Dear 00100001,

thank you for your recent submission to the Daily Mail newsdesk. Although we appreciate the time and effort that obviously went into submission, we are unable to print it. Please find some notes from our editorial guidance handbook which may assist you in future :

  1. All articles must include reference to one of - (a) asylum seekers (b) immigrants

n.b. you have double commission if the work "Islamist" can be prepended

  1. All articles must reference house prices. Ideally in a way that conveys Fear Uncertainty and/or Doubt.

  2. All articles must reference the EU in a pejorative manner.

  3. Royal references are never wasted

we hope these tips are of use, and look forward to your next submission

lots of (heterosexual) love

PotOfYoghurt · 27/10/2015 15:46

I remember reading (possibly on here?!) that someone ordered 10 jars of pasta sauce and 10 packets of pasta for a big dinner or something. They sent them the 10 jars of pasta sauce and substituted the pasta with another 10 jars of pasta sauce.

I once order 5 pots of the porridge you add hot water to.
I was substituted 5 boxes of 10 sachets of porridge... 50 sachets. This would have been fine but I was using a water cooler with a heat setting to fill them in the office with no kitchen access. ??

PiperIsTerrysChoclateOrange · 27/10/2015 15:07

Well jonnies and jellies sound similar lol

lorelei9 · 27/10/2015 15:03

in one way, it's a great idea Grin

but there's no point giving them to kids who are too little and will waste them as water balloons or some such.

IceBeing · 27/10/2015 15:03

YABVU. Getting minion sweets instead of extra large condoms would be an actual catastrophe....

stopfightingandtidyupthismess · 27/10/2015 14:57

We really did once have condoms instead of a pregnancy test. Was hilarious handing them back to the delivery driver explaining why we didn't want that particular substitution! Delivery man said something along the lines of "its a bit like closing the barn door after the horse has bolted!"

ShebaShimmyShake · 27/10/2015 14:55

You absolutely should tell the press, it's so funny.

FFSYourself · 27/10/2015 14:40

It's definitely newsworthy (not proper news but the funny news) I love 00100001s post.

What on earth did the delivery guy say when he/she told you about the substitution. Shock

Was it actually listed as a substitution in your paperwork?

Crying with laughter in case you thought I was sad I was unable to clutch my pearls.

Lynnm63 · 27/10/2015 14:33

I'm actually crying. I came on thinking someone was feeling a bit grumpy with kids knocking on your door and imagining how Id feel if someone put condoms in my kids trick and treat box.

MrsUltra · 27/10/2015 14:09

computer was cutting out the middle man Grin
priceless!!!!!

elflinwebb · 27/10/2015 14:08

We got spray on deodorant instead of shower gel? But was told by the delivery driver that his computer thing had told him to substitute condoms for a pregnancy test ( and he had to oblige , it's like the computer was cutting out the middle man Grin )

florentina1 · 26/10/2015 20:48

I just wish I had not opened this thread. I thought it was a brilliant title because you were fed with the kids knocking on your door.

cakesonatrain · 26/10/2015 20:15

Thanks Mrs Halloween Smile

MrsUltra · 26/10/2015 19:44

cakes (great name!!!!!!)
Me too! Was all prepared to be judgy, then was the best thread ever.
We really need this light relief in these dark times Grin

cakesonatrain · 26/10/2015 19:41

Ha! I opened this thread thinking you were actually planning to hand out condoms to teenage trick-or-treaters, as they're too old for sweeties and what with all the mischiefaand underage drinking they could do with some condoms.
That would be an excellent mn pearl-clutching thread, but this one is better!

PoundingTheStreets · 26/10/2015 19:40

Absolutely brilliant! Grin

MrsUltra · 26/10/2015 19:17

00100001, you missed out how many bedrooms and how much their house is worth!
love it!!!!!!!!!! the wit on MN is just priceless!
