There are 34 packets of couscous in my kitchen cupboard. This comes from the time I accidentally ordered 40 instead of 4 and would not admit to the delivery driver, DH or anyone else that I had made a mistake. It is probably lucky that we don't usually order our shopping online because I would fuck it up like a boss every time.
Haha. I remember a thread on here I was proper laughing at ages and ages ago where someone had bought many many boxes of nobbly bobblys! My search doesn't work right, but I wish I could find that thread, was hilarious. IIRC she was accused of lying so posted pics when they came Grin

Best online shopping moment has got to be asdas box of 100 (I think, big box) nappies that were on special, meant to be a tenner.

Substituted for 4 large packs (adding to 100 or whatever nappy box was) of toilet roll?!

Useful.

ASDA have a thing about nappy substitutes. As another 6 months or so later, they substituted a pack of size 4 nappies for newborn ones Hmm And have previously substituted nighttime pullups for normal nappies. Gave up on nappy type products from the online shop after this third one!

Nsky · 06/10/2020 19:21

Seriously just go shopping, all sound mad, it can’t be that confusing?

NRatched · 06/10/2020 19:21

Done this many times with different things. At one stage it did seem it was everytime I shopped. Really pissed me off as I do check through before putting order through too specifically to check if anythings dodgy. Yet still manage to do silly things with online deliveries Hmm

I once managed to buy 5kg of beef when I wanted a 500g piece. That was a bloody shock, in price of course too! (basket had not worked out price, just had 12.50kg or something there without approx price for ordered piece!) Family were sick of it, but I didn't feel right asking for refund from shop or anything as it WAS my mistake so we just lived on beef for a week Grin

ancientgran · 06/10/2020 19:16

Does anyone else feel guilty when they change the order. I know I'm old but I am with it enough to realise that there isn't some poor soul sitting there looking at me changing my order but I always feel as if there is and they are sighing at me remembering to add an extra loaf.

EdHelpPls · 06/10/2020 19:15

Gluteus- that has happened to me quite a few times. I know how many items I'd put in as it was the item limit but 10 less arrived. When I looked back at the confirmation email the 10 items weren't on it. I complained but they told me I must have done something wrong. Apparently after 6 years of weekly deliveries I suddenly lost my ability to press the order button properly!

That is hilarious!!! 40 bags Grin
ancientgran · 06/10/2020 19:12

Not as bad as me ordering a pack of 9 Twix, well I thought it was a pack of 9 in fact it was 9 packs of 9. The delivery man did give me a funny look, I think I spent nearly as much on Twix as the rest of the weeks shopping.

I'm still eating them several weeks later.

Spikeyball · 06/10/2020 19:12

I amended an order to put in a load of birthday tea food and then when it didn't turn up realised that I had amended the wrong week's order.

bouncydog · 06/10/2020 19:05

I’m not allowed to access Amazon wine anymore at night ever since 8 packs x45 toilet rolls arrived over the course of a week 😳😳😳

lockdownalli · 06/10/2020 19:04

One December I ordered 14 sprouts.

Except I didn't.

I ordered 14 net bags of sprouts Grin

That was an interesting convo with the delivery driver!!

BlueJava · 06/10/2020 19:03

DP will reserve a slot and add in 12 packs of smoked salmon or 4 tins of Quality Street (both real examples) he then forgets to edit it when he adds other shopping in. A few weeks ago we had 38 pints of milk in the fridge after a delivery.

BlankTimes · 06/10/2020 19:03

I need to stop stabbing away at the + sign

That's what my neighbour said when I enquired why he had 6 swing-bins full of wild bird food in his porch Grin

Tomhardyshadabath · 06/10/2020 19:03

I keep doing this with cat food! I think it stems from a combination of moving from a fortnightly to a weekly shop and Waitrose doing a 3 packs for £11 offer on Felix. For 3 weeks running, I have accidentally ordered 6 boxes (of 12 sachets) and we currently have 17 boxes in the garage. I forget to cancel cat food from the order and then when checking out am invited to complete my orders which I automatically do. I seriously don't know why I can't remember and I bet the fussy little sods go off Felix long before we get to box 17! 😭😭.

SnapeSnapeSeverusSnape · 06/10/2020 19:02

The delivery driver told my DM she'd ordered a lot of bananas, she replied oh yes I'm making banana splits and happily off he drove, leaving behind 44 bananas for her and DF Grin

FizzyGreenWater · 06/10/2020 19:01

I'm in the perimenopurchase phase. Nearly as bad

TheTrollFairy · 06/10/2020 19:01

Every week there is a surprise in my weekly shop... nothing that can’t be used but always something that I didn’t mean to order Grin

FizzyGreenWater · 06/10/2020 19:01

Eeek menopurchase

gluteustothemaximus · 06/10/2020 18:59

Buffoonery!!!! Grin

OP - I do the complete opposite. I'm convinced I've added something to the basket but it doesn't turn up, and it's not on the Tesco receipt. I think someone at Tesco is messing with me Grin

I also order things that look a lot bigger than the picture and I forget to check the weight just look at the price. So I spent £1 on peas on offer, think that'll be our normal bag, and it was a teeny tiny bag of peas, so not worth £1 Hmm

I was so impressed they'd put a bar code on it - and the sprout was small enough for it to wrap completely round it - cheapskates..

Oh I'm sorry but this made me laugh so much! Grin

The Christmas order arrived - with one single lonely brussel sprout with a little bar code wrapped round it Grin

Lol that reminds me of the time I booked 2 leg waxes, because I wanted both my legs done, why I thought you might need to book them individually who knows! But rather than admit my error I convinced a friend to come with me and get hers done at the same time as my treat ahaha, what a weird treat eh!!
bloody hell that made me chuckle!

Ah yes - we had 24 apples this week (2 packs of one type, 2 packs of another), because I couldn't see apples on my shop. Fortunately, we all like apples and will probably manage to finish eat least half this week and I'll try to remember to take them off this weeks shop.

I do it on my app, thinking I can just add as I See what we need - but there is always a weird quantity of something or another 2 packs of something we already have at the back of the cupboard.
