AIBU to ask what is the thing you've done in 2016 that's made you proudest?

For me - despite being diagnosed with Cronh's disease, I carried on doing yoga classes all year. Now I'm looser, more relaxed, and a nagging shoulder pain from a 20 year car accident has gone.

What are you proudest of? It can be big, small or miniscule.

Gosh derxa.

KrissyKringlefromCandyCaneLane · 01/12/2016 17:07

Finally started learning to drive. Fear put me off for years but I did it and my instructor thinks I'm nearly ready for my test Grin

Rorycrankle let's just hope you're feeling proud of that in the years to come, I think you will not be unfortunately. I think 2016 is one of the saddest and damaging years that I have witnessed in my adult life with Brexit being a focal point. So good idea for a positive thread OP.

I am proud of not losing my mind through sleep deprivation and keeping my son alive to his first birthday. I am seriously in awe of parents of twins and more than one, I'm not sure I can do this all again. So well done mothers.
And getting back to work and graduating from my MSc.

Changed my life after a massive MH breakdown. Asked for medical help, spent 6 months in psychotherapy and CBT, became more mindful in how I live. Left a controlling relationship and a job, in both of which I was never good enough. Wasn't too proud to lodge back with parents while working part time. Shoved my sorry arse out to interviews and got a brilliant new job starting in 2017.

More importantly - I learnt to enjoy compliments.

Ours aren't Texels which get much higher prices. I know Jimmy Douglas who bought the highest priced one. He's an old friend of my late father. It's a very rarefied market

PrincessMortificado · 01/12/2016 16:59

Learned the value of a cup of tea with extra sugar and full fat milk. If you do it right, it's like caramel!

(I lead a very meaningful life)

OhHolyFuck · 01/12/2016 16:57

Lived. I don't mean to sound flippant but due to circumstances and their effect on my mental health, well tbh, it was touch and go for a bit
But thanks to my beautiful DSs giving me a reason to keep getting up in the morning and carrying on, I'm still here and actually, I'm doing ok
Have to say too, in no small part, mn helped massively too so a thanks to everyone who read any of my many whinging threads

Become a much better, closer and stronger team with DH since DD was born.

IcedVanillaLatte · 01/12/2016 16:55

£7000?

Shock

Wut?

That'd better be a really excellent sheep.

IcedVanillaLatte · 01/12/2016 16:53

Just googled

how much does a sheep cost

and bloody hell - for £1400, does it talk or something?

derxa · 01/12/2016 16:53

That's one pricey sheep. Well I almost bought one for £7000 but sense prevailed.

RortyCrankle · 01/12/2016 16:51

Ran a half marathon in less than 2:30. I'd been injured 3 years ago and hadn't run since so got there from 0 in January. It's also really improved my mental health. I now just need to clear this bastarding cold to get back out!

fruityb · 01/12/2016 16:48

Had my son, had classes achieve excellent results in the summer and have accepted my changed and amazing body. I weirdly have lost a lot of my body issues since having him and have embraced my stretch marks and jiggly tummy. Might sound weird but as someone who hated themself that's a massive deal!

derxa · 01/12/2016 16:46

Sold a sheep for £1400 Got my Quality meat Scotland accreditation

starchildareyoulistening · 01/12/2016 16:45

Wow, there are some brilliant achievements on here! I've had a bit of a shit year, I suppose the best I can say is that I'm still working and have avoided having to take sick leave.

IcedVanillaLatte · 01/12/2016 16:45

That is, all my grades were distinctions; we don't get %age grades Grin
