I am 50% of the way through chemo. (second time around)(different primary)

My DS (18) has just been diagnosed with depression I think me being diagnosed again was the tipping point.

Due to above I am having to delegate Christmas, it will get done, it did before just not my way.

DH retiring in three years, should be more than enough to live on, but at the moment I am worrying (Like I couldn't worry about that closer to the time) Hmm

Sausage rolls, my job, ditto mince pies.........if they don't happen my DH and my DS will suck it up. Just me worrying.

DS struggling in college and have to go to a meeting on Wednesday

So if some of the night shift would like to come and mind my ,worries whilst I attempt to sleep, it would be gratefully received.

Feel free to add your own, just writing that down has helped.

Here I am again. Woke up in a panick, heart racing and all that. Worrying about 2 work problems. Feeling very stressed and like I want to run away.

GenuineKlatchianPottery · 07/02/2020 23:55

I’m here for worry duty. If anyone has any worries they need watching over night, pass them over and then you can sleep easy while I watch them for you.
Sleep well.

2018SoFarSoGreat · 05/02/2020 03:43

I've got your worries too,@stressedsideways. You just breathe. Sleep. Rest.

Tomorrow is a good, deep sleep away.

2018SoFarSoGreat · 05/02/2020 03:36

@AnotherTroyForHerToBurn

You don't need to talk about anything here. Unless you want to. We just take that gnarly ball if worries and mind it for a while, so that you can rest. Rest your mind. Rest your heart. Just let it all be. For now I'm going to gather yours up and sit them right here next to me. They will be safe, but quiet. Or else I shall give them what for.

Sleep now. Shhhh. That's it.

AnotherTroyforHertoBurn · 05/02/2020 01:22

Right here I am again, wide awake.

Large glass of wine and a small sleeping tablet not working, work will be interesting in the morning. Grin

Either way bring them over here, I am happy to mind them. Whilst I mind them, I will puzzle on how much cancer they think an 85 year old might have to warrant a hysterectomy. To balance that I have been telling her for years to get it sorted.

So here to mind worries, not quite ready to discuss the mother.

stressedsideways · 05/02/2020 01:21

I've got space for some worries. My only worry is getting enough sleep and wondering if I have taken too much on. I'll park that one here and get some deep sleep Flowers

GenuineKlatchianPottery · 04/02/2020 00:36

Good morning. Signing in for worry duty, hand em over. I’ll take good care of them while you sleep. Just tuck them in, right there next to the cat. I promise he won’t eat too many of them.

MapMyMum · 03/02/2020 07:26

What a beautiful thread. I will take on some worries tonight for anyone who needs it

2018SoFarSoGreat · 03/02/2020 05:55

There's no stopping the Worry Guardians now.

nuttymoon · 03/02/2020 05:45

We've nearly had 800 posts, hopefully we can keep this going on a new thread when the time comes.

2018SoFarSoGreat · 03/02/2020 05:42

@toffeeghirlinatwirl sorry you can't sleep. This is the perfect spot to show up. We have lots of experience with insomnia and it knows better than to cause problems once parked here.

You go sleep now. Just shut your eyes. There. That's it. Shhhh.

toffeeghirlinatwirl · 03/02/2020 05:24

What a beautiful thread. I can't believe I've only just found it. Not much to say for now, just bookmarking. I have terrible insomnia at the moment and my mental health has been poor. I'm so glad I found you.

NumbersStation · 03/02/2020 05:05

@Mynewworries

You shouldn’t feel useless - you are doing the one thing your mum and dad would want you to do - nurturing the baby until he/she is ready to be born. That is plenty to be going on with!

The main thing is that your family is ok. Events have overtaken you a little but it is all good - your dad is receiving excellent care. Now you do the same for yourself.

I’m in awe about you perhaps being on your own. I hope your partner can be with you. And I’m sure friends would help you in a heartbeat. Logistics or no.

I hope you are already sleeping Smile

Signing in to hand hold
Thank you for the kind words yesterday, I'm just awake a tad early so came in to gather up any stray worries.

2018SoFarSoGreat · 03/02/2020 04:23

@mynewworries sorry to read this. For tonight I will hold your worries and fears. It's OK. Just you try to get rest. You're going to need it ❤️

Mynewworries · 03/02/2020 04:15

Hi everyone. This seems like a lovely thread. I don't know where else to share this so I will share here!

My dad had a minor op last week and unfortunately he seems to have picked up an infection. He's now been admitted to ICU which is reassuring on the one hand as at least he is getting the most attentive care, but also very scary.

I'm 39 weeks pregnant and feel totally useless and don't know how to help. I want to go to visit (parents live about 90 mins drive away) but I don't know if that's reckless as I'd have to go on my own and obviously could go into labour. I had my first baby at 39+5.

My mum was going to come to provide childcare for DS but obviously she has to stay with dad now. We've got friends locally who can help out but logistically it's a bit more complicated and increases the odds that I'll have to give birth on my own while my partner is sorting things out for DS.

I feel so guilty that this is all happening and I'm not able to help. I have a sister but she lives overseas so she can't help either. Everyone is worrying about dad and by being so pregnant I'm just adding to everyone's worries Sad

It is good just to write things out so even though I know nobody can do anything to help, thank you for reading Smile

2018SoFarSoGreat · 03/02/2020 04:00

I'm ready to lift loads of any worry type tonight. Pass them over. It's cold and windy but I've got a cozy blanket and furry cat to help settle us all. Sleep well loveys.

HannaYeah · 03/02/2020 03:43

Here! I’m here! Not hear. Lol!

HannaYeah · 03/02/2020 03:33

I’m hear tonight also to share the load.

I’m convinced that our purpose on this planet is to share one another’s burdens. I’m constantly in awe of how people find this thread when they need it.

It also feels like the jar at my corner store “have a penny; leave a penny, need a penny; take one”. Only in reverse:
If your worries are too much to bear just leave them here. If you have space to carry someone else’s worries today please take one.

Reminds me also of a precious poem. I’ll post it tomorrow.

NumbersStation · 03/02/2020 03:11

I will scoop up your worries @DramaAlpaca

Sweet dreams Flowers

DramaAlpaca · 03/02/2020 03:05

Numbers we posted at the same time Smile Glad to have you here too to help me out tonight. I'm off to sleep, with worries stuffed firmly under my pillow. I'm glad to take on a few tbh, I'm worried about work tomorrow and this will distract me. Night all.

NumbersStation · 03/02/2020 02:49

@joystir59 and @JustMyName

My goodness you are in good hands tonight with drama alpaca

Wishing you the rest you need Flowers

NumbersStation · 03/02/2020 02:46

I will hold your worries. I pray you’ll get some sleep and that your son does too.

I wish I could wave a magic wand for you and make your wishes come true but magic wands are scarce. It won’t stop me hoping for you though.

I haven’t walked your road. It sounds hard but the fact that your worry is for your son and not you, makes me want to wrap you in the biggest hug.

It is what mums do. They love unconditionally and do their best when times and roads are hard.

I will hope upon hope that you get small victories until they soothe your head and get the breakthroughs you long for. You have done nothing wrong except maybe not thinking of yourself too.

Someone better than me will maybe be along to say the right things. I find it hard to get my point across sometimes.

I hope your wee lad finds his peace and you all find yours.

I’ve got you tonight flower and I hope I’m able to help you get a couple of hours Flowers x

DramaAlpaca · 03/02/2020 02:46

Oh, just checked in and it's busy tonight. I'm on my way upstairs and I can take a load of worries up with me.

JustMyName sleep now. I've got those health anxieties for you until the morning. Try not to worry, if it's diabetes it's treatable. Don't fret Flowers

joystir59 that sounds tough. You need rest so you can be strong for her tomorrow. Sleep now while I mind those worries Flowers

WhatAMum01 worries about our children are so hard aren't they? You are a good person, no doubt about it. You want the best for your DS and your other children and it's so hard when you want to fix it but you can't. Stay strong, and I hope you and your DS get some sleep Flowers

WhatAMum01 · 03/02/2020 02:20

I'll happily mind someones worries,I'd swap them too.can someone please take mine.
ive not slept properly in 5 years,a prayer my son goes to sleep after waking again for the rest of the night.
Hes 5,he has severe Autism and learning disabilities.
Hes complete non verbal and has no understanding.
My god I worry each night about how hard it is each day and how hard itll become in the future.
I worry my other kids will have childhoods defined by the limits of my sons disabilities
I worry that each day i wont make it past this year.its so physically and emotionally demanding.
I worry my husband and I will crack soon.
I worry that if my son never talks how will he ever tell me if anything bad happens.
I worry that I've not been a good enough person and am now paying for this by receiving this life long punishment of heartache.

Please someone hold my worries, please pray my son learns to sleep and talk,if only to tell me hes ok.
