and now I have no idea what to do Blush

We haven't spoke to each other since last night as we've both been working today but I'm not sure if I should contact him first or should I wait for him to contact me?

I don't know what he thinks about it and whether he thinks it meant something or it was just a casual one night stand. I'm not even sure I know tbh Blush

Should I mention this to him or just forget it ever happened and continue on as normal?

I would never joke about marriage with someone I'd just slept with for the first time - it's way too cringey and open to misinterpretation.

Anyway, no harm done in this case Smile

Chickoletta · 26/10/2016 08:56

Yay! Wonderful to check back in this morning to a happy ending. Have you phoned in sick today OP?!

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 26/10/2016 08:49

Another one here who has ended up married to the person that was their best friend.

Wine for you OP.

Are we engaged? was a genius text!

It gave him a funny get out or an easy opening.

Well done OP!

This is a lovely thread, enjoy, possiblynotAVirgin. Love hearing about everyone else's best friend experiences, too! Congratulations, everyone!
I was a bit thrown by the "Does this mean we're engaged?" text, too. Googled it and wonder if it comes from this cartoon, which dates from 1965, apparently? ImperialBlether?

NameChange30 · 26/10/2016 08:10

YAY! 😍

I have to admit, I thought the "are we engaged now?!" text was a terrible idea, but since he's into you it really doesn't matter. So glad it's all worked out, hurray!

Hope you're not too tired today after last night's shagfest Wink

DMCWelshCakes · 26/10/2016 08:10

My best friend is in the kitchen stacking the dishwasher. Together 17 years, married for 13, 2DC.

This has really made me smile. Very happy for you.

passingthrough1 · 26/10/2016 07:10

Ohhh this was lovely to read. Another one here who made the same "mistake". Imagine if I hadn't, I wouldn't have my DS and wouldn't wake up to my favourite person every day.

MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting · 26/10/2016 07:05

Just adding to the chorus of I slept with my best friend, 15 years later, we've been married 13 and have 2 children.

I think a lot of us would say it's a great foundation for a relationship.

Grinfor you
