Next door's -thug- cat

Has started coming in our house and stealing cat food.
Our cats dislike him. (understatement...)
Once he's in it's a problem removing him because he growls, hisses and then attacks us (launches at our legs etc).
He spends an inordinate amount of time in our garden or staring in through the French windows. Any suggestion how to gently discourage him? I have no intention of having outside doors shut for the whole summer.
Enclosed a picture of him sitting on our outside table.

Don't try and patronise me *Bwekfush, punching any animal hard in the face is cruel. Holding a cat under water in a kitchen sink is equally cruel and if you had bothered to read the read Stillstrawberrywater you would have seen that your 'solution' is neither wanted nor warranted.

The old adage that It is best to keep quiet and be thought of as a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt fits Bwekfush & Stillstrawberrywater to a T.

Bwekfusth · 04/08/2019 11:26

@Allergictoironing after it sank its teeth in to his wrist and hand several times when he tried removing it from our house as it kept coming in, eating all our cats food and attacking him in his own territory. I did say I wouldn't actually punch a cat in the face. But some animals are just shit, much like some humans.

Allergictoironing · 04/08/2019 11:16

Stillstrawberrywater So after 3.5 MONTHS you thought you would make a suggestion without thinking about whether someone else may have already said that? The fact that the thread IS 25 pages long may have suggested that things could have moved on just a little since the OP Hmm

And Bwekfusth He punched it in the face afterwards. Hard. is definitely advocating cruelty to cats! Angry

YetAnotherSpartacus · 04/08/2019 11:12

Is this the TC version of 'cancel the cheque'?

Stillstrawberrywater · 04/08/2019 11:04

No, I did not sift through 25 pages. Op wanted a solution and I've put a suggestion forward. It's water. It's harmless. The cat runs off dries itself off and thinks twice before returning. No harm comes of it.

Bwekfusth · 04/08/2019 11:00

@CassandraCross did I advocate cruelty to animals? Or are you just feeling a tad sensitive this morning?

CassandraCross · 04/08/2019 10:53

Bwekfusth & Stillstrawberrywater how nice of you two to come on a thread advocating cruelty to animals, it is abundantly clear neither of you had the courtesy or intelligence to read the thread before posting your comments.

Stillstrawberrywater · 04/08/2019 10:45

Yep water pistol or hose. It sounds mean but you're only getting them wet but you've got to show some active disencouragement. I remember my dad taking a tomcat by the scruff of the neck and dosing it under the kitchen sink because it terrorised our pet cats when I was younger. It seemed to work from memory anyway.

Op comes back from holiday to find ndn and TC have moved into his house.

TremblingFanjo · 04/08/2019 10:26

NDN (TC's dad) is looking after our cats/house while we're away

Stage 2 complete!

YetAnotherSpartacus · 04/08/2019 09:37

I think TC will just steal the keys and let himself in.

Is NDN on MN? He should be...

Maybe he could post updates about what naughty things the Grumpy Foursome get up to...

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 04/08/2019 07:53

NDN (TC's dad) is looking after our cats/house while we're away.

Oh!

Picture the scene: NDN gets your keys in the morning and goes off to your house to feed the cats , open curtains , do trays etc.

TC sees this and wonders "What's occuring?"

After the evening feed and check, he'll twig .

Next morning , he'll slide along into your house like a Stealth Ninja .....your NDN will search and worry . TC will slide out in the evening and go home
"Been here all day" all innocent like .

Repeat next day till he's established .

He has watched all those Can't Pay We'll Take It Away series and Judge Rinder .
He knows the Law .

He'll be A Fixture

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 04/08/2019 07:04

An apologetic update to all TC's fans now facing a dearth of updates.
I'm on holiday for a week. NDN (TC's dad) is looking after our cats/house while we're away.

Ribrabrob In terms of TC's real name, I'm afraid I'm not at liberty to reveal that (NDN has asked that I don't) - but it isn't 'Fluffy'. Since this thread got underway we now refer to him as TC anyway Grin.

If your REALLY lucky he’ll wee on your walls.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 03/08/2019 11:28

Oh I'd LOVE to be Asbo's favourite Auntie!!!! Do you think he'd adopt me?
Would I need to be updated with my tetanus jabs?

Fluffycloudland77 · 03/08/2019 11:26

I will pm you if either of my neighbours sell up.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 03/08/2019 10:57

The issue for me is that I want my neighbours to adopt a TC so I can just have the fun without the responsibility :). Unfortunately, all my neighbours are dog people.

Fluffycloudland77 · 03/08/2019 07:43

If anyone wants their own TC there’s plenty available.

Ribrabrob · 03/08/2019 02:05

I too think about TC a bit too much. I really hope he knows how famous and important he is!

I have a question - what's TC's real name? I feel like he wants a really cool, thug-like gangster name but I just can't help but think it's something cutesy and sweet instead like Fluffy Grin

Nonstopbuttmachine · 02/08/2019 16:17

I spend far too much time on this thread; last night I dreamt that I met TC in a beer garden Blush

CassandraCross · 02/08/2019 15:53

That slide off the chair - brilliant!!Grin. TC looks so proud and dignified in the mouse carnage picture - look at my work (it may not be all my own work but I shall claim it as mine!).

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 02/08/2019 15:36

Spartacus
There is a dead vole outside the back door - so I do indeed have a set of 5 today Sad.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 02/08/2019 13:53

They are all leaving you presents (although you need one more to make a complete set).

How sweet. :)

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 02/08/2019 12:34

Just opened the front door to be met by mouse carnage (four dead rodents) and TC.
Before anyone claims these are gifts from TC
I'd seen Karl arrive with at least one of these in his mouth earlier.
