Anyone lost this? On my backstep if it's yours!

So. Just come in through my back gate to find this on my doorstep....anyone missing a pigeon? Not your average bird, well looked after, has got ring etc but bloody thing won't let me get close enough to get details.

It's currently attacking my pots in hope of food. Am assuming due to high winds been blown off course and is knackered. I have chucked some food out on back step (randomly had some milled linseed in...once a Girl Guide, always a Girl Guide Grin) and shut in Sassycat (cos that wouldn't end well...I'd be hoovering up feathers for weeks!!!)...

So...anyone think they've lost something today? Or have suggestions of what I could do with it? Confused

She's raced previously right, so has made it back before. She's a two-year old so not sure how many times but she is proven...

Thanks Madd...I might link this thread for him later via WhatsApp so he knows precisely how many people are waiting on news Grin

'Just stalked checked and her owner not been online since last night so hoping he's out and when he gets home she's waiting! 🙏'

OK, I need his mobile No.
He obviously doesn't know how important Pidge Gazzie is to all of Us

((((Mega Madd Hugs)))) OP

rightwhine · 11/06/2017 12:59

What's her history? How may times had she flown home or was she a newbie?

SassynSane · 11/06/2017 12:55

Absolutely Errol and hopefully she's just relishing her freedom...but as they are captively bred and trained I think they don't survive too well in the wild as it were...but yep, fingers crossed she's attending a big pidge-party!

Just stalked checked and her owner not been online since last night so hoping he's out and when he gets home she's waiting! 🙏

I've given my theory upthread of what she's up to - c'mon, surely others have observed typical pigeon behaviour?

TheImprobableGirl · 11/06/2017 12:37

Been following and hoping for gazzies safe return!

MoonfaceAndSilky · 11/06/2017 12:33

I reckon she's got a taste of freedom and she's not going home anytime soon.

SassynSane · 11/06/2017 12:20

Thank you! Forgiven Wink I prob needed a cry anyway....

Sat outside looking at pidges flying past...at least I know she was kept safe this past week after her exhausting flight in the wrong direction. At least she was looked after and cared for and brought smiles to a fair few people...

...one more smile would be perfect though DGazzie...wherever you are!

Pigeons are often talked of badly. Called the rats of the sky
But These Pidges have found Fame and Love

Pidges that have changed lived. The painted blue pidge, Gazzie and Cher Ami

SwearySwearyQuiteContrary · 11/06/2017 11:46

Come on, Gazzie! Fly safe. 🐦🌳☀️

MoonfaceAndSilky · 11/06/2017 11:33

Just come across this thread. Routing for little Gazzie - come on girl, you can do it Smile

SassynSane · 11/06/2017 11:07

I struggled sleeping but made up for it this morn (went to bed about 1am, was checking msgs at 5.55am...back to bed at 6.45am and woke half-an-hour ago Blush)...

...um I doubt it. Owner seems lovely but is older guy and doubt very much MN would be a pull for him Wink but I have him on WhatsApp so if when DGazzie does make it home I'll get him to send a pic Smile

TimeIhadaNameChange · 11/06/2017 10:49

So glad I didn't check in yesterday, wouldn't have been able to sleep.

Fingers crossed she turns up, somewhere, soon.

Oh, and can her owner be persuaded to become an MNer, do you think?

SassynSane · 11/06/2017 10:37

Morning Brew Thanks for the (((hugs))) Smile

I haven't heard anything from her owner this morn and he promised last night to keep me updated...

So. Lets hope Oubliette has got it right and after almost what, 120 hours forced cat carrier rest, she's enjoying her freedom and getting her bearings and she'll decide to head home today.

Here's a pic from yesterday morn that I didn't share with you...it was just before she got picked up. She'd settled down as she knew something was different as I hadn't fed her, so I took a few moments to wish her well....come on little Gazzie...

Weather over this end of the country is still nice. Mostly sunny, a bit of a breeze. Hopefully she's just enjoying herself before heading home.

Viewofhedges · 11/06/2017 10:21

I'm far, far too invested in this.
Come on pidge!

Goingtobeawesome · 11/06/2017 08:20

I think she beats the worry about the pigeon who was painted blue.

Come on little bird!

UrsulaPandress · 11/06/2017 07:51

Morning.

TheMaddHugger · 11/06/2017 00:28

On a different note, The local Animal Shelter might have a Pet Pidge, if you want one, It's worth an ask.

SassyKitty You didn't hear that.
