I am 50% of the way through chemo. (second time around)(different primary)

My DS (18) has just been diagnosed with depression I think me being diagnosed again was the tipping point.

Due to above I am having to delegate Christmas, it will get done, it did before just not my way.

DH retiring in three years, should be more than enough to live on, but at the moment I am worrying (Like I couldn't worry about that closer to the time) Hmm

Sausage rolls, my job, ditto mince pies.........if they don't happen my DH and my DS will suck it up. Just me worrying.

DS struggling in college and have to go to a meeting on Wednesday

So if some of the night shift would like to come and mind my ,worries whilst I attempt to sleep, it would be gratefully received.

Feel free to add your own, just writing that down has helped.

Just found this thread and it is so beautiful and comforting. I hope it is helping everyone manage their worries. I could do with some help with mine, they are generally constant but late evening they stop me sleeping and make me feel guilty that I didn't help the father of my children (my soul mate) to over come his alcoholism before it killed him. I will happily take on someone else's during the day when I am happy to be at work.

plominoagain I think you should name and shame.

Still waiting here. A further development means it is preferable that this comes to a conclusion soon but it would be outing to say what it is.

NumbersStation · 11/02/2020 11:10

I hope you can take it easy today flower. Flowers

plominoagain · 11/02/2020 11:05

Got home at 9.30 am - after deciding they couldn't fix the lights , left me alone at a closed services until 0630 , and even then tried to get out of taking me home . They didn't win

NumbersStation · 11/02/2020 10:28

@plominoagain

Did you get home ok? Shock

NumbersStation · 11/02/2020 10:27

@bettybattenburg

I am so very sorry to read about your father. Flowers

2018SoFarSoGreat · 11/02/2020 05:13

Betty you are wise indeed.

bettybattenburg · 11/02/2020 05:10

No worries are silly worries

2018SoFarSoGreat · 11/02/2020 05:08

I think you've been really brave and incredibly kind to let your dad have the end he would want. His dignity is preserved. I hope it is peaceful and painless.

Sending a hug and strong shoulder to lean on. I shall take my silly worries back, and carry yours for tonight.

bettybattenburg · 11/02/2020 04:49

Thank you
Yes the hospital is good but too far for me to get to in time
Sorry you couldn't be with your mother Thanks

2018SoFarSoGreat · 11/02/2020 04:43

That's awful. I'm here.

Is he in good hands? It was very comforting to know my mum was treated really kindly at the end. I couldn't be there. That was so hard. I spent some quiet time just being quiet, and thinking about her.

bettybattenburg · 11/02/2020 04:22

No I have nobody with me and can't get to him

2018SoFarSoGreat · 11/02/2020 04:19

Oh Betty. I'm so so sorry. You poor thing. Can you get to him? Do you have someone with you! My heart goes out to you. ❤️

bettybattenburg · 11/02/2020 04:17

Just had the call. My father is unconscious in hospital and not expected to survive the night.

MrsTerryPratchett · 11/02/2020 04:06

Thanks love

HannaYeah · 11/02/2020 04:04

@MrsTerryPratchett I’ve got that for you!

MrsTerryPratchett · 11/02/2020 03:45

Could someone take my work ones? Had an interview, now a written, I won't have a job in a few months if I don't get it. I hate this feeling.

bettybattenburg · 11/02/2020 03:30

Will do 2018 if they don't mind getting soggy in the bath

2018SoFarSoGreat · 11/02/2020 03:06

Tonight I'd be. Sorry. That's the kind of state I'm in 😟

2018SoFarSoGreat · 11/02/2020 03:05

If one of you lovelies could take charge of my worries tight is be eternally grateful. Had a bit of a scare last night (started a thread about it!) and also waited all day for news of tests from good friend. She just called. No malignancy. Thank God. But I know I've worked myself up into a state so won't be able to sleep. It's my long day at work tomorrow. Yuck.

billsmothers · 11/02/2020 03:04

Oh no. I hope you have blankets !

plominoagain · 11/02/2020 01:19

Well , if anyone has some worries they want babysitting, they're more than welcome to send them to me , who is currently sitting in my car just off the A1 waiting for the RAC to turn up as my lights have packed up . Have been told it may be some time Shock

bettybattenburg · 11/02/2020 01:13

You’d think now I’m 50 odd I’d have more sense...

I'm 50 odd and I'm still waiting.....

I've just made old fashioned hot chocolate on the hob with dark chocolate, milk, cardamom and all spice. Still got cold feet but I don't care so much...still waiting for the printing to finish - it takes so long!

NumbersStation · 11/02/2020 00:54

Tell me about it. It has turned proper bitter here. My cold feet are my own fault though. I nipped our to fill the bird feeders in bare feet like a plum. Blush. You’d think now I’m 50 odd I’d have more sense...

Sleep well flower. Smile
