I don't know if this is the right thing to do, and I'm so sorry if not.

catthiefkeith passed away today.

I know there are mumsnetters who know her know how amazing she is, and I just wanted to raise a glass to her memory on here, where she brought a smile to so many faces with her stories of her mad life.

Rest in peace lovely lady.

Oh no! How awful. I always loved her posts, and she came across as such a lovely, kind person. Didn't she go to visit a fellow MNer in hospital? Maybe MrsK, sorry if I've got that wrong. My sincere condolences to her family and friends. She will be missed. I'm so sorry Sad.

I agree that her personal information should not be linked.

The family's Just Giving page is in aid of the Meningitis Research Foundation, details below. You can donate in CTK's name via their official just giving page, or also as slithytove said, a CTK specific page could be set up. Does it matter where you donate, as long as you do?

This is mumsnet at it's best and CTK would be so overwhelmed to see this support and recognition - she said more than once most people thought she was a troll!

I agree with not outing Keith to her family. Her husband knows, he can share it if he wants to.

That being said, I am sure a justgiving page for meningitis research in the name of CatThiefKeith would be allowed to stand. MNHQ, would it?

Then it can be shared with her husband and it may bring some comfort.

We felt it unfair that her MN and RL were linked, so if you can find a way around that, please do feel free and we will allow the link to stand on this thread.

I've only just seen this thread and wanted to send my condolences to her friends and family. As many others have said I didn't know her irl and generally I don't take much notice of user names but hers was on of the few I always remembered and looked out for because she was frankly hilarious her threads we're always so vibrant and entertaining. I'm just thinking, her daughter is very young, only around 6?

Sorry if this is insensitive but for those that knew her in real life, maybe you could go through some of her posts about some of her funnier stories, not the personal private life ones and print them off for her daughter to read when she's older?

Sorry if that's not OK to suggest.

I was thinking that too Josiah . Maybe make her threads into a book to be given to her daughter when she reaches 18

So very sad and how quickly and tragically this has all happened.
Something you just don't expect in a person so young.

This life can be so cruel.

Really don't agree with MNHQ stance on this

That just giving page gave CTK's real name. MN is crawling with journalists. Just because most of us would be sensitive with the information doesn't mean that others would be.

Far better to donate to the meningitis charities linked above.

So sorry to hear this sad news. I loved the stuck in tent post.
Two young people have died of meningitis in the last 2 years at my DD college, unfortunately the take up rate for the vaccine is only 30%. A campaign to highlight meningitis especially as many DC head of to uni or start college is extremely worthwhile campaign.

CTK was a friend of my DP and we were talking about her at the weekend as I was looking for a contact in his phone and she had the same first name as the contact I was looking for so he was telling me about her.
