to think it's really cheeky to invite someone to a BBQ then expect them to bring...

...The BBQ!?

We were invited last week to a friends today for a BBQ. They called this morning asking to borrow our BBQ, we assumed there's had broken or the one they ordered hadn't arrived etc - but no. They don't have one. So we suggested they come to ours and bring some of the stuff they'd bought as our BBQ is very heavy and large (won't fit in the car without removing the child seats and lying all seats flat) but it turns out, that not only did they want us to bring our BBQ, they wanted us to leave it at theirs as they are having other friends this evening.

Was IBU to say no? That I didn't want to take our large BBQ and gas bottle to their house and leave it with them?

Oh Glenda don’t stop.. this is priceless

PussGirl · 13/04/2021 17:00

Venison would be awful on a BBQ - too lean - fattier meat is better

And of course it's deer, but we all know that Smile

GlendaPickle · 13/04/2021 16:57

Venison is not very deer

PussGirl · 13/04/2021 16:54

Is the scuba equipment back yet?

Smile
BottleFlipper · 13/04/2021 16:54

Glenda would unplug your life support to charge her phone when it's on 90%.

@GlendaPickle

Thanks for the comments.

I am just outing the Walter Mitty attention bbq scuba 🤿 diver keyboard warrior.

I don’t think I am done anything wrong.

😂😂😂

CFers are this brassy, folks.

You haven't outed anything but yourself as, well, I'll let the rest of them say it again.

Only a complete and total CFer would arrange two BBQs and then think, 'I'll ring Dot and tell her to bring her best BBQ over, set it up, go home, come back, fuck off, then come back again to get it. No, I don't want that poxy charcoal one, it's Weber or nowt'.

It sounds like a story line from the BBC sitcom Two Doors Down.

The cheeky buggers should get there own or make sandwiches for their mates.

@Bananabuddy3

I’ve never considered asking people round for a bbq, purely for the reason that I don’t own one!

If you don’t have a bbq, you cook food in the oven, not ask someone to bring an actual bbq and expect to keep it.

Having said that, someone of FB that I know (though haven’t seen for years) has been asking around if anyone fancies lending them a hot tub for “weekends over the summer” because their “family would love one but they’re so expensive” and “We would only need it on weekends because of work and school”. Not quite sure what they think everyone else does over the week....

A fucking hot tub? How are they expecting that to be delivered? Confused

Also, unless you have a log-fired one, don’t they need connecting up to the electrics or something? I don’t think you just run an extension cord out of the kitchen window, do you?

CoolCatTaco · 13/04/2021 16:35

Glenda are you BBQ bitch or not? You sound like you're had too much Pimms...

HeyDemonsItsYaGirl · 13/04/2021 16:31

I'm another of the OP's friends and I can confirm she only brings top quality meat to BBQs. Last time it was venison hand-smoked by blind nuns. Glenda is just annoyed because her husband once said OP was a top bird.

Well if this wasn’t batshit enough to start, along comes Glenda pretending to know the op...😂
Yeah what are the chances? Hmm
Bargebill19 · 13/04/2021 16:08

Wouldn’t worry about recycling xmas gifts @GlendaPickle, you are definitely the xmas gift which keeps on giving.

Hark, is that the sound of someone digging away when they really should have stopped?

Probably with a borrowed spade too.

osbertthesyrianhamster · 13/04/2021 16:05

This is just awesome! Dot, please tell us when your h returns with your stuff. Only, I wouldn't trust the cylinder without testing, they may have bored holes in it.

@dotdashdashdash you’ve made my day. This is the funniest thread I’ve read in ages.

@GlendaPickle there have been over 350 comments saying you behaved like a dick. You then made yourself look more foolish by throwing out insults. Get a grip and recognise you are in the wrong.

osbertthesyrianhamster · 13/04/2021 15:59

Buy your own BBQ, Glenda! And scuba gear and cookware! It's rubbish, cheap and nasty to borrow other people's! And shag your own husband. 😂😂😂

harknesswitch · 13/04/2021 15:55

Everyone recycles Christmas presents you utter loon
