I've put privacy film on the front room windows and he can't watch the world go by any more. He's sulking.

I got in from work last night and asked if he needed feeding. DH said no I’ve fed him. Cat couldn’t believe I’d accept DH’s lies.

This morning, apparently I was unreasonable to shout his name and jump when he stomped on my bladder when I was just waking up.

Chemenger · 06/04/2021 09:00

I wouldn’t give her a bite of my pear. There was something on the mantelpiece which stopped her jumping on to it to stare at the dreamies bag until someone cracks and gives her some. I was punished by her sleeping on top of me again. She weight almost nothing normally but when she plants herself on me in bed she increases her weight somehow to about five stone.

I’m awake with dd and I haven’t fed catface yet. She’s in dds room with me meowing for her breakfast. And keeping Dd awake.

Catface is adamant she’s absolutely going to starve this time. Honest. She is. Definetly.

@Toddlerteaplease

I didn't share my chicken with them. They don't like chicken!
I picked up a takeaway roast from local pub yesterday to take over to my mum as a treat. Her cat sat and stared at me the whole time, proper big, unflinching, hypnotist eyes.

Finally caved and broke off a tiny piece to put on the floor for her - she stalked off in disgust 😂

Furries · 06/04/2021 01:37

@purrswhileheeats - it sums him up perfectly, he really is a joker. Pictures needed of your comedian please!

Furries · 06/04/2021 01:36

@silkies - ha, you’re right. Funnily enough, one of my nicknames for him is Mr Floofy (not a spelling mistake!)

QueenPaw · 05/04/2021 22:28

I won't let him out now, in the dark to play
Hmm
He's alternating gazing miserably at the window and howling at me I'm watching TV with subtitles

ILikeTheWineNotTheLabel · 05/04/2021 22:13

Not opening the door to let him out into the snow, only for him to turn tail in high dudgeon when he feels the cold air hit his nose and he decides his fluffy bed is a better option.

coastergirl · 05/04/2021 20:21

@LaurieSchafferIsAllBitterNow she's plotting your demise. The purring is all a cover.

purrswhileheeats · 05/04/2021 17:23

Oh @Furries he's a babe, that face! I love your description as a comedian - Kloppy has the same demeanour but I couldn't find the right word!

Silkiescat · 05/04/2021 16:50

He is so beautiful Furries and he is right you do need to control the weather, that magnificient fluff really shouldn't get wet. Easter Grin

Furries · 05/04/2021 10:22

Oops, forgot photos!

Furries · 05/04/2021 10:20

@Silkiescat - thank you, he was definitely my soul cat, not been an easy year (he was PTS 5 days before lockdown 1).

I still have this little cuties, his younger brother. He’s a total comedian and always makes me laugh. His main complaint with me is that, after 11 years, I still haven’t mastered control of the weather - he’s very vocal about my failing in this regard 🤣

LaurieSchafferIsAllBitterNow · 05/04/2021 08:40

I am very scared...very very scared.

I had to clip QueenofAllCats claws yesterday. Her claws grow so fast and a couple of them will grow into her precious toebeans if they don't get snipped, just in case anyone thinks I am a mad CatManicurist with nothing better to do with my time.

I was braced (sleeves up, specs off, nail clips at the ready, treat concealed in pocket) and had recruited ds2, her favourite as assistant, he was braced (heavyweight hoody on, sleeves pulled down to protect arms, firm grip under cat armpits and a decent hold of back feet)
DH was sitting on the sofa pretending not to be involved at all to avoid any punishments!

DS2 hoiked gently enticed her out of the basket in the sunny windowsill and she purred the whole time, presented her little perfect toebeans for me to snip her claws like a rich old lady having a manicure... and then graciously accepted a sizeable amount of poached chicken from me

Usually she fights like a demon no matter who holds her and then excommunicates the lot of us for at least a week. It's a genuine Easter Miracle.

Silkiescat · 05/04/2021 04:19

My Mum was desperate too but she has always remained top of Silkiecat's most hated list and still remains there at 16 years old. She is hissed at, swiped at and even a small dog in the house have been more tolerated by Silkiecat who just sat and watched it. Not sure why, maybe as she has a cat though Silkiecat also hates not being the centre of attention from us. We thought she maybe ill a year ago as she complained so much in the night (basically wants three meals at night and staff on call and refuses to move from dining room) but £1,000 of vets bills later nothing found.

Sorry you lost your cat Furries Do you have a cat at the moment?

Furries · 05/04/2021 02:51

@Silkiescat - aww, I feel for your mum! Same here, my mum was desperate for my boy to love her. Every time she approached him, he’d lift his paw up as a warning sign - “I’m gonna batter the shit out of you”.

He used to sit partway up stairs and if mum used the downstairs loo, he’d poke his paw through spindles and thwack her on the head as she walked past!

Bless him, miss him loads.

Love the fact that SC takes the tuna, but takes exception to human entry into the house🤣

Cats, gotta love them 🐾💕

Silkiescat · 05/04/2021 01:33

Grin Furries at the bottom sign sitting. My cat also dislikes my Mum, she always brings a tin of tuna in water as that is the cat's favourite food but Silkiecat eats it, drinks the water then hisses and swipes her paw at my Mum. Dropping tuna off is fine but not coming in. Angry cat.

spongedog · 05/04/2021 01:13

I wouldnt put down crunchy until the pouch from yesterday had been eaten.

I insisted on putting outside the large food recycling bin. I know it's the cat's favourite seat but the dustbin men really dont care - they wont wait tomorrow morning.

Furries · 05/04/2021 01:02

@Silkiescat - that made me laugh re the no pets sign.

Years ago, I had a moving in present of a doormat that said “not you again!” On it. It was placed on the step outside my kitchen door. My gorgeous boy (RIP) would plonk his backside on it in a very deliberate manner whenever my mum came over and we sat in the garden.

Silkiescat · 05/04/2021 00:53

DH just got told off - he spent 2.5 minutes in the bathroom and Silkiecat had allowed 2, even that was too generous. But he did make roast lamb earlier so Silkiecat is being kinder than normal.

She loves a clean house, lots of clean things to put her bum on immediately after they are cleaned, maybe a male / female cat divide on this.

She used to sit on the cat sunbed kids trampoline right next to the manufacturers sign saying no pets on this.

QueenPaw · 05/04/2021 00:43

@Soubriquet not my bloody cat. Also he refuses to eat wet food so I buy grain free dry for him
Swapped my cat onto raw and not my cat is "this delicious! Why I never had this before? I visit FIVE times a day now"
I found him sat staring at the fridge the other day

MarkRuffaloCrumble · 05/04/2021 00:14

My cat hates me for not letting him eat my lemon curd on toast. Even though lemons make him wince. He watched me eat the whole thing with an annoyed look on his face and then when he realised he wasn’t getting fed something he hates he skulked off and disappeared upstairs and I haven’t seen him since.

GeorgeandHarold66 · 04/04/2021 23:59

I removed the fat bumble bee that she had her eye on to a place where she couldn't get it.

I closed a door.

I sung a high note at my virtual choir practice, she was on my knee at the time.

She's considering giving me the sack I can tell!!
