Sing the end bit of International Playboys. Can't help myself, it just comes out.

Go on then people. Out irrational odd habit that one....

I realise Eric Morecambe doing Jimmy "Snozzle" Durante is a random one, so I'll just leave this here.....

If DH & I are going anywhere I always say 'Ready when you are, Sergeant Pembury'. It's what Hannibal Lecter says to the police officer when he's in the cage. Just before he slaughters them & hangs them up by their entrails.

Sukebind · 30/04/2016 20:01

I always say 'Round the Johnny 'Orner' every time we go round one.
I say, Home again, Home again, Market is done!' when we get home, even if we have not been shopping.
My parents and I always toast my brother whenever we have drink because he always insists on toasting himself when he's here in a sort of faux arrogant way.
Dh and I have a Kimmy Shmidt dance. And a One Tree Hill dance (only we call it One Tree Bill).
I always sing 'They developed toooes, they built the pyramids' to the Big Bang tune because for ages I thought that is what it said. Blush
I also do the Wayne's world headbanging to Bohemian Rhapsody.
That's just the ones I can think of off the top of my head but we also do loads of Airplane, Father Ted, Black Books, Parklife, etc., etc., etc.

Vaara · 30/04/2016 19:53

If we're going to the zoo we have to sing "we're all going to the zoo tomorrow, zoo tomorrow, zoo tomorrow, we're all going to the zoo tomorrow, we can play all day" etc etc. DC love it.

DC and their grandad, every time they finish a drink out of a disposable plastic cup (or even sometimes a yoghurt....) do an "impression" of Eric Morecambe doing Schnozzer Durrante. Complete with mashing the keyboard. DD has been doing it since before she could walk.... Confused

I was on the phone to my solicitor a few weeks ago and we both said the same thing at the same time and he started singing Meat Loaf "you took the words right out of my mouth" then said "oops best not sing the next line".
Whenever my DS does his "I want" mantra in town I burst into I tell you what I want, what I really really want" with over exaggerated dance routine. Shuts him up every time.

elephantoverthehill · 30/04/2016 19:34

'I'm starving' = Hank Marvin cue 'Apache'
'Round the outside' = Rendition of 'Buffalo Girls'
'Salt and Pepper' = 'Push it, push it real good'

Girlwhowearsglasses · 30/04/2016 18:58

Ooh I thought of another.

From the Fast Show.

If I'm designing something and it's going to be black

Everhopeful1 · 30/04/2016 18:24

If anyone says 'How' and pauses, I have to lift my palm up and say 'How' back - drives my kids crazy and anyone who never saw the TV programme.....

Melliphant · 30/04/2016 17:53

I'm afraid our DS grew up thinking it was perfectly normal to sing (loudly) "Eddie Stobart" to the tune of the Hallelujah Chorus when passing one of their lorries, and "Norbert Dentressangle, look at it from my angle" to Bermuda Triangle. He quickly discovered it wasn't on a school trip Blush

LetMeBakeCake · 30/04/2016 16:59

I cannot move a sofa without shouting "PIVOT! PIVOT!!!

Mightywease · 30/04/2016 16:58

If me or the DH have lost something we have lost something we always ask the other "Is it up your arse?" Blush Grin

It goes back to an incident years and years ago when we were on a bus in London one Christmas, we were a bit inebriated and so were a group of blokes also on the bus. As they were getting off one of them said "Where's the cash machine?" and his mate relied "Is it up your arse?" which DH and I thought, in our merry state, was the funniest thing ever and the phrase stuck.

However I have to bite my tongue if someone else says they've lost something in case I say it!!

Moxxygirl · 30/04/2016 16:29

When the theme tune for QI comes on the beat just fits the name " Petunia" - so I sit the singing " 🎶🎶 Pettunia , petunia .........." 😂

tethersend · 30/04/2016 15:04

I recite this every year at the beach

grumpmitchell · 30/04/2016 07:56

If anyone says 'that's 'andy 'arry', I have to say 'stuck it in the oven'. It's from some advert for frozen chips.

Also I have to say 'a crocodile sandwich and make it snappy' when a waiter has just taken our order. I always wait until they're out of ear shot though.

ChipperCharlie · 30/04/2016 07:15

DD has a school friend called Ruby. Every time DD talks about her I find myself crooning "Ruby, Ruby, Ruby, Rubeeeeeeeeeyyyy!"

When Ruby came for tea, she was a bit Hmmwhen I launched into the same.

dodobookends · 30/04/2016 00:39

If ever anyone says "See you later Alligator" I have to say "In a while...... dickhead"

Thanks, Lee MackGrin

EBearhug · 29/04/2016 18:31

Surely everyone says "I'll be back" in an Arnold Schwarzenegger voice when they temporarily leave a room...?

No. It's "I may be gone some time" like Captain Oates on the Scott expedition. Except we expect to come back, sometimes quite quickly, rather than freezing to death.

Waydugo · 29/04/2016 18:05

If my ds says he can't do something I always reply 'Course you can Malcolm!'
When we're on holiday in the States any sighting of a sheriff's car is followed by DH saying I shot the sheriff but I didn't shoot the depudee in a fake Bob Marley/ Deputy Dawg voice. Grin

YvaineStormhold · 29/04/2016 17:14

Do I mean ringtone?

The brr-brr noise that means it's ringing.

YvaineStormhold · 29/04/2016 17:13

Every time I hear the ring tone through the hands free on my car I have to sing

'I'M IN THE PHONE BOOTH IT'S THE ONE ACROSS THE HALL'

Like Debbie Harry at the beginning of Picture This.

Moistly · 29/04/2016 16:37

bomfunk I am DELIGHTED by your Partidgisms Grin the fact that your parents have never asked about where "YES its an extender" comes from is the icing on the cake

I'd forgotten about the fact that I introduced Dh to the League of Gentlemen a few months ago. Anytime we talk about something local he delights in booming "this is a LOCAL shop for LOCAL people" etc Grin

StrawberryandCreamPips · 29/04/2016 15:53

Everyone in our family says the word "beetroot" in a daft falsetto voice. Can't for the life of me remember why.

Thanks for this hilarious thread, my ribs are aching.

SoupDragon · 29/04/2016 15:46

Surely everyone says "I'll be back" in an Arnold Schwarzenegger voice when they temporarily leave a room...?

SoupDragon · 29/04/2016 15:44

I have to say "anderlay, anderlay" with a dreadful faux Mexican accent. I think it was from some awful 70s pseudo-spanish song?

I believe it was from Speedy Gonzales, a cartoon.

DoubtfireDear · 29/04/2016 15:35

This may out me, but whenever my dad or I enter each other's houses, or enter a room that one of us is in, we always open the door and call, "Ye in, Margaret?".

My granny was called Margaret and her friend would call this out if she popped into my grans house. My gran has been dead 10 years now and its still stuck with us.
