I'm going to be a grandfather! Woo hoo! They haven't tuppence to rub together, so there'll be 3 generations under one roof. Still, DD is doing well after the throwing stopped, he's working all the hours God sends, and with luck I shall see New Person into their teens, as opposed to my DF who got less than 7 years of DGF hood. Wish us luck.

I miss my grandad.

This is my favourite thread ever.

MadameJosephine · 22/12/2017 12:45

I intend his mind to be lavishly and strangely furnished.

I love this, you are an awesome grandad. I wish every child could have at least one person in their life like you!

GiveMeTheTeaAndNobodyGetsHurt · 22/12/2017 11:39

Disgrace, you're the kind of grandfather I wish I'd had; never knew either of mine as they died before I was born. I wish I had had a GF who ensured my mind was 'strangely and lavishly furnished'!

What a lovely thread!

Raising a Brew (it’s a bit early for Wine) to lovely grandpas everywhere. Including my wonderful old Dad, who held my babies with so much love when they were tiny. Now the eldest one is nearly taller than him!

FannyTheFlamingo · 21/12/2017 09:25

I've just read this wonderful thread! Now I'm having a little cry because I miss my amazing DGF and I'm sad because my DD doesn't have a amazing DGF like you. But they're also tears of happiness, because this is the happiest thread ever. I need more sleep, I'm an emotional wreck! 😂

EvilDoctorBallerinaRoastDuck · 20/12/2017 14:55

Why do I think he'll have a mountain of presents twice as tall as him? Xmas Grin

BoreOfWhabylon · 20/12/2017 14:43

Thread. Of. The. Year.

Happy happy Christmas to you and your lovely DGS Disgrace

Do post a pic of you in Santa suit doling out his presents.

QOD · 20/12/2017 13:33

AHhhhh lovely 👴🏼 👶

EvilDoctorBallerinaRoastDuck · 20/12/2017 13:30

See, now I've got something in my eye.

I'm just off to vote this thread of the year.

DisgraceToTheYChromosome · 20/12/2017 10:51

He's only four months old, give him a chance! Grin

Right now I'm listening to him and Disgracefulchild downstairs. All the early hard work, the horrible teenage years, the eyewatering sums of money...blown away like cobwebs by the love I feel for both of them. Son out law is a thoroughly good egg: the kind of steady young man I wish I'd been. "Wish no man happy until he is dead". This'll do until then.

EvilDoctorBallerinaRoastDuck · 20/12/2017 08:49

I've just RTFT, and bacon with Nutella? Really? Xmas Hmm I must experiment later.

BiscuitsWithEverythingPlease · 20/12/2017 07:20

OP... your posts have been a joy to read, thank you and many congratulations to you all! The little fella is as lucky to have you in his life, as you are lucky to have him. My own DF adored my boys and they adored him too. He died three years ago and my boys are men now but they still talk about the larks, fun and happy times they had with Gramps. Merry Christmas x

BitOutOfPractice · 19/12/2017 20:54

Oh! What a glorious thread! I seem to have something in my eye!

CarcerDun · 19/12/2017 18:56

This is so lovely, and what a gorgeous little chap he is. Needs to learn more raspberry blowing skills from Grandpa, but he'll have it very soon I reckon!

HopeBreedsEternalMisery · 19/12/2017 18:24

I love this thread so much. Sadly I lost both grandfathers this year - one in September and one very recently! Very lucky that they were able to see me to 18 and go to University! Smile

You are a great grandad OP.

EvilDoctorBallerinaRoastDuck · 19/12/2017 17:33

Thinking about it, so is DS1's. Maybe it's genetic?

EvilDoctorBallerinaRoastDuck · 19/12/2017 13:24

Actually, DD's mind is lavishly and strangely furnished, and I don't think I had much to do with it... Xmas Grin

EvilDoctorBallerinaRoastDuck · 19/12/2017 10:56

Try onomatopoeia. DD's known that word since she was 2. Because we go through Trrrrriiiiiing a lot. Xmas Grin

EvilDoctorBallerinaRoastDuck · 19/12/2017 10:55

Congratulations GrandadY! I don't have a champagne emoji, will Wine do? Xmas Grin
