My Neighbour is mowing their grass. They have been at it since 8am.
I don't think this is outrageous. It's a good idea to do it before it gets hot.

Neighbours were sitting in the garden chatting, drinking, laughing and enjoying the mild weather until gone midnight last night.

I closed the window and fell asleep. It was fine.

Different neighbours parked outside my house.

I parked elsewhere and walked for 40 seconds. It was fine.

NickiFury · 19/07/2016 10:16

My friend asked me to babysit her kids. I mentioned popping out to the shop with them. She asked me if I could please stay in with them as it makes her anxious if they go out when she's not around. I said fine and stayed in with them. We had a really lovely day in the garden.

serendippity · 19/07/2016 10:16

My children will probably have to go and spend a couple of weeks with relatives over the summer without DH and I so that we can work, spend the rest of the holidays with them and they don't have to go to childcare.
They will love every second and I don't feel guilty or like a shit parent in any way Grin

MardAsSnails · 19/07/2016 10:14

I'm going to Ikea tonight. To buy stuff that I know I need. I may also buy tea lights, but not necessarily. Will depend on my mood.

paxillin · 19/07/2016 10:14

DS didn't get star of the week this year.

TheNaze73 · 19/07/2016 10:11

I'm so pleased with DH. He's bought a brand new beaker & placed it by the bedside....

chunkymum1 · 19/07/2016 10:09

My neighbour has been having some building work done. The builder's van was taking up most of our shared driveway. I could see that he was unloading heavy items so parked on the road. We had a pleasant chat when I came down the drive- he apologised if he was blocking me way, I said it was fine, he told me to knock on the door if I wanted him to move the van.

My friend has just asked me if I would be able to have her 2 DC for a couple of hours twice a week during the school holidays (other than when we are away, when her parents will come over) whilst she goes to a part time job. She has often asked for similar favours. I have agreed without hesitation, knowing that my DC will enjoy playing with them and that I ca expect wine/chocolates and some evening babysitting.

farkoff · 19/07/2016 10:00

My neighbour's dogs fucking yap and bark all the time. I despise the little pricks.

But they're dogs, and dogs make noise.

lurkingfromhome · 19/07/2016 09:59

Like coldcanary, my husband and I had a few cross words last night. Voices were slightly raised for five minutes. It all settled down pretty quickly, we continued to watch TV as before and went to bed with the issue more or less resolved.

coldcanary · 19/07/2016 09:59
Grin The last 2 weddings we've been to have been child free and we've got another one next month. I love child free weddings!
DiamondInTheRuff · 19/07/2016 09:57

We got invited to a child free wedding.

We took DS to my mum's and went to the wedding.

It was very nice.

coldcanary · 19/07/2016 09:52

We also get footballs coming over the hedge occasionally. I just told the neighbourhood kids to just come into the garden and get it because I'm too lazy to answer the door every time they do it.
DH has been tired, stressed and a bit snappy due to work pressures at the moment. We are currently getting through it by crossing off the days to our holiday and researching places to visit with the kids while we're there.
No plans to LTB.

Fontella · 19/07/2016 09:51

I had to spend a few hours yesterday afternoon hacking back all the brambles and foliage that had spilled over from my two neighbours' gardens onto a path that leads from the woods at the back of our houses directly to my back gate, and was making it inaccessible.

My next door neighbour does no gardening whatsoever and her back garden is like a jungle. Next door to her the people are nice, but again aren't into gardening and only do the minimum to keep their place tidy.

But the thing is, I'm the only one who uses the path, and I doubt they are even aware there is an issue. What am I going to do - knock on the door and tell them to cut back their foliage from a path they never use?

Nah, I just get on and do it.

Gardencentregroupie · 19/07/2016 09:49

My DSis and her 2 children stayed with me for 10 days. When she left my parents came and stayed for 3.

They were all great guests, helpful, we had a fab time and everyone got on well including DH who didn't mind his house being overrun with my family in the least.

PinkissimoAndPearls · 19/07/2016 09:46

Oh for fucks sake I can't even format a post correctly

PinkissimoAndPearls · 19/07/2016 09:45

There is an apostrophe missing from a Facebook update on my DC's school trip. I am just grateful they are taking care of 30 other peoples' children away from home and still letting us know they are safe and happy and not having nervous breakdowns as I would be doing

I haven't commented on the apauling lack of punctuation which should of left me fumming Grin

I did cry a bit last night as I was so worried about DS being away but decided if I started a thread-- about that, MN would probably quite rightly-- slaughter me.

SaltMarshPirate · 19/07/2016 09:44

I was going to pull some mince out of the freezer to make bolognese for tea. Dh mentioned that spag bol may be a bit heavy for the kids to eat in this weather. I took some salmon out instead.

moggle · 19/07/2016 09:42

I had to drive slower than I would otherwise have done for a few minutes on my commute this morning, because I was behind a cyclist on a narrow road. I didn't mind. I would rather get to work a few minutes later than risk their safety even if they were actually a twat (which strangely enough I couldn't tell just from looking at the back of them).

oh AND yesterday I was trying to give my 20mo DD lunch at a cafe and she threw it on the floor. Another mum looked over and commented "ooh she doesn't like that much does she!". I didn't feel it was a judgement on my parenting, because it wasn't, and because it was true.

HerRoyalFattyness · 19/07/2016 09:42

My 2 year old DD got hold of one of my tablets. I phoned for actual medical advice from a professional.

joellevandyne · 19/07/2016 09:39

SpaceUnicorn might have seen you there.

joellevandyne · 19/07/2016 09:38

When I drop DS at kindy, the other mums give me vague smiles and nods of greeting, then scamper off for their day without further interaction in much the same way I do.

SpaceUnicorn · 19/07/2016 09:34

I'm back from the school run. No one was wearing pyjamas and no one gave me dirty looks or made passive aggressive comments.

I've now had to park on the next street as the neighbours' builders have blocked my garage with their van, but I can't be bothered to confront them about it seeing as the last three times I've pointed out have had little effect

GirlWithTheLionHeart · 19/07/2016 09:33

Charley Grin

RNBrie · 19/07/2016 09:33

My neighbours cut back my hedge on their side yesterday, they've also taken the top off it far lower than I'd have liked. Bit irritated but definitely not shaking with anger or fuming...

GaryGilmoresEyes · 19/07/2016 09:33

My neighbours in my last house used to park over my drive every single day. It didn't bother me. I don't drive.
