I slept with my best friend last night

and now I have no idea what to do Blush

We haven't spoke to each other since last night as we've both been working today but I'm not sure if I should contact him first or should I wait for him to contact me?

I don't know what he thinks about it and whether he thinks it meant something or it was just a casual one night stand. I'm not even sure I know tbh Blush

Should I mention this to him or just forget it ever happened and continue on as normal?

I did this.

We've been married just over 21 years now.

Ilikegin · 25/10/2016 20:00

Ooh place marking

wellynever · 25/10/2016 19:58

I came straight to the bottom of the thread to see if he's text back!

Hope you get the outcome you want Smile

APlaceOnTheCouch · 25/10/2016 19:57

Fingers crossed for you - part of me is hoping you're so engrossed in having a lovely night together that you can't post and part of me the selfish part is hoping you manage to slip away long enough to update Grin

TaliDiNozzo · 25/10/2016 19:56

I did this and regretted it, but it took me a long time to figure out the guy was an enormous arsehole so in a roundabout way it was a good thing as it sort of brought all that to the forefront.

Years later a similar thing happened with another friend. We'd worked together for a while and were good friends. Several years and two DCs later....we seem to be doing okay with it!

TownMouseCuntMouse · 25/10/2016 19:56

Ahhh another one here who shagged her best friend...12 years, 4 years of marriage and 2 kids later and he's still my best friend. Good move, OP.

MollyHopps · 25/10/2016 19:54

OP please come back and tell, I am too invested in this thread now to cope with no answer!

I slept with my best friend. Then we didn't speak for 3 months because it was awkward. Been together 8 years now 😀

AHintOfStyle · 25/10/2016 19:50

Tell him to hurry up & answer...but maybe don't tell him about the 100's of mumsnetters waiting for his reply 😀

Rainbow14 · 25/10/2016 19:50

Place marking 😊

winkywinkola · 25/10/2016 19:47

Dying to know what happens.....

Could do with some happy endings!

Stevefromstevenage · 25/10/2016 19:46

Believeitornot · 25/10/2016 19:46

Nosy placemarking

PinkSquash · 25/10/2016 19:45

HelloCanYouHearMe · 25/10/2016 19:43

Oooohhhhh..... I really hope this has an amazingly happy ending.

fraggle84 · 25/10/2016 19:43

Shameless placemarking!

Konyaa · 25/10/2016 19:42

Place marks too lazy to watch thread

DorotheaHomeAlone · 25/10/2016 19:42

I slept with a close friend on a trip away together and we've been together 12 years now and are married with kids. Seems like a common story.

ninnypoo · 25/10/2016 19:42

Another shameless place mark, I am going to live vicariously through your romance...

wornoutboots · 25/10/2016 19:41

I'm married to my best friend too.

Hope it's all being sorted into a new reality for you, OP

DamePastel · 25/10/2016 19:41

Just be honest about what you want!

No shame in it.

I'd a similar situation except he wanted to stay friends and didn't see why sex would damage a good friendship. Hmm. So I walked away. But I didn't feel bad for being honest. I felt like, well, I know why I've spent months, hours, days in your company, because I really liked you... what the hell were you doing?? Confused I didn't feel foolish for being honest even though he didn't want me as a gf.

Flyingfruit · 25/10/2016 19:41

Shameless placemark

DorotheaHomeAlone · 25/10/2016 19:40

Love the chorus of posters suggesting you send him a light-hearted message. Hard to play it cool and breezy while dozens of MNetters eagerly await his reply. Grin

DoctorTwo · 25/10/2016 19:39

How about something cute like texting hey, need to tell my best friend about something that happened last night - you around later to catch up?

Perfect. I wish I'd done something like this after my then best friend and I first slept together. We were FWBs for a while after. But I regret my cowardice in not opening up to her how much I liked her
and would love to be part of her life. We lost touch after she met her now h.

Mirandawest · 25/10/2016 19:39

Hoping it all works out Smile
