In my case a friend of mine took a picture of a bunch of tissues on her bedside table and posted it onto FB with the caption ‘The sign of a good night. I’m shagged’.

Also on Facebook - guy posts a picture of his back, covers in scratches with the caption ‘no wonder she’s pregnant’

@Talkwhilstyouwalk

Another good one.....

Any recommendations for a good cleaner?

Seen this quite a few times. Translates as 'Get me, I can afford a cleaner.'

Nope. Can’t see it.

Surely just means would rather have a recommended professional trustworthy cleaner coming into their home than a total stranger?

I have to laugh at the sportsman who got caught with his pants down was the talk of the town HE posted on mothersday - look at best wife and best mother I’m so lucky to have her.

Bloody right you are mate but why not just tell her to her face when everyone knows you are a cheating wanker who didn’t apprecaite her enough to stay faithful🤷‍♀️

emmathedilemma · 11/05/2021 19:27

I'm a member of a running group on Facebook with over 12,000 members. It's meant to be for chat about races, events, local routes and advice but some people feel the need to post nearly every day when they've been for a run......firstly, no one cares, and secondly what if everyone in the group did this?

Guavafish · 11/05/2021 19:16

Ppl who post every single thing about their child! First bath time, first banana, first hair cut, first time swimming, first doctors appointment and so on and so on! Just stop people! No one cares... had to mute a few FB friends for that reason

Carpedimum · 11/05/2021 19:14

That’s a good idea @wellstopdoingitthen I’ll do the same.

burtiebotts · 11/05/2021 19:12

My mum posted on FB a blow by blow breakdown of her recovery from a prolapse repair operation.

XenoBitch · 11/05/2021 19:12

A friend was admitted to hospital with a dodgy appendix. His FB was constant updates about his blood pressure etc, pictures of drips, cannulas. After he was operated on, it was pictures of every meal he had, and hourly updates about his urine and stool output.
I met up with him about a week after he got home and he still had his hospital ID band on. He said he was wearing it as a reminder of his time there. I do think he genuinely enjoyed being in hospital.

wellstopdoingitthen · 11/05/2021 19:11

@Carpedimum

I can empathise with many of these posts & its made me think that I need to leave FB, but it is useful for some of the groups I’m in.

I have muted all my FB but have kept up with groups I'm in for particular interests (health condition, car group & a couple of uni ones). I can't tell you how much better I feel. It's quite liberating. I was getting fed up with being criticised for not liking or commenting on stuff. I've told everyone I'm giving FB a rest.

PIKNIK20 · 11/05/2021 19:10

I am just wondering why oh why do people not just unfriend those people, block them or simply make intelligent, ironic funny comments about those posts that would (hopefully) carry the message that nobody gives the AF about what they eat, how the birthing goes hour by hour, etc?

Bertiebiscuit · 11/05/2021 19:08

Utterly gross - I can't imagine what drives folk to do this type of thing - there must be something lacking in their sex lives for them to feel the need to tell the world - really sad

wellstopdoingitthen · 11/05/2021 18:57

@36degrees

Not even on social media, I used to work with a woman who had several framed photos of herself in a bikini on her desk.
I have a friend who has huge naked framed photos of herself all around her house. It's her house so fine I guess, just a bit off putting when I've stayed in her spare room & awake to her 38DDs looking at me! Thank goodness she's not on FB.
SaltyAF · 11/05/2021 18:56

No @Poorlykitten I just think it's poor form to judge a bereaved or ill person on their 'odd choice' or their means of sharing 'upsetting' news. Those are judgemental words.

Bananabuddy3 · 11/05/2021 18:56

I have an FB acquaintance who likes to announce on special event days whether she and her partner have had sex. Status’s such as “Such a great Christmas! Great food, great presents topped off with great sex” and “Great bank holiday weekend at home! Snuggles in bed, sex and a load of Easter eggs, I’m a happy girl” - funnily enough it never gets her much attention though - I just checked the last couple of times she mentioned shaving sex and she never gets many likes or any comments when she does. Total oversharing, why do people want to know?

Contents of a baby’s nappy. Too much. May be considered amusing to you but I do not want t9 see a baby’s explosion.

Poorly children. I’ve lost count of how many parent friends take pictures of their child covered in chicken pox or just snuggled up in pjs looking pale and sleepy and clearly unwell. It’s not fair on them.

Bib1234 · 11/05/2021 18:54

I have a ‘friend’ who shares literally every second of her and her kids day... every second in her story and then every half hour on her actual page - I know what her kids say, do, eat etc
I also know her life is far from the bed of roses she portrays and I think she feels she has to prove something

Passenger42 · 11/05/2021 18:53

You can definitely gauge the state of someone’s mental health via Facebook, it’s just sad.

maryjosephandtheweedonkey · 11/05/2021 18:52

I saw a joke picture of a wall sticker but instead of a cheesy inspirational quote it said ‘nuffin but snakes round ere just me and the kids from now on’ really tickled me 🤣

Poorlykitten · 11/05/2021 18:46

@SaltyAF I totally disagree, how can I be called judgey when I absolutely said it was a shock but I ‘understood why she did it’ and that ‘everyone handles things differently’...?? However, the facts are that this is the way everybody found out, including her sister and Aunt ( her mother was already passed) so it was fairly shocking/upsetting at the time for everyone involved to read first thing in the morning. Even a group message might have worked better.
Did you just want to leap down someone’s throat about something, anything?..because, after all, this is Mumsnet.

Bracknellite · 11/05/2021 18:46

@GravityFalls

I like a drink and am not uptight about alcohol- but if EVERY Facebook post you ever make is about what you’re drinking or what pub you’re at, and it’s daily (not just every weekend), it doesn’t matter if it’s craft beer or artisan gin - you’re an alcoholic!
Yep, when I used to do this, I definitely was one.
Icancelledthecheque · 11/05/2021 18:45

A friend with endometriosis who describes her bleeding in detail every couple of weeks.

A friend with crohns who enjoys describing her bowel movements on a regular basis.

There’s a special place in hell for these people!

DecorChange · 11/05/2021 18:43

Just seen one. Friends posted a picture saying never judge a single mum they are strong blah blah. Other friend commented and no bad at shagging tagging her bf

LittleLadyCece · 11/05/2021 18:35

Not on FB but I'll never forget the day when I was coming home from work and an older lady sat down next to me. We got chatting all was fine until she then decided to tell me all about her cystitis and how much trouble it has been causing her on and off for months. How the doctor wasn't really doing much for her. I'd literally just met the woman I was effectively a stranger! Shock

Babysharkdododododododododod · 11/05/2021 18:33

“Just called 999 for my baby, we are being blue lighted to hospital”

I’ll never forget that one, she no longer has custody of the child.

Carpedimum · 11/05/2021 18:28

I can empathise with many of these posts & its made me think that I need to leave FB, but it is useful for some of the groups I’m in.
The posts that used to wind me up good & proper, were by my DS’s father who used to visit DS once in a blue moon, take him for tea & post pics on FB with ‘with my boy...’ captions, which were an invite for all his deluded mates to write ‘top dad’ ‘chip off the ol’ block’ ‘he’s so handsome like his dad’ ‘such a good daddy’ ‘your boy is lucky to have you’ 🤮 The reality was far from that, but it made it look convincing that he was the doting & devoted dad! It made me cynical about any FB post.

Glitterblue · 11/05/2021 18:27

One of the school mums keeps posting photos of her and her new boyfriend side by side in bed, clearly naked under the duvet. I don't need to see that and then see her in the playground the next day!

Also one of my friends keeps posting every little detail of her very frequent break ups with her boyfriend. They break up at least once a month and are never getting back together again.

Hoppinggreen · 11/05/2021 18:26

DD says her cousin has been sharing post sex bed photos on insta since she was 16

ArrrMeHearties · 11/05/2021 18:26

Ewwwwww🤢🤢🤢
