But I thought I'd share anyway.

This happens on our street a LOT and I just don't understand how people can be so inconsiderate, the gap between the wing mirror and wall isn't big enough for a child to slip through and the car is so huge it blocks pedestrians from seeing whats coming without stepping into the road.
Not to mention that he's parked on a T-junction.

GRR!

See, this is another difference between Americans and Brits.

We'd all be outside sitting on our porches or standing around in the street in little groups offering suggestions to the police gawping

We're the same in t'North, Pond - we would all have an opinion, and several suggestions on what to do to make things even worse for the driver when s/he returned. This could include jemmying open the boot, and putting a shackled waif inside, and shouting "How up, Officer! Look what the bugger's got in here! And the bastard eats prawn cocktail crisps, but the look of it! What a !"

Wear it into the shop fully inflated OP. And get better biscuits whilst you're there. If you'd had chocolate hob nobs this story might have ended completely differently.

ChickenDinnerChecky · 13/01/2018 18:55

UnsuspectedItem · 13/01/2018 18:40

Ashby de la Zouch Tesco.

It's a reasonable naice area so will get Looks

gallicgirl · 13/01/2018 18:36

Burslem Tesco?

They'll have seen worse. Wear the 'Corn with pride.

SimonBridges · 13/01/2018 18:36

I think ‘unicorn costume’ might become a MN code like ‘naice ham’ and ‘pombears’.

ChickenDinnerChecky · 13/01/2018 18:34

Go for the full prance OP, you've earnt it!

MadMags · 13/01/2018 18:32

Wear your horn with pride, OP.

Nobody likes a flaccid unicorn.

elfycat · 13/01/2018 18:31

No one likes flaccid.

Proud all the way

UnsuspectedItem · 13/01/2018 18:29

I have an Emergency Unicorn question.

I need to go to Tesco en route - am wearing costume, can't take it off. Do I go in proud, unicorn inflated? Or do I flap in with a flaccid steed?

Whilst ds watched his shite, this was like stepping into mumsnet of old. Shame it didn’t get towed, but I can die happy knowing that you put so much commitment in op- and marriage proposal out of it, your friends keys rescued, new rules for parking threads established and can officially confirm, you do indeed have the best taste in biscuits.
Topped it off with that brave costume!

I mean... bravo. hat tip to neighbour for alerting you to the situation

ChristmasAccountant · 13/01/2018 18:26

Best. Thread. Ever.

Cheesymonster · 13/01/2018 18:21

This thread has been like mn in the good old days.

Have a fab night op

karategirl · 13/01/2018 18:15

OP, this thread was superb. Simply superb. I hope you have a wild time at the party!

SchadenfreudePersonified · 13/01/2018 18:14

(Plus BummyMummy is legally obliged to marry me, its in writing on the internet forever now!)

Yes - that proposal is legally binding. But I'm sure that Bummy wouldn't want to do anything that would make people lose confidence in the integrity of the internet, anyway.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 13/01/2018 18:12

"Evil slutty mumsnetter damages car after provocation from snowflake coven of harpies."

I think you'll find that the collective noun for harpies is a "screech". We a infested with the blighters here in Mortificado.

I am on page 4, having got my oar in on P1, but not got back until now. It is very exciting! I think Sarah Lancashire should play the OP when they serialise it for television.

ThePlatypusAlwaysTriumphs · 13/01/2018 18:05

We could do a CF watch, where mumsnetters all over the country look out for THAT black landrover!

Oysterbabe · 13/01/2018 18:04

Gutted I didn't call the police on this one now! I didn't think they'd come.

I know I'm not being unreasonable about this parking!!! (with diagram)
bingbongnoise · 13/01/2018 18:04

@UnsuspectedItem

Disappointed that CF wasn't towed, but the police know he is not taxed now! That will to do. Grin

I love your unicorn outfit OP, and I love you too. Grin Bet you are a really great person to have as a friend.

Bless you for entertaining us all today.

I hope landrovercunt steps on lego in the dark later on though - or swallows it and has to shit it out.

Peace. Smile
