My Neighbour is mowing their grass. They have been at it since 8am.
I don't think this is outrageous. It's a good idea to do it before it gets hot.

I know a man who funds his gambling and alcohol problem by defrauding the benefits system. He also works as an enforcer for a drug gang, beating people up in return for heroin which he sells to children. I have decided to break off our engagement.

straightouttacompton · 20/07/2016 16:53

I had a bad break-up with my ex. I don't think he has a narcissistic personality disorder though. I don't think he is a psychopath either. I think he's just a bit of a prick.

Dh has been out the front of our house without a top on today. I briefly worried what the neighbours might think. Then I decided that as he looks like a bronzed Adonis I'd stop being concerned. He's washed the car and sorted the bins out.

bigtapdancingpimp · 20/07/2016 16:34

A male colleague commented on my outfit today. Not going to bother reporting him to Human Resources or messaging his wife anonymously on Facebook.

TrickyD · 20/07/2016 16:16

There was something going on in our town yesterday evening, our road was busy. I saw someone looking for a parking space and invited him to park in our drive.

KatherineMumsnet · 20/07/2016 16:16

We're gonna shimmy this to Classics.

Farfromtheusual · 20/07/2016 16:08

I recently purchased some items in the sale online and paid £3.95 postage rather than going into the shop as I am heavily pregnant. When the package arrived, there was a security tag on one of the items. I took it into my local branch, they apologised profusely, removed the tag and refunded my postage.

Rogue apostrophe there in "neighbour's" Shock

I have also resisted correcting the spelling of some posts on a thread about thunder and lightning.

Salmotrutta · 20/07/2016 15:29

I'm laughing at named my children without outside help Grin

One of our neighbour's tinkers with motorbikes and frequently revs them up in the late evening.

I don't phone the Noise Abatement Society.

handslikecowstits · 20/07/2016 15:14

I love beef hulahoops.

GloopyGhoul · 20/07/2016 15:10

Someone upthread ended a sentence with a preposition. I corrected it in my head and thought, "my grammar's probably not perfect." I plan to forget about it imminently.

Also, LABIA amused me greatly. As did the PP with the Most Perturbed husband who bought a kebab to celebrate.

TheNoodlesIncident · 20/07/2016 15:09

Someone's house alarm went off. The noise bothered DS so we went indoors. I said it would stop soon and we could go back out then.

It did so we did.

OutOfTheStarlitSea · 20/07/2016 14:48

We'd just got home from hospital yesterday with poorly DD and the ILs arrived.

It was lovely, I don't know what we'd do without them (and I kinda wish they'd come back today!)

Didn't sleep last night, very hot. Just had a glass of wine. Probably have a drink problem. Hmm

PuppyMonkey · 20/07/2016 14:31

I saw a celebrity the other day. No need to guess who it was. It was Carl Froch, the boxer.

Does anybody else keep mentally adding "Bob is smart. Be like Bob" to the end of these posts? Confused

DiamondInTheRuff · 20/07/2016 14:07

I was walking home today and I saw what looked like an abandoned car. I wasn't sure who to contact so googled it. I rang the appropriate number, gave the man all the details, and he thanked me for calling.

I did not post a photograph of the car on Facebook asking if anybody knew who it belonged to.

itmustbemyage · 20/07/2016 14:00

My children have normal names spelt in the usual way and I don't care about anyone else's opinion.
I know people whose children have unique names, I don't comment, it's none of my business might have a slight snigger though at some of the really odd ones

MrsJayy · 20/07/2016 12:25

My neighbours children were in their garden late last night it was hot they probably couldnt sleep they were noisy its fine

Nishky · 20/07/2016 12:19

Best thread ever. Classics awaits.

I attended a meeting last night, I was very tired, I was a bit ranty and may have did jabbed my finger.

The other attendees still respect me and we will continue to work together.

meridithssister · 20/07/2016 11:53

I have breastfed my babies in various public areas. No one has ever commented on it. I have also bottle fed my babies in various public areas. No one has commented on that either.
