Anyone lost this? On my backstep if it's yours!

So. Just come in through my back gate to find this on my doorstep....anyone missing a pigeon? Not your average bird, well looked after, has got ring etc but bloody thing won't let me get close enough to get details.

It's currently attacking my pots in hope of food. Am assuming due to high winds been blown off course and is knackered. I have chucked some food out on back step (randomly had some milled linseed in...once a Girl Guide, always a Girl Guide Grin) and shut in Sassycat (cos that wouldn't end well...I'd be hoovering up feathers for weeks!!!)...

So...anyone think they've lost something today? Or have suggestions of what I could do with it? Confused

Just checking on Gazzie. 😊

NorksAreMessy · 07/06/2017 21:06

I think Marmalade and Stratters are one and the very same?
Buy YY Mortimer...I remember the dismembered tent

Queenofthestress · 07/06/2017 20:47

Needed this thread after a day like today! Go DGazzie!

UrsulaPandress · 07/06/2017 20:39

It was Stratters. Mortimer. Turned out to be a girl.

NorksAreMessy · 07/06/2017 19:57

I love this thread.
Anyone else remember Marmalade Twatkins' Raven? (Some of those details might not be accurate)

So just had this from her owner. This is her usual residence. She's a pigeon of means now...she has her London home and her holiday home with me in the country Grin

Anyone lost this? On my backstep if it's yours!

I'm glad the PP of A is going ahead. I can't believe how invested I am in Gazzie.

Ok update...the PP of A is go go go go! Owner is v happy. Have sent him this mornings pics...he says she looks really well looked after...he mentioned that he is racing his birds from Wetherby and has said I need to expect half a dozen of DGazzie's friends to join me soon! Shock

He has crossed his fingers she returns ok...I replied that if the MN Mafia has its way she'll be fine....but now am thinking we need a series of drones to keep an eye out for her / take out any hawks om her last leg!!!

Also...be prepared ....I will need LOTS of handholding and unmumsnetty ((((((hugs)))))) this weekend!!!

Right got 5 mins so will msg her owner about Saturday's pigeon plan of action...hereafter the PP of A...

Crikey, hadn't thought of DGazzie....the return! Shock Maybe I should pop to B&Q after work...you know...just in case I need to build a pigeon loft at the weekend? Grin absolutely didn't price-up a hutch at the pet shop when I went to buy her food

Hmmm Sassycat has never caught anything before (other than flies...which she crunches!) but in revenge at the house arrest she might just find her inner tiger!

Is it wrong that I am sat at my desk wishing I had a pigeon-cam so I could check-in with her? BlushGrin

Well, that's probably easier. 🐦

DoctorTwo · 07/06/2017 09:45

Thank you for an utterly heartwarming thread Sassy, I hope that if Gazzie doesn't get home she at least gets back to your place.

TimeIhadaNameChange · 07/06/2017 09:32

So pleased to read this update, and lovely that her owner is wanting her back. Yay! Hopefully you'll get a photo of her once she's home.

ShelaghTurner · 07/06/2017 09:09

I can see it now. Gazzie is sent merrily on her way.... Sassycat is finally allowed out to play and comes back 5 minutes later, with Gazzie as his lunch 😱

SoupDragon · 07/06/2017 08:31

Wouldn't it be funny if she flew back to her new home rather than where she's meant to go!

SoupDragon · 07/06/2017 08:30

New Malden is marginally closer to Gazzie's home than Croydon anyway I think. The least faffing about is probably better for Gaz really.

I'll msg owner later Shelagh and see what he says but hopefully she'll be ok released there. Right gotta get on...school run and work today...will update on what DGazzie's owner says later...

(I hope DGazzie won't get too lonely without me today Wink)

Blush busted! Grin

Not broken it to her yet Ursula....will have to take it slowly I think because going NC for us both is going to be very difficult Sad

And those look suspiciously like "Pots to Go" dessert ramekins!

SoupDragon · 07/06/2017 07:52

Ah, New Malden is Greater London rather than Surrey. not far from me

Had it been Surrey I could have collected him and released him from a view point in Croydon where you can see across London :)

UrsulaPandress · 07/06/2017 07:49

What a lovely thread

Anyone remember the MNetter that had a tame crow? (Not Stratters but on one of her Mortimer threads). They would go out into the garden and call it down from the sky to impress visitors.
