I am crying at 'toaster than toast'. Brilliant.

'To the left' however is followed by 'to the right. Step it up step it up ors alllright'.

AmberNectarine · 27/04/2016 23:40

When asked the time I always say 'time you got a watch', however inappropriate the circumstance

If I ever mention that something comes in a two-pack, my DH has to sing Changes by 2pac. He also does the Question/destiny's child thing mentioned upthread.

Iambubbles86 · 27/04/2016 23:35

I make up words to instrumental theme tunes for example EastEnders = "every-one is going to die, die die die die die, in horrible waa-aays"

MrsSnufkin · 27/04/2016 23:33

Love this thread.

If I'm directing DH and 'to the left' is mentioned I always follow up with 'everything you own in the box to the left.'

Also glad it's not just me who sings Donald where's me trousers... (For ages I thought i'd actually made that song up until I randomly heard it at the end of an episode of Come Dine With Me).

Piffpaffpoff · 27/04/2016 23:22

I think I've been singing "Waterloo! How did it feel when you won the war?" I knew it wasn't right but couldn't work what it actually was.

YourLeftElbow · 27/04/2016 23:21

The Sausages dog was in That's Life. It also said "Gladys." It's the beat clip on YouTube by a mile.

ChesterFuckingDraws · 27/04/2016 23:18

In joke with my dad If Anyone is talking about ducks we have do a wee ducking motion (sort of Bob my head down)
It's s bit embarrassing when I do it and folk do t know the "joke"
Bloody hilarious when done with likeminded people though!
Dad: was out for tea last night had duck* to start

  • both Bob head down then start laughing get some HmmConfused faces from the uninitiated!
Quodlibet · 27/04/2016 23:14

Rather than asking if the other would like one or two slices of toast, we offer 'toast and toast'. This leads to a rendition of 'Let's get toast...toast and toast. Toaster than you ever can imagine, toast...' to the tune of Rosie Gaines' Closer Than Close.

Haffdonga · 27/04/2016 23:12

Another cat here that gets Circle of Lifed (held aloft while ds sings Naa Savenyaa!) before he's allowed to sit on ds's lap. Every time.

spankhurst · 27/04/2016 23:12

I salute single magpies, without fail, no matter who else is there. I also mutter morning captain, how's your wife? If I didn't do this, the world would end.

Middleclassmumnetter · 27/04/2016 23:10

What have you been singing poff Grin?

Piffpaffpoff · 27/04/2016 23:10

I used to sing 'this is Metanium' instead of 'this is insania', by The Orange One

elephantoverthehill · 27/04/2016 23:08

Oh Waterloo station has to bring on 'Waterloo Sunset' Shirley. Grin

Fueledwithfairydustandgin · 27/04/2016 23:07

When DS sneezes I say bless me bless my soul it's Mary poppins and I sing titanium every time I use the metanium nappy cream

Piffpaffpoff · 27/04/2016 23:04

I've been singing the wrong words to Waterloo all these years??? Blush

Unicow · 27/04/2016 23:04

This will sound weird but when there is an instrumental theme tune on TV (eg Coronation Street) I sing the title along to the tune (Co-o-ro nation street). Drives my kids mad

I had no idea there was someone else who did this! ( although it's co-ro-oro-nay-shun streeeeeet)

Yes to hammer time, monty Python quotes, gold, flash aaah, garlic bread and we built the pyramids. In fact yes to most of these...

If I see 11.58 on a clock I have to sing "2 minutes to midniiiiiiight the hands that threaten dooooooooom."

DeadAsADildo · 27/04/2016 23:02

If any one says 2:30
We say time for your dental appointment

kelper · 27/04/2016 23:00

It was for Walls sausages, the dog would say "walls" instead of sausages.

I've remembered another, if someone says "hang on" i put my hands in the air and hold on to an imaginary trapeze. No idea why a trapeze.....

elQuintoConyo · 27/04/2016 22:57

I remember the sausages dog! And we do the same! GrinGrin

I always have to sing out 'I was defeated you won the war!' Whenever I see a sign/reference to Waterloo station.

Luckily I don't live in London so this compulsion is not too debilitating.

Piffpaffpoff · 27/04/2016 22:48

In the tv programme Teachers, there used to be a random donkey appearance in each episode, and whoever saw it first between me and DH had to shout DONKEY. Now, whenever we see a donkey in real life , you have to shout out DONKEY. Sometimes in the style of Donkey from Shrek. The DCs are bemused.

When the DCs take their Crocs off, I sing 'get your crocs off, get your crocs off honey' a la Primal Scream.

Conversely, when they are putting any kind of boot on, I sing/shout 'Get your boots on!' as per Love and Pride by King.

jeavcike · 27/04/2016 22:48

I also do the 'it's cowboy time' thing at ten to ten mentioned above and then sing the theme tune!

mysteryknickers · 27/04/2016 22:48

When the DC ask what's for tea and it's sausages I have to growl 'sausages' like that dog that could supposedly talk, in the 80s. They have no idea what I'm on about or why that counted as entertainment 30 years ago.
Anyone else know what I'm on about?
