With a human skull in the garden?

Slippersandacuppa · 07/05/2016 20:45

Because I've never been in this situation before.

We've been tidying up the garden and have piles of rubble all over the place. One of our rickety old fences borders a graveyard (very old belonging to ancient church) and I'm assuming the skull sort of drifted under our fence and has been near the top of the soil for a while. I hope.

I've googled but can't seem to find much info. I'll be contacting the parish council on Monday but wondered if it warrants a call to 101 (or whatever it is) to register it just in case it's not a graveyard wanderer Confused

Anyone had a similar experience?!

Look, DD is already sick. Strap a video camera to her head with duck tape and send her down. If she never comes back, at least you will no longer be dealing with vomit!

(Hope she's better soon!)

educatingarti ooh yes, that's a bit spooky!

mnaab · 12/05/2016 23:56

I'm still intrigued by the bricked up coal she'd and disappearing owners....

educatingarti · 12/05/2016 23:04

Can anyone else see the faint outline of a figure in the bricked up doorway.

RedOnHerHedd · 12/05/2016 22:29

Oh, he said the hooks would've been for hanging meat/game. And fair play OP, you've done well, cos I don't like the look of that cellar, it's a bit creepy. Do t blame you for not wanting to go down there but would absolutely judge you badly for not knocking that wall down, or at least a brick or two Grin

RedOnHerHedd · 12/05/2016 22:26

DH is an architect and his professional opinion is "well they haven't done a bad job of it (the bricking up), there's electric running through there, but I wouldn't want those hooks"

mateysmum · 12/05/2016 22:11

Your local bobbies are clearly not much cop (pun intended). I think you need to call the Midsomer lads. Inspector Barnaby can smell a dead body a mile away and he's going to be very interested in that bricked up cellar.Smile. HTH

SilverBirchWithout · 12/05/2016 20:31

Could the doorway have led to an outside entrance in the past? When I was young, lived in a house with a cellar, it also had an outside entrance down some steps. To allow delivery men access to the cool store, I guess.

Is the cellar close to the kitchen above? Those hooks were for hanging meat, poultry and such like. You could of course use them for dead bodies if you so needed. Grin

Funko · 12/05/2016 20:12

And ... More helpfully. It was bricked up from other side. Bet you could knock that down with ease or with help from couple of burley chaps pushing from this end

Funko · 12/05/2016 20:09

I'm still drawn to the cartoon face in rock lol 😂
That is soooo cool though. If be dying to explore

HookedOnHooking · 12/05/2016 19:58

Opooph hooks are a bit sinister.

Fivetoomany · 12/05/2016 19:24

Obviously you need to knock through the bricked up doorway. I think it's quite silly that you didn't realise that while you was down there. Off you trot op. I expect an update in an hour or so Wink

IfTheCapFitsWearIt · 12/05/2016 19:21

Duh... Ignore me they are this sideBlush

SoupDragon · 12/05/2016 19:19

Maybe the hooks explain YS's hole in the head.

IfTheCapFitsWearIt · 12/05/2016 19:19

Oh well done scull!

They are ror storing meat.

How big is your cellar?! Are the hooks at the other side of the door or this side?

Natsku · 12/05/2016 19:19

Ooo judging by the hooks that is clearly where they hung the dead bodies.

SoupDragon · 12/05/2016 19:18

Is the bricked up doorway on the church side?

aSkullByAnyOtherName · 12/05/2016 19:16

Sorry, it rearranged them.

You get the gist.
