I am 50% of the way through chemo. (second time around)(different primary)

My DS (18) has just been diagnosed with depression I think me being diagnosed again was the tipping point.

Due to above I am having to delegate Christmas, it will get done, it did before just not my way.

DH retiring in three years, should be more than enough to live on, but at the moment I am worrying (Like I couldn't worry about that closer to the time) Hmm

Sausage rolls, my job, ditto mince pies.........if they don't happen my DH and my DS will suck it up. Just me worrying.

DS struggling in college and have to go to a meeting on Wednesday

So if some of the night shift would like to come and mind my ,worries whilst I attempt to sleep, it would be gratefully received.

Feel free to add your own, just writing that down has helped.

KTD27 A hand here for you.

dappledsunshine · 18/12/2019 21:36

This thread is so beautiful, it has made me cry.

I'll willingly mind some overnight, I've got a nice deep pocket in my fluffy dressing gown.

TheClausSeason · 18/12/2019 21:29

I'll hold your hand KTD27. He'll be in excellent hands. I'll be thinking of you both. Flowers

KTD27 · 18/12/2019 21:24

It’s tomorrow. We are here. Little one at Great Ormond street in the morning for his Op and My stomach is bottomless in its anxiety.
Terrified isn’t the word. Hold my hand please? If I could sleep some it might be easier. I’m so scared.

BlackeyedPetitsPois · 18/12/2019 21:19

I’m actually crying a bit now. Happy crying as this is all so lovely.

BlackeyedPetitsPois · 18/12/2019 21:18

@thisisallnewtome8 thank you so much Flowers

TheClausSeason · 18/12/2019 21:14

A lovely thread. Hope you all sleep well tonight.

thisisallnewtome8 · 18/12/2019 21:03

I got you blackeyedpetispois x

BlackeyedPetitsPois · 18/12/2019 20:54

What an amazingly warm hearted thread.

My worries tend to bubble up to the surface in the middle of the night too. Might need you lovely people later.

iMatter · 18/12/2019 20:48

MrsMozartMkII - thank you 😊.

You are so kind.

HannaYeah · 18/12/2019 20:40

I’m going to a party in a few hours and will gladly take your worries along with me so they can be distracted by the festivities.

MrsMozartMkII · 18/12/2019 20:35

iMatter your problems are held lass. Sleep deep and sleep well.

2018SoFarSoGreat · 18/12/2019 20:31

I have a WFH day today, and got started really early, so unload over here My afternoon is looking perfect to hold some of your burdens. I will be wrapping up some presents - no spoiling the surprises - while listening to some lovely holiday music. Calming music. It should not arouse high emotion.

You all just rest. There. Shh. Cozy down now.

iMatter · 18/12/2019 20:28

I might need someone to mind my worries tonight. Various bits and pieces going on culminating in a potentially tricky situation tomorrow. I barely slept on Sunday night thinking "this is the week" and I think I might struggle tonight.

Thank you lovely people Smile

MrsMozartMkII · 18/12/2019 20:02

I'm here to take anyone's angst and will hold it tight 'till the morning.

Sleep sweet people.

Clevererthanyou · 18/12/2019 15:55

NoOneNeedsToKnowThis Thank you for minding my Grey-Matter-Gremlins. I didn’t achieve much sleep but all is not lost. The preoccupying thought that makes me wretched at the moment is a serious continual problem in work with a member of staff bullying me and telling the Managing Director that I am an untrustworthy thief who is trying to manipulate him (I’m not, she doesn’t actually know me, she doesn’t like it when the MD is nice about people). I’ve decided to send some positivity out into the world to counter balance her behaviour through secret random acts of kindness and I’ll keep it up for as long as she continues her reign of nasty!

I will take someone else’s Gremlins so you can have a nap 💤 if anyone wants Grin

MrsTerryPratchett · 18/12/2019 15:26

Last night I couldn't sleep and thinking about this thread sent me off. It's just nice to think someone else is worrying for you.

Thanks
glowingtwig · 18/12/2019 13:36

Definitely for classics. It helped me sleep knowing my worries were normal and it has made me remember to be grateful for our good health.

Trumpton · 18/12/2019 13:28

Lovely idea

FinallyHere · 18/12/2019 13:13

Hello lovely people.

The arrangements that I was working about in the middle of the night are now all sorted in the most advantageous way.

Thank you lovely people for the support when it was needed.

I'm loving this thread, I wonder how everyone would feel about it being nominated for classics? I would love others to read it and be warmed by the sympathy and generosity of heart. Shall absolutely understand if the topic is just too sensitive.

Lordfrontpaw · 18/12/2019 09:04

Here’s a technique - give yourselves ten mins to worry as hard as you can - only ten now. That’s your limit for the day.

Gazelda · 18/12/2019 08:59

I'm doing a mind numbing job for 4 hours today.

If anyone would who is feeling overwhelmed would like to park one of their problems with me, I'd be happy to take them while you concentrate on your other worries.

I'll give your problem a little ponder, make sure it feels listened to and give it space to see if it can work out it's own solution.

Lordfrontpaw · 18/12/2019 08:50

The ancient Romans would scratch their wishes, curses (Sometimes insults) and worries onto something and throw it into water.

thisisallnewtome8 · 18/12/2019 08:41

Good morning to anyone just going to bed around the world. I'm off for a run and will take your worries with me and burn off their energy so that they're too tired to trouble you when they get back. I shall give them all a piece of my mind and threaten them with extra mileage if they don't give you some respite. Possible the nicest thread ever. I have relationship issues at the moment but I thankfully have my health which I took for granted until reading this thread. Stay strong, rest easy. I've got your back for the next couple of hours. C'mon worries put your running shoes on. We're off!!!!!

FinallyHere · 18/12/2019 08:29

Thank you everyone.

I'm back at my desk in work, there is plenty of space: I am very happy to look after concerns small and large.

After posting last night, I fell into a very deep sleep, for which I am very grateful xx
