PurpleDaisies · 22/03/2016 21:24

Bollocks, posted too soon. The link os the rules relating to the two term limit. Roosevelt served before it came in.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 22/03/2016 21:23

X post Steff.,there you go.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 22/03/2016 21:22

They must have changed the rules if that's the case Skip'

steff13 · 22/03/2016 21:22

Franklin D. Roosevelt served four terms.

Yes, and that was prior to the ratification of the Constitutional Amendment that says you only get two.

lostincumbria · 22/03/2016 21:22

So that's where "a Bush in the hand is worth two in the White House" comes from?

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 22/03/2016 21:21

And Bill Clinton was President.

Hilary Clinton is now trying to become President.

megletthesecond · 22/03/2016 21:21

'Gulf War each'. Terrifying really when you put it like that 7.

steff13 · 22/03/2016 21:21

So George Bush and George Bush are different people?

George Herbert Walker Bush
George Walker Bush

Two different people.

RattusRattus · 22/03/2016 21:20

Franklin D. Roosevelt served four terms.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 22/03/2016 21:20

Yes lost. Two George Bushes. One is distinguished by his Middle initial -W.

steff13 · 22/03/2016 21:19

Lost - you can do 2, have a term out and run again. You just cannot do more than 2 consecutive I think.

No. You get two terms total.

7Days · 22/03/2016 21:19

No there were two George bushes. Father and son with Clinton in between.
They had a gulf war each. Easy to feel it was never endingGrin

lostincumbria · 22/03/2016 21:19

So George Bush and George Bush are different people?

megletthesecond · 22/03/2016 21:18

lost no, his dad did one (?) then George did two.

What's it been lately? Reagan, Bush, Clinton, Bush, Obama.

RougeEtNoir · 22/03/2016 21:18

No, Bush did 2 terms too - 4 years each. His dad did 1 term.

Gazelda · 22/03/2016 21:18

Lost he didn't do more than 2 terms. Are you sure you aren't counting both George Bush and his son George W Bush? Both served as President.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 22/03/2016 21:18

Clinton?

Thats Hilary Clinton. She hasn't been President at all.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 22/03/2016 21:17

There was George Bush.

And george W Bush.

lostincumbria · 22/03/2016 21:17

And Clinton's trying again too.

MrsH1989 · 22/03/2016 21:17

Lost - you can do 2, have a term out and run again. You just cannot do more than 2 consecutive I think.
