With a human skull in the garden?

Because I've never been in this situation before.

We've been tidying up the garden and have piles of rubble all over the place. One of our rickety old fences borders a graveyard (very old belonging to ancient church) and I'm assuming the skull sort of drifted under our fence and has been near the top of the soil for a while. I hope.

I've googled but can't seem to find much info. I'll be contacting the parish council on Monday but wondered if it warrants a call to 101 (or whatever it is) to register it just in case it's not a graveyard wanderer Confused

Anyone had a similar experience?!

Apologies - got distracted making a hanging-in-the-garden-for-out-dig den out of a curtain. I am not naturally crafty so required a bit of concentration.

The area behind the bricks (see top photo) appears to be a thick wall of rubble. I obviously haven't spent much time in there because I found this (see middle photo) bricked up doorway with lots of hooks (see bottom photo) above it.

Any cellar experts?

Beer is indeed better... Than most things 😂🍺

SoupDragon · 12/05/2016 15:48

beer -> better

Is that a correction or a statement of fact?

SilverBirchWithout · 12/05/2016 15:45

OP, glad to see you have the first aid box sorted already.

Nutella and Mr Bump kit will mean you are prepared for the majority of situations.

From Supernatural,EBear.

Thank you - I had to google to find out Supernatural is a fantasy TV series.

I think I'm beer on 19th century culture than 21st century...

BertieBotts · 12/05/2016 15:36

But you might own a smartphone with a videocamera with a light?

You need to order one of those drones from amazon. I'd send my DH over (he'd love that) but unfortunately we're a rather long way from the shire these days.

aSkullByAnyOtherName · 12/05/2016 14:48

Lud Of course - I never even thought about rebuilding! YS will appreciate that.

Still no news from the coppers. I'm pretty sure they've got nothing more pressing to attend to so I'm wondering why it's taking them so long...

It's sunny here in the Shire. In the movies, nothing really bad ever happens without a thunderstorm so I've been making preparations. I asked DD if she'd like to come on an adventure with me and she said she'd love to but did I remember that she's allergic to wind and cold aminals? 😳 Not sure how much help she's going to be either.

If you don't hear back from me within a day or two, please call the prime minister and ask him to send his SWAT team to YS's last resting place.

And no, I don't own a selfie stick

Can I come to this party dig? I can bring toothpicks, fag filters and plasticine, I can rebuild the heads. Put a face to a name!

Bolingbroke · 12/05/2016 13:32

From Supernatural, EBear.

educatingarti · 12/05/2016 13:31

Wakeup I'm happy to take over responsibility for the brushy things (whispers - they are usually just ordinary paint brushes y'know).

LMGTFY · 12/05/2016 13:22

Don't you have a selfie stick you could use to poke your camera round in that gap?

EBearhug · 12/05/2016 13:01

Who are the Winchester boys?

CaveMum · 12/05/2016 11:32

Never mind Ghost Hunters, get in the Winchester boys! If there's nothing spooky going on I'll happily keep Dean, er, "entertained" Wink

Elledouble · 12/05/2016 10:15

I'm gutted, my house is so boring Sad it's a modern-ish one that's been built onto a Victorian terrace, I did some research to see if the original house had been bombed in the war (there were definitely houses nearby that were blitzed) but no, apparently not.

WakeUpFast · 12/05/2016 09:39

A cellar?! You have a cellar?! You know what lurks in cellars don't you? Witches, ghosts, walkers and Freddy Krugers. That's what. You need a Ghost Busting team aswell. Now I would volunteer but then that leaves no one incharge of the all important brushy things Hmm Grin

Maybe your house was Yorick's old house and he has the rest of his family in the cellar? 😱

RedOnHerHedd · 12/05/2016 08:37

Funko I noticed that too, I think it's YS's long lost brother.

RedOnHerHedd · 12/05/2016 08:36

OP, do you have a small dog? Or can you borrow one? Attach a night vision camera to him and chuck him through the gap and tell him to "go fetch". And then post the video.

Funko · 12/05/2016 08:35

There's a face on the top right hand rock 😂

RedOnHerHedd · 12/05/2016 08:28

Hope you don't mind OP, but I took it upon myself to do a bit of enhancing on your pic, and this is what I came up with:

RedOnHerHedd · 12/05/2016 08:18

Two year olds these days just have no idea!

OP, what you need is one of those lamps that they use for lamping. Big and bright. Will light the whole tunnel all the way to the church. THEN take a photo.

We're all behind you hiding under the stairs just in case you scream.

MistressWeatherwax · 12/05/2016 07:56

Kudos to you OP - with your skulls and your hitherto mysteriously forgotten about boarded-up cellars, you are really spoiling us.

aSkullByAnyOtherName · 12/05/2016 07:44

Here's my pants attempt. Going to arm myself properly, get backup (two year old was less helpful than I'd hoped) and go in again.

This won't end well, you mark my words!
