But I thought I'd share anyway.

This happens on our street a LOT and I just don't understand how people can be so inconsiderate, the gap between the wing mirror and wall isn't big enough for a child to slip through and the car is so huge it blocks pedestrians from seeing whats coming without stepping into the road.
Not to mention that he's parked on a T-junction.

GRR!

My Mum (and registered GP) is about 20 mins away so she's limited in her involvement unfortunately.

Neighbour doesn't have a better view so no need for tea.

Im meant to be going to a Fancy Dress party tonight and really should get ready but think I'll be even more conspicuous in my party outfit if I need to film on the sly.

Ooogetyooo that's a good point - could you ring 101 back Unsuspected to ask for an update...you're concerned it's going to get dark and then pedestrians are more at risk we want a tow truck photo on the thread ?

Huntinginthedark · 13/01/2018 16:02

Settling in Wine
Though I sadly think it will just get towed and that will be the end of that

ThePlatypusAlwaysTriumphs · 13/01/2018 16:01

Hmm. I still want CF to be The One! Maybe he is one of those endearing eccentric millionaire types like in a Jilly Cooper novel and he didn't realise that this particular car was untaxed when he drove off this morning? Maybe he was mad with grief as his bitch girlfriend has been treating him badly and went off with his best friend. If course once he sees the OP his grief and madness will evaporate and he will be restored to an upstanding gent again

tonysopranostherapist · 13/01/2018 15:59

Leaves placemark parked untidily on the pavemark obstructing the T-junction>

Snotgobbler99 · 13/01/2018 15:59

Tow-truck man sounds promising.

Perhaps more Colin Filth-y than Colin Firth-y...

HonkyWonkWoman · 13/01/2018 15:59

I'm actually scared 😨 of losing this thread! So shameless place mark.

Ooogetyooo · 13/01/2018 15:58

Do we actually know if a tow truck is on its way? It just occurred to me that we are all ASSUMING it's on its way, but that hasn't been confirmed.
Op is it worth calling police back and ask them if there is an update??

Nannyplumssillyoldelf · 13/01/2018 15:56

This is the best thread ever.

seizethecuttlefish · 13/01/2018 15:56

Shamelessly place marking. This is a truly magnificent thread. OP you are a God. Classics for sure.

Placemarking.

AcrossthePond55 · 13/01/2018 15:54

See, this is another difference between Americans and Brits.

We'd all be outside sitting on our porches or standing around in the street in little groups offering suggestions to the police gawping. None of this curtain twitching or dangerous chair standing for us. And the police would already have called a tow truck. None of this namby-pamby trying to find the owner shit.

Maybe that's why we're never fortunate enough to be able to start good parking threads

KeepServingTheDrinks · 13/01/2018 15:54

Flowers for OPs mother.

What a thread. Dog wondered why I was laughing. It was because of:
Angry man: Its a disgrace. Thank goodness you are here, pickle officer. There was the most ravishing woman here who was being inconvenienced greatly. If only I could find her again [flicks dark mane of lustrous hair, deep brown eyes flash]
Pickle Officer: [looking suspiciously jealous] I think you'll find we have that covered, sir. Thank you and goodbye.

misscockerspaniel · 13/01/2018 15:54

They always tow away uninsured vehicles on Traffic Cops.

MadMags · 13/01/2018 15:53

Ah, good point Rousette.

We can't have a lapsed disc in our romance.

It's back to Angry Man, Gentleman Pickle, or Tow Trucker so.

TheMaddHugger · 13/01/2018 15:52

ohh good grief, a cliff Richard video just popped up on he late night music show. Wired for sound

That takes back memories.

MadMags · 13/01/2018 15:52

Tired are you male, straight, single, in Staffordshire, and on duty right now by any chance??

Roussette · 13/01/2018 15:51

But Mad we need the man that OP is going to fall for, to be blemish free! No baggage with an unpaid bill, that will not fit into my scenario not that it's anything to do!

tiredvommachine · 13/01/2018 15:51

OP, I'm a police officer and I'd have snapped up a hot beverage and most of your biscuits Wink

InsomniacAnonymous · 13/01/2018 15:50

"I've been here since dinosaurs roamed the earth"

I've told you a million times 'don't exaggerate'!

Oysterbabe · 13/01/2018 15:49

The tow truck driver will be the love interest I reckon.

MadMags · 13/01/2018 15:49

Rousette it can't be the real one! Just something Colin Firth-y.

youarenotkiddingme · 13/01/2018 15:49

Amazing diagram Grin

I think I'd have the rage if I opened my front door and met the arse of a land rover!
