Because that is what Asda substituted in place of my minion sweets!

That's gonnabe in the Sunday Magazine.

"Ejay EXPOSED - Was the fabled CONDOM CONUNDRUM a "mistake" by Tesco, or a complicated plot of revenge and subterfuge?! Turn to page 32 to find out more...."

WatermelonWomble · 26/10/2015 18:56

00100001, you missed out how many bedrooms and how much their house is worth!

Sirzy · 26/10/2015 18:53

Love it! I am still trying to figure how they logically made that substitution

HerdOfRhino · 26/10/2015 18:51

This thread has made me laugh Grin

Apartridgeamongstthepidgeons · 26/10/2015 18:49

Haha that's the funniest thing I've heard in a while, thank you OP and Tesco Grin

I've never had anything funny as a substitute but have had a fair few random items thrown in that I haven't ordered.

When I do an online shop I always have a giggle when I put something in my trolley and it comes up with a suggestion of items that other people bought along with that item, the best was suggesting tomato ketchup after I'd bought bin bags Confused to be fair though I did need some Grin

pandarific · 26/10/2015 18:04

I am imagining complaints about the jellies being too chewy.

ejay Halloween Grin your poor DH. Do you have randy neighbours? Or neighbours with a shed load of DCs? You could post them with a little note.

Ejay1808 · 26/10/2015 17:56

00100001 - the article writes itself! I'll set up a fund raising site - I've even managed to offend DH by exclaiming we won't even be able to use them as they are extra large...

BLUNDER IN ONLINE ORDER - CONDOMS SENT TO CHILDREN!!!

Mother of two, Ejay, only wanted her YOUNG CHILDREN, to take part in a Hallowe'en custom. Imagine her SHOCK, when she discovered Tesco sent her CONDOMS instead of sweeties! Her children, Jay-Zee and Little CharLee (pictured) asked where were their sweets they had picked, so they could share with their friends? Ejay (a war veteran and orphan) spoke to me, barley hold back THE TEARS. "I just wanted my neighbour kids to have a good time Trick or Treating". As she cuddled her eldest (Jay-Zee, 4 - saved a kitten from a fire last Tuesday) he started crying. "My kids are so upset, I mean, we just wanted a few treats. We think this is some sort of TRICK" If it wasn't bad enough to cope with just this, Ejay (Founder of Child's Wishes Charity) spoke of her little daughter, Little CharLee (3, and saved a man's life on Monday). "Little CharLee asked me what was in the box! I broke down. My Baby's INNOCENCE has been broken. I had to tell her it was CONDOMS." It was at this point, the family felt unable to continue the interview. Tesco have apologised for the MISTAKE and sent round extra sweets, some costumes, some party kit and a £400 gift voucher. But we say, this isn't enough! Donate here, and give those little kids the HALLOWE'EN THEY DESERVE!!!

I was laughing with one of the delivery drivers once about some weird substitution they'd given me and he said the best that he'd seen was when someone ordered sanitary towels and they substituted it with razor blades Grin

MrsSalvoMontalbano · 26/10/2015 17:39

Sternin Grin

laughingatweather · 26/10/2015 17:38

That's excellent!.

My best sub was when I ordered a bag of frozen scallops to use in a risotto and received ONE fresh scallop on the half - shell.

What did they think I could do with just one?.

Pipbin · 26/10/2015 17:38

It almost beats the octopus for a loaf of bread, but not quite:

Marzipanface · 26/10/2015 17:38

Ridiculous substitution! I was subbed KY jelly in place of thrush cream once!

MyCatIsABiggerBastardThanYours · 26/10/2015 17:36

That's just fantastic.!

Has to be a candidate for a Daily Fail sad face article and picture, surely!

OnlyLovers · 26/10/2015 17:36

That's the funniest substitution yet!

ShebaShimmyShake · 26/10/2015 17:36

You have to wonder who on earth thinks condoms are a good sub for haribo.

I think they taste pretty similar, actually...

HoobleDooble · 26/10/2015 17:35

Are you thinking of condoms in the shape/colour of minions or condoms for minions to use?

I am overthinking this!

Sternin · 26/10/2015 17:35

The Tesco website once suggested we bought condoms as they'd ran out of formula milk. It's a bit late for that!

MrsSalvoMontalbano · 26/10/2015 17:35

*has to be the best substitution ever^
Yes!!!!!!!

miaowroar · 26/10/2015 17:34

OP Halloween Grin

One substitution I heard of (but about fourth hand) was a toaster for a kettle. Halloween Confused

WotNoLoobrush · 26/10/2015 17:27

I've heard about these weird substitutions with online ordering but that takes the biscuitGrin

KingJoffreyLikesJaffaCakes · 26/10/2015 17:23

Condoms instead of Halloween sweets?

You need to tell the papers about this. Can you arrange some sadface children in their costumes for the photo?
