuthorityHere … in fact, I’d given up on it happening again, as the place seems to have changed a lot in the past couple of years. Your posts did, though, and I salute the triumphal return of your bin and your heroic DH!

I wonder if it's too late for the cleaning company to post an invoice for a few week's cleaning as they've had a complaint from a customer and after checking with their workers, they think this has happened before?

I’d have a word with the bin cleaners aswell and ask they leave the bin i your garden if your not in just explain the situation or if you have a ring doorbell thing have it pointed at the bins. Cheeky sod and his wife tryin to talk there way out of it. God only knows how many times he’s did this and at £9 a pop he could owe you a good bit. Bet he can’t count on your vote lol
