@Twobrews

Why does a teaspoon need a rest?!
It's been doing too much stirring?

Or maybe it needs a good forking...

How lovely Thanks

Best of Mumsnet. This is just so heartwarming. Beautiful kindness leading to beautiful spoonrests.

Just stumbled across this thread and just wanted to say how lovely of you @Sevensilverrings and they are truly beautiful teaspoon rests! Nice to see some positivity and kindness on mumsnet.

Absolutely brilliant and I'm place marking for those long evenings when enough is enough and you need to escape to a cosy place.

Marmite27 · 17/02/2021 13:48

Well everyone, the moment of truth has come. I am speechless, so I'll just leave this here for now.
@Sevensilverrings, you are the sort of whimsical kind artist the world needs more of, so your Etsy shop must happen for health reasons.
@PeaceLoveAndCandy, Kiln had been emptied, so here’s the results. The glass has made the glaze a little darker than I’d hoped, but nothing broken, which is always good!
I don’t know if you’d prefer the set of three or a couple of the other ones that fit together but not as snuggly? Let me know and I’ll pop them in the post for you! Thanks for giving me a fun distraction!
These are so beautiful. I love the glass bottoms. If you ever feel like selling them I'd love to buy one from you

Subeccoo · 17/02/2021 12:36

Really really enjoyed this, they'd go so well in my kitchen too Blush

What a fabulous thread. Sometimes when I want to feel like the world is a good place I re-read the Elderly Korean Lady thread and this has the same calm heartwarming feeling.

Roystonv · 17/02/2021 09:36

So glad I found this thread and love how it grew from a mundane ? to one about making the world a nicer place. Beautiful pieces.

CoastAlong · 17/02/2021 09:23

What a wonderful thread. How generous of you @Sevensilverrings. I would love to see the other things you make. Please please set up an ETSY shop!

Nowisthemonthofmaying · 17/02/2021 09:21

Another vote for the Etsy shop here - my DH was just saying this morning that he needed a spoon rest and then this thread popped up! I would gladly buy a set, they are beautiful.

yellowstoneranch · 17/02/2021 09:14

OP - are you my twin ? No-one else I know knows what I am on about or uses these, I've had a little teapot shaped bowl thingy for my spoons for years and mostly my mother used them for the actual teabags (and made a right mess!) and chucks the spoon in the bottom of the sink!

Sevensilverrings ... yes please, add me too if you decide to make up an etsy shop, I'd be very interested in some pottery bits, that blue glaze is just perfect for us
