Did I really say that?...

Still cringing 24 hours later after saying something embarrassing yesterday... I think there have been similar threads before but does anyone want to share 'can the ground just swallow me up now' moments?

At my regular fitness class and someone who goes usually has issues with stitch and we sometime have a chat about how far in advance of exercise we eat, just small talk. Yesterday I asked him had he had his usual pre-workout snack. And then I said... 'I thought of you when I was eating a banana earlier'. WHAT?! Why?

Whilst eating a really messy peach last summer my boss (the nice one that is very handsoome in an older man type way) leaned over my shoulder to look at something on my screen and I said, 'Don't come too close I might get my juice all over you' Blush Blush Blush

"Teabag me baby" GrinShock actually dying.

On a similar note, on my first KIT day at work my system login hadn't been reinstated. I sauntered up to the IT lads and asked "Hello! Could one of you lovely chaps turn me on please?"Blush

Said to a mum friend when DS1 couldn't make up his mind - 'Oh he's so contrary". Her name was (is) Mary Blush

When I worked in a busy 'local' pub one of the beers in was pulling smelled off plus it ran down the side of the glass over my hands , so to let the regular know how off it smelt, I held two fingers out to him and said "smell my fingers" cue all the regulars falling off there stools with laughter Blush

As a young, very naive teenager, I asked my boss if anyone was booked out of the office on a particular date because I 'wanted to have it off'. A couple of the sales guys volunteered their services Blush

I asked a colleague to pass me a tea bag inve using the immortal words 'tea bag me, baby' Blush

NotBanksy · 07/05/2015 09:35

I said 'love you, bye' accidentally to the teenage cashier on the checkout in Cadbury world once, he looked as confused as I was mortified Blush

On my first day back from maternity leave, I signed off an email to my boss with a kiss.

whitecandles · 07/05/2015 09:25

Having spent the weekend with my boyfriend, on the Monday morning after, I addressed my colleague as 'baby'.

FruChristerOla · 07/05/2015 09:16

Not me, but said to me. I was having a slightly heated, but good natured, discussion with a younger colleague about a new project. Clearly a bit exasperated by something I'd said, he blurted out "oh for god's sake, Granny" Grin

We looked at each other for a few seconds and then burst out laughing.

I'm sure there have been plenty of moments for me...I just need to remember them...

Flyinggeese21 · 06/05/2015 23:24

Just me and you then Ruperts! My first ever thread and hardly anyone relates!

Flyinggeese21 · 06/05/2015 19:16

I don't think so, Ruperts but the few seconds after I think I've blanked out! Good work brazening that one out. It's the only option.

Hahaaa!! Did you do that tounge-poking-into-cheek with complimenting hand gesture too???

Mine would be calling my boss dad, but not directly to him but in a conversastion with another senior colegue next to him...."shall we see if dad can change the meeting".....I brazened it out...but my face was on fire!
