I just spent the night nursing a cushion tassel thinking it was a baby hedgehog

Ok so my back is currently in spasm so am blaming my high strength painkillers for being such an idiot. Last night after letting the dogs out for a wee they became incredibly excited and it was because there was a hedgehog outside. I quickly got the dogs in and the hedgehog went on it's merry way. I was in the living room watching lots of episodes of Doc Martin (my new fav programme). I looked down and saw a small white soft spiky thing. I picked it up and panicked it was the shape of a baby hedgehog but white. I googled baby hedgehogs it looked the same. I was awake until 3 am cradling and keeping warm a cushion tassel. Googling and learning all about how to care for a baby hedgehog. FFS what a moron 🤣 I only realised this morning in the daylight what it was.

Oh @PhoenixIsFlying that's not good .

Can you screw your courage to the sticking point and ring them again ? I think you must ,you have to tell them that the co codamol isn't helping .

I bet youcan't laugh .....

DodgeRainClouds · 27/02/2021 16:50

That is hilarious 😂 Co codamol sends me loopy too. I refuse to take it now.

Mummy195 · 27/02/2021 16:48

TheOrchidKiller · 27/02/2021 16:33

A search party revealed it to be an old wet dressing gown
Love it!
I whistled at & almost called out, "Dinner time!" to a neighbour's bin. I thought it was the cat.

The annoying thing was that a few days later I almost did it again.

If Specsavers is wanting new ads they have this thread to borrow from.

I'm crying laughing 🤣 oh god, this is hilarious

PhoenixIsFlying · 27/02/2021 16:21

peridito thank you. I had an emergency gp telephone appointment yesterday and was hoping for some sort of muscle relaxant but just said to continue with prescribed strength co codamol that I already had and hot water bottle. To be honest it's not really touching the pain. X

Someone thought this was an escaped leopard - turned out someone’s dressing gown fell off whilst she was doing the school run!

Story here

mrshonda · 27/02/2021 16:18

Oh, that's so lovely - and funny. A friend of mine once stopped all the traffic on a very busy road to run out and save a hedgehog. When she reached it, it was an upside down scrubbing brush.

MrsTerryPratchett · 27/02/2021 16:18

My only suggestion is to not mix those drugs with alcohol.

Safety first!

riotlady · 27/02/2021 16:17

I took too much codeine by accident once and ended up watching little people tango across my ceiling, so i don’t blame you!

@MrsMoastyToasty

Many moons ago when I was a young girl I crept across the landing to my parents room and quietly woke my dad to tell him burglars were trying to get in. It was our new hamster going round and around in his wheel.
I once woke my dad to tell him someone was standing in the flowerbed under my bedroom window (we lived in a bungalow), and he went outside with a torch to confront the intruder, only to find a slug noisily munching his way through mum’s plants. Blush
peridito · 27/02/2021 16:12

What a lovely ,kind person you are .Especially when in pain !

BUT ..as said above ,you need muscle relaxant/few doses of valium to sort out the spasm .You have to contact GP .

Laiste · 27/02/2021 16:11

Oh FFS this is priceless Grin

Thank you OP.

Our village community page was all up in arms recently because someone thought they'd spotted a BABY LEOPARD which looked asi if it had been run over in one of the lanes.

A search party revealed it to be an old wet dressing gown GrinGrin
