I used one of those foot peel masks & was peeling the skin off. My beagle ran in & ate it all! 🤢

He also rolls in fox shit. And knocked over bathroom bin & took out tampon applicator & ... cleaned it 🤢

My staffy, when she was a puppy, ate the arses out of my DS' pants.

When we first got our cats they both ended up with Giardia as kittens so we had to lock them in the dining room like quarantine and every morning the room would be covered in the most watery, foul smelling shit .
Had to disinfect the whole room twice a day for weeks .

Worse was when the got the snip and one of them was trying to cover up his crap but managed to get cat diarrhoea all over his cone of shame .

Ilovechocolate01 · 18/01/2020 22:19

Cocker spaniel now aged 9 has calmed down a bit but has eaten:
Dead bird crawling with maggots - he got to it before we could
My g string which was drying on the radiator - we were very lucky it passed through without harming him although DH has to pull the last bit out as it was still in one piece
The usual disgustingness of cat poo, sick etc
The only thing he won't eat is pickled onions - stole one off my plate and dropped it after a few seconds. Will eat sick but not pickled onion Hmm

FabulouslyElegantTits · 18/01/2020 22:17

I think I've told this tale before.

We were having a stroll through our local park, where a group of travellers had arrived (relevant)

One of the children literally, as she was walking along, paused for a second shook her leg, shat on the floor and carried on walking along (I shit you not!)

DDog has gobbled it down before I could stop her! A little bit of love for her died there and then.

champagneandfromage50 · 18/01/2020 22:11

My dog is a wire haired fox terrier so they roll in poo to disguise themselves. As basic as that

TheNestedIf · 18/01/2020 22:05

As a child, the neighbour's cat who liked to hang around my parent's garden. spewed all over the window sill as Dbro and I looked on, then immediately proceeded to lap it all back up. Dbro had hysterics whilst I did a fair impression of Edvard Munch's "The Scream".

A more recent neighbour's cats, whom I later inherited, took exception to him bringing a lady friend back one night. Between the cats, despite them only just about being on speaking terms and generally being too lazy to hunt, they apparently smeared what eventually identified as a pigeon all over his kitchen. Rapid exit by lady friend. When they moved in with me, I decided it might be sensible just to let them play gooseberry.

I think dogs like stinky smells - they don’t register it as disgusting, rather interesting so they check it out to satisfy their curiosity. The smells they don’t like would be things that irritate their nose/make them sneeze like really strong perfume. Think about it, dog food smells atrocious yet that’s the bulk of their diet

QueenOfOversharing · 18/01/2020 21:59

Ok, someone please explain this - dogs have really amazing sense of smell, so why do they eat / roll in really stinky stuff? Like, beagles are scent hounds, but go straight for fox poo.

My staffy is good at catching stuff - squirrels & mice - she caught a mouse in my living room but thankfully she just squishes them half dead & leaves them.

My dog ate a condom he found in the park. I saw him get it but couldn't get him to drop it and didn't want to try and get it out of his mouth as I didn't know if it had been used 🤢

He swallowed it and I had the pleasure of seeing it come out the other end the following day.

Thestrangestthing · 18/01/2020 21:36

Found and carried about a dead frog, it had been dead for some time and he would not let it go, he was only about a year old.
My old dog used to eat other dogs shit 🤢

Bluewavescrashing · 18/01/2020 21:33

My rabbits eat their own poop. It's normal but it's still gross.

TheSubtleArt · 18/01/2020 21:30

Came home from work to a note from the dog walker in the hallway (in the days before everyone using texts / emails)

'SubtleDog found a mound of fresh cut grass he was rolling in- think I got to him before he ate too much'

She was very mistaken.

He had completely covered himself, the lower parts of the walls, the floor, his bed, food bowl etc etc with shitty green diahorrea. Thank God I'd had a drink on the way home or else I would have cried cleaning it all up. I had to sit and compose myself in the bathroom- talk to myself in the mirror type thing to psyche myself up. Will never forget.

QueenOfOversharing · 18/01/2020 21:16

@MamaDane hahaha! I don't even blame you!!!

This thread is like an affirmation to my hatred of dogs lol

QueenOfOversharing · 18/01/2020 20:42

I had a cat years ago who ate spiders, really crunches them. I'm terrified of spiders. One morning I am lying on my futon & see a huge spider (honestly, it cast a shadow!!) so I encourage the cat to see it - knowing he'll dispose of it. He gets it. I'm jumping on the futon, shrieking like a prat. Then cat is running round clawing at his face. I manage to catch him - a huge spider leg is sticking out his nostril. I had to pull it out and I SWEAR it crunched like pulling off a chicken leg!!!!

My dog eats her own poo and the cats given the chance, absolutely vile! I was nearly sick the first time I caught her chomping on a piece of her own poo

QueenOfOversharing · 18/01/2020 20:39

Beagles are vile OP, mine is anyway!

@Beagled no, you're right - they all are! Really notice it compared to my staffy. 😂

She was the same lady who boiled her dirty knickers with the staff lunch of boiled potatoes.

Omfg @KarmaStar that's probably the worst thing I've ever read! 🤢

Our dog eats his own shit if he's given half the chance and he absolutely LOVES cat shit! 💩

cliffdiver · 18/01/2020 20:23

This thread is incredible.

DKitten doesn't have many tails (Wink) of woe yet.

When he was very little, he couldn't clean his bum properly and poo used to get caught in his long fur, which I would have to wash / cut out.

All rodents have (so far) been whole, but I live in constant fear.

Nominating for classics @QueenOfOversharing

My previous dog was a right minger (RIP Martha ❤)

She ate a green ham out of the food waste - produced farts you could taste for days.

She sicked up her own whole turd onto my fluffy rug.

She was constantly eating grass and butt scooting on the carpet when bits got stuck on the way out. I remember walking her one day and my partner having to twirl a twig around a long bit to pull it out as he had no gloves 😂

She stole alcohol from a field party and got drunk. Funny now but awful at the time, just kept spewing EVERYWHERE. Couldn't walk, I had to lift her into my boot to get her to the vet (40kg). £200 bloody quid that cost us.

Dinnertime22 · 18/01/2020 18:46

I do not have any pets. However, a few years I went out to a local park with my friend and her DC. It was summer and the child did a poo which just fell out of his shorts (he was having toilet issues)
A big lab came along and eat it. It then ran off.
I stood and watched in horror. Vile.

ofay · 18/01/2020 18:45

English setter, regurgitated a football sock that went missing 10 days previously.

madamedesevigne · 18/01/2020 18:44

My cat ate hair, tried to shit it out and ended up with a piece of poo hanging out of his bum suspended from a hair. This terrified him and he then went racing around the flat leaving a trail of poo behind him. I came home, panicked and immediately grabbed the hair and pulled. Fortunately, it snapped. I then spent a sheepish ten minutes on the phone to the emergency vet who clarified that I almost certainly wouldn’t have done any serious permanent damage, although there was a distinctly frosty atmosphere at home for a while afterwards.
