I am 50% of the way through chemo. (second time around)(different primary)

My DS (18) has just been diagnosed with depression I think me being diagnosed again was the tipping point.

Due to above I am having to delegate Christmas, it will get done, it did before just not my way.

DH retiring in three years, should be more than enough to live on, but at the moment I am worrying (Like I couldn't worry about that closer to the time) Hmm

Sausage rolls, my job, ditto mince pies.........if they don't happen my DH and my DS will suck it up. Just me worrying.

DS struggling in college and have to go to a meeting on Wednesday

So if some of the night shift would like to come and mind my ,worries whilst I attempt to sleep, it would be gratefully received.

Feel free to add your own, just writing that down has helped.

My worries about my dd and my dp not getting along and I’m stuck in the middle. There’s a lot to it and a lot of people involved including my mum and dad. My dd lives with her dad because I suffered with depression after the birth of my second child and she went to go and stay with my parents for a while but she decided she wanted to live with her dad so here we are. She said something to her dad last night about my dp saying something about my mum and dad who I no longer have contact with. Basically saying that they chose her over my other 2 children that’s why we fell out but it wasn’t him that said it it was me. So her dad was in the phone to me threatening my dp. Now dp doesn’t want anything to do with dd and feels as though she’s dropped him in the shit. And here I am stuck in the middle of it all

GenuineKlatchianPottery · 26/12/2019 19:37

I’m here to take any worries for the night.
Pop them in a bag and send them in this direction.

GenuineKlatchianPottery · 26/12/2019 19:34

@SamVimesFavouriteDragon Well, he is an absolute tyrant Wink

SamVimesFavouriteDragon · 26/12/2019 19:10

I've loved this thread ❤️ I'm also loving that your cat is called Havelock, GenuineKlatchianPottery

FinallyHere · 26/12/2019 16:50

This thread has been one of the loveliest things about this holiday season.

Thank you MNetters.

HannaYeah · 26/12/2019 15:46

@GenuineKlatchianPottery

Thank you so much! This morning I had to try hard to remember what worry it was I sent to you! I thought, “Oh right. Well I don’t need to worry about that any more as nothing I can do about it!”

GenuineKlatchianPottery · 25/12/2019 23:24

Hand it over @HannaYeah.
I’ll chuck it at the end of the bed for the cat.
He may well have eaten it by morning.
Snuggle down and sleep peacefully.

HannaYeah · 25/12/2019 22:57

@GenuineKlatchianPottery you can have one of mine if you like. Stepson related.

Joyfulincolour · 25/12/2019 22:53

Checking in for the night shift. I had a little disco nap this afternoon so I can mind some worries while I watch Dolly Parton! I hope you can all get some rest tonight. Christmas day can be really stressful for some. Rest up and sleep well folks.

GenuineKlatchianPottery · 25/12/2019 22:43

Any worries need minding? I’ve been training the cat to stalk them. He’s getting quite adept at catching and subduing them.
Sleep well. Havelock is snuggled up sending loud healing purrs to anyone who needs them.

HannaYeah · 25/12/2019 21:54

I’m here and had a Christmas nap! I can take some worries for a spell.

Pepperama · 25/12/2019 21:51

If anyone has any worries that need minding, they can snuggle up with me for the night.

girlofthenorth · 25/12/2019 08:44

thanks all for holding my worries . I'm glad if they have been shrunk in the wash as can shove them in with the veg peelings or wrapping paper. I'm hoping then some of mine can go forever in the recycling .
GoDasher hope you got some rest and good luck for your day . Feeling the same Xmas Hmm.
Wishes you all festive wishes and hope the day goes well .

ThePawtriarchy · 25/12/2019 04:32

Here to mind the night worries Flowers

2018SoFarSoGreat · 25/12/2019 04:15

GoDasher you go get some rest. I've got you for a few hours. Just setting in for the evening with cocoa and cognac. They will be fine right here.

GoDasherGoDancerGoDonneretc · 25/12/2019 01:08

DH recovering from radiotherapy for throat tumour. Just had feeding tube removed this week. Yay! Still can only eat small amounts of some foods.
Christmas Eve at his mum's. Didn't go well. DH over tired, over emotional. Upset kids. Came home went to bed 7pm.
Feel like tomorrow will be looong day.

GenuineKlatchianPottery · 25/12/2019 01:03

Signing in for the night worries.
Hand em over, I can stick them on a boil wash and see if we can shrink them down if you want?
Merry Christmas to you all and I hope you have a restful night.

Ontheblackhill · 24/12/2019 21:32

I'll take you worries. My life us really smooth at the moment but I remember months of insomnia due to horrible things happening in my life years ago. Hand them over and I'll pop them on the top shelf of my cupboard under the stairs for the night while you get some sleep. Sleep tight and merry Christmas xx

anxioussue · 24/12/2019 21:30

I'll be up for a few hours yet so you go and sleep and I'll mind your DF worries

girlofthenorth · 24/12/2019 21:24

Hi all I can hide some worries on the sofa for a couple of hours if anyone needs it tonight - they can snuggle under the duvet as I watch some films and eat chocolate's. But then please can someone take mine so I can sleep tonight? My DF has been admitted to hospital . I am so worried. At home now with my family and feel guilty he is there .

I need to sleep I'm so exhausted so if anyone could oblige later I would be eternally grateful.

Pepperama · 24/12/2019 10:38

Thank you all, it really works! After I posted I fell asleep and feel much better today.

Ready to take someone’s worries now, they can come to church later and help with the last bits of Christmas prep.

Trumpton · 24/12/2019 10:27

Oh @NaomiFromMilkShake so much hair falling here . But altho it it very fine it still looks ok so I am holding on .
Left DH with a list and popped over to MILs as I feel ok today and I haven’t seen her for a few days as I didn’t feel up to it .
Her carer arrives any minute so I can slide off !
I can hold some worries today as I intend to rest up so I have some energy for my Christmas birthday tomorrow !

NaomiFromMilkShake · 24/12/2019 09:57

Right today I need to do the following.

Chop and sweat an onion for some stuffing.

Make the pigs in blankets.

Six presents to wrap and then we are good to go.

So I will have loads of head space, to hold other peoples worries (I now have no hair, but plenty of head space. Grin

I slept so much better last night after leaving a few of you to mind my worries. I had an early night and I'm up with the poorly baby but I'm feeling hopeful.

I'm going to mind some of your worries so you can get some sleep @Pepperama

2018SoFarSoGreat · 24/12/2019 00:10

@Pepperama I've got them. You go snuggle up and get some rest.

I shall hold your worries in my lap, and soothe them with my typing. Got lots of emails to do this afternoon.
