I have three - one doing a levels in the next couple of weeks, all huge sporty and growing,
i did bacon rolls today as pre exam thing and they all said they would happily eat a proper breakfast every day
I get up early - its no skin off my nose, maybe a bit more prep etc
Do any of you do cooked breakfasts every day? I think I should put more effort in

THEY COULD AND CAN DO THEIR OWN

My GP said to limit bacon to once a week.
Maybe go for scrambled eggs on toast!

Oysterbabe · 06/06/2016 08:45

I would be happy about having processed meat every day. Some poached eggs on toast I could get on board with, my favourite Smile

if you want to, go for it
if you don't, dont

easy

JackandDiane · 06/06/2016 08:44

they can all cook, just easier for me to do for all

A fry up is not a healthy breakfast, it's a treat.

I'd do them porridge and eggs or something if you must, but at A Level age can't they do their own breakfast on a day to day basis?

steppemum · 06/06/2016 08:44

I don't, never have done. We sometimes have cooked at the weekend.

But actually, at exam time, I might do it. Ds would adore to start the day with a bacon roll!

sleepwhenidie · 06/06/2016 08:43

I make breakfast almost every day for DH and I (and DC's), only poached eggs but we enjoy 10 mins sitting down together to eat in the morning. Appreciate that our logistics with work/SR allow this though, it definitely wouldn't be like it if it would be chaos DH had to leave the house at 7am Smile. If it suits you and they appreciate it, why not? I don't think there's any 'should' about it.

ThenLaterWhenItGotDark · 06/06/2016 08:43

Give over.

A bacon butty is fine. They'll be tubs of lard by the end of exams if they have a fry up every day.

Plus, unless you are going to go the whole Little Chef Olympic Breakfast route then a few rashers and an egg is less filling than a bowl of Alpen. (although to be fair you probably burn off more calories trying to chew the bleeding Alpen in the first place)

My son liked a cooked breakfast most mornings.
He cooked it himself from about 14 years old.
My DD likes omelettes . Ditto.

I think breakfast in a busy household is easier to manage if people prepare their own. It's not difficult.
