Bicarbonate soda

It's cleans my oven along with white vinegar like new (and it was minging)

So I googled other uses for it and you can whiten and remove stains from teeth, so I decided to try it as I always get a stain on my bottom tooth (smoking and coffee) and I've tried everything to get it off inbetween dentist visits and ice just tried it and it's literally took the stain off in seconds!

Just thought I'd share the highlight of my night while everyone in here is in bed

If you mix it with bleach and make a paste then put it on black/yellow mildew stains around the bath and leave it for 30 mins or so then wash off, it'll get rid of the black marks. I love bicarbonate of soda.

Citrus tooth powder

1 tbsp dried lemon or orange peel
6 tsp baking soda
1 tsp sea salt

Place peel in food processor, grind until it becomes a fine powder. Add baking soda and salt, then process for a few seconds more until you have a fine powder. Store in an airtight jar.

Peppermint Toothpaste

6 tsps baking soda
1/3 tsp salt
4 tsps glycerine
15 drops peppermint oil

Mix ingredients together thoroughly until a paste forms. Store in an airtight jar

armandhammer.co.uk

Arm and Hammer is the leading baking soda brand of toothpaste if you don't want to use it on its own.

Personally I find the taste disgusting but it is very effective.

I use it as a skin neutraliser after a lactic, glycolic or salyicic acid peel.

are there two types?
one for your teeth and one for cleaning the oven/bath?

is baking soda ok to use? obviously an expensive method

rumbelina · 02/07/2016 08:07

More about the teeth please!

pinkieandperkie · 02/07/2016 08:03

I have used this for years. It is exceptional at getting the smell of sick out of carpets or in the car. Just sprinkle loads on the area and leave, I leave overnight, and Hoover up. Amazing and so cheap. Never used it for the oven but I am going to try.

I buy big bags of this. My old cat went through a phase of pissing all over the place in my ebay room. By the time I realised, there were piles of clothes that were totally stinkified, and washing alone doesn't shift cat piss smell.
A wash with bicarb sorted it.

How did you do the teeth thing? Make a sort of paste and smear it on? How long did you leave it for? I may be a bit over-excited about this.

DoloresVanCartier · 02/07/2016 07:44

I use it for EVERYTHING! Literally anything I clean I throw some BoS in too! Been using it on my teeth for years and it's the total business!! X

AvaLeStrange · 02/07/2016 07:17

Put it on your feet and the feet in socks every day to get rid of verrucas.

Winterbiscuit · 02/07/2016 01:31

It's great as a fake "Shake n Vac".

cheeseandmarmite15 · 02/07/2016 00:19

Put in trainers over night to freshen.

DramaAlpaca · 02/07/2016 00:18

A small dish of it in the fridge absorbs smells.

It's good stuff.

skivvywoman · 02/07/2016 00:17
