I often manage to buy one lonely, solitary banana, instead of a pack.

gurteee · 06/10/2020 20:32

@Devlesko

We don't have online delivery for food shopping. But, I know that I would be exactly the same, it's funny you suggested ADHD I was diagnosed quite late in life.
That's interesting! I have a few reasons why I think I might be. Something is certainly responsible for my mad shopping deliveries!

I was on holiday in Barcelona as a student and in crap Spanish ordered 2 kg of tomatoes instead of 2. Lived off them all week. Sick of them by the end.

MJMG2015 · 06/10/2020 20:31

Not quite the same, but the cute little jar of Brandt on pickle I ordered will make a lovely vase if I ever get through it 🙇🏻‍♀️

@DuckonaBike

@SilenceOfThePrams

We had floor to ceiling boxes of cat food once. Two full columns of twelve boxes of single sachets. That took a while to work through.

And 7 kilos of bananas.

Our alarm went off once and someone called the Police, they turned up (in broad daylight). We all wandered through the house to find DH who was sitting in the garden with a drink, looking just like a burglar.

We turned back into the house and they stopped, baffled by the huge pile of cat food boxes by the door. When they asked how many cats we had I said two, which baffled them even more. There was enough to feed a full sanctuary for months.

BoudiccasBoudoir · 06/10/2020 20:28

I did this the other week. Wanted a 4 pack of a soft drink I like. So for some reason I ordered 4 x the 4 packs because I didn't want can I wanted 4 right? Felt like a right twat watching the delivery driver lugging them up stairs to my flat

MJMG2015 · 06/10/2020 20:28

@SusieSusieSoo

Op I reserve my Tesco slot 4 weeks ahead & put 2 big packs of pampers in to secure the slot & checkout. Then I fill the basket & remove the pampers when it gets nearer the day the night before the delivery slot.

In the summer when I was losing the plot I had to return the pampers to the driver twice. DS is 8 next month😆🤷‍♀️

I reserve mine with Rum...it doesn't seem so bad when you forget to take them off the order 🤣
Scbchl · 06/10/2020 20:23

My husband once ordered 9 baked potatoes. It wasnt till I was unpacking the delivery it became apparent hed ordered 9 packs of four. So we had 36 baked tatties 😂🤦‍♀️

pinkgin85 · 06/10/2020 20:21

I accidentally ordered 2kg if bell peppers once instead of 2. We ate a lot of bell peppers with everything for a while!

What a waste of batteries, rechargeable ones are so much better (for the purse, and the environment), I think Eneloop are the best

Lazysundayafternoons · 06/10/2020 20:13

@gurteee

Seriously though - what am I going to do with 48 aaa batteries?!

wails>> 😩😩😩😩😩

They would be used in no time in my house. Have actually started buying a 12 pack of aa and a 12 pack of AAA in my weekly shop. The kids are shocked that their toys have lights and sound (the batteries had ran out in them years ago 😂😂)

This thread has really made me laugh.

Back in the early days of online shopping, I felt very smug that I had ordered a delivery to arrive when we got back from holiday so we could come home to a full fridge. I was evangelical about this amazing new service to anyone who would listen. I even logged on to demonstrate how I could edit my order up until midnight the night before from the other side of the world.

I was slightly less smug when the delivery driver handed me one single pot of yoghurt in a carrier bag. Somehow I had managed to delete and replace my entire order rather than add the yoghurt.

DuckonaBike · 06/10/2020 20:09

I once ordered a kilo of root ginger. It’s quite light so there was a lot. I had to take it to work and hand it out in the office. It went with surprising speed actually.

NorfolkEnchance · 06/10/2020 20:08

I purposefully bought 48 AAA batteries last week could have just had yours Grin

Actually, the funny thing since lockdown is that I've had several occasions where there's been a bing-bong at the door and I;ve opened the door to someone else's shopping. The first time, they argued me down to the ground. This was for No.66 and I'm at 66, so this must be my stuff..... No, I don't shop at that shop..... Well you must do, because here's your shopping.... No it isn't - I don;t eat that, or that ..... Look this is the right address - 66 Jarvis Road. Um no, this is Leonard Road. Jarvis is the the next road along. did regret it one time - they had several tins of tomatoes, which I couldn't get at the time.....

The Christmas order arrived - with one single lonely brussel sprout with a little bar code wrapped round it Grin

SummerHouse · 06/10/2020 19:57

Five kilos of turmeric. 😂

JontyDoggle37 · 06/10/2020 19:57

Ham. Deli ham is evil. I tried to order equivalent to 3 slices, ended up with 0.6kg of ham!!!

NorfolkEnchance · 06/10/2020 19:57

Work Christmas dinner. Attempted to order 1kg sprouts. Received a single lonely sprout in a bag.
