I am 50% of the way through chemo. (second time around)(different primary)

My DS (18) has just been diagnosed with depression I think me being diagnosed again was the tipping point.

Due to above I am having to delegate Christmas, it will get done, it did before just not my way.

DH retiring in three years, should be more than enough to live on, but at the moment I am worrying (Like I couldn't worry about that closer to the time) Hmm

Sausage rolls, my job, ditto mince pies.........if they don't happen my DH and my DS will suck it up. Just me worrying.

DS struggling in college and have to go to a meeting on Wednesday

So if some of the night shift would like to come and mind my ,worries whilst I attempt to sleep, it would be gratefully received.

Feel free to add your own, just writing that down has helped.

@NumbersStation you obviously care so much for your brother. I hope he has a good peaceful sleep.

bettybattenburg · 20/02/2020 23:24

The funeral starts in an hour and a half.

GenuineKlatchianPottery · 20/02/2020 23:06

It’s that time of night again. I have my little purry worry warrior with me ready to subdue any problems while you sleep.

NumbersStation · 20/02/2020 19:45

Thank you to you and Madame La Spot Flowers x

plominoagain · 20/02/2020 16:49

I'll send him some sleepy nights too . Many shoulders make cares a little lighter x

NumbersStation · 20/02/2020 15:28

I’m touched and grateful. I’m working on this too. I just don’t want him to break and I think sleep is restorative in so many ways. It is just too big a job for me alone as it causes me to worry also. Thank you Flowers

GenuineKlatchianPottery · 20/02/2020 14:37

I’ve got him @NumbersStation.

MrsTerryPratchett · 20/02/2020 14:34

I will send him sleepy thoughts.

NumbersStation · 20/02/2020 14:14

I know this is probably a bit unorthodox but could we maybe wish for sleep for my brother?

Having a bit of a time of it - I’m sorry I can’t explain - it just isn’t my story to tell. He is a lovely man and I’m proud that he is my brother. But he needs a really good run of sleeps to feel better in this world as he is exhausted carrying the weight of the world.

My grateful thanks xFlowers

Hi All, day is done. I’m not really fit for duty but also no new worries to lay down.

Bakedpotatoandgin · 20/02/2020 00:55

Popping in to offer a place for any worries under my cosy knitted blanket Smile

2018SoFarSoGreat · 20/02/2020 00:04

Phew.

Okay, then we have a good group on duty - me included - so send us your worries, your fears, your tears. We're here to help you through the dark bit.

NumbersStation · 19/02/2020 23:42

Knock knock knock

As you were Havelock. Was called out and clearly sent a consonant distress signal in error!

I am here and floating about. And I here to help in any way I can. Calls permitting Flowers

2018SoFarSoGreat · 19/02/2020 23:38

@NumbersStation were you kidnapped by aliens then? If so, I am now very worried and shall need to hog Havelock for my ownself tonight.

Knock three times if you are safe and sound. ;)
Shout HELP very loudly if otherwise!

NumbersStation · 19/02/2020 23:14

GenuineKlatchianPottery · 19/02/2020 23:09

@HannaYeah and @bettybattenburg
I’m thinking of both of you, I’m so sorry for both of your losses.
Here to take any worries for the night, Havelock is tucked up next to me purring in anticipation.

NumbersStation · 19/02/2020 18:18

Thinking of you @HannaYeah. I’m so very sorry for your loss Flowers

Still thinking of you @bettybattenburg Flowers

May you find peace in your dreams until you find peace in your waking hours x

HannaYeah · 19/02/2020 12:18

I’m so sorry @bettybattenburg

For me it was my older brother. Gone too soon and under tragic circumstances.

My own parents divorced 45 years ago. I understand what you are going through.

But also, look for good things. Some will come. Little miracles. Angels around you in the form of everyday people who show up when you need them and do exactly what you need then go back to being normal people leading normal lives.

bettybattenburg · 19/02/2020 05:25

@hannayeah I am sorry for your loss. Be prepared for happy moments, sad moments and unexpected moments where it hits you like a brick wall. The one week moment was particularly hard. The funeral is tomorrow and that is bringing its own specific difficulties. I am finding it hard to see or talk to my remaining parent, they were divorced for over 25 years. And don't go and see 1917 without industrial strength tissues. My DCs wanted to go and I agreed. Amazing film. Not for this week though.

bettybattenburg · 19/02/2020 05:19

Sad I can't cope with knowing he's gone.

HannaYeah · 19/02/2020 05:12

@bettybattenburg I’m so sorry for your sadness and loss. I’d say more but nothing I write seems to make sense tonight.

@2018SoFarSoGreat Thank you so much. It really helps.

2018SoFarSoGreat · 19/02/2020 05:03

@bettybattenburg so sorry to hear you are also bereft. There is no limit to the size of grief.

I can only offer to hold a small part of your sadness, along with Hannah's. It would be safe with me. I'm very intimately acquainted with grief ❤️

bettybattenburg · 19/02/2020 04:43

Hanna, I get you exactly, I'm in the same boat but a week on.

2018SoFarSoGreat · 19/02/2020 03:19

Oh @HannahYeah sorry to hear your sad news. A precious loved one is a hard loss.

Tonight I shall hold some of your sadness, if you'd like. I shall hold it tenderly, as it is filled with love ❤️

HannaYeah · 19/02/2020 02:51

I’ve got sadness tonight. I lost a precious loved one today. Tomorrow is going to be hard.

Thank you all for taking all the recent worries off my plate. It has helped so much. All recent ones were for this family member. It’s so strange to realize I don’t have to worry anymore (or ask you all to worry) for him.
