Aibu over lady using my parking spaces.

We live in a housing estate and each house or flat has one or two spaces allocated to them. Most of the spaces are directly outside our houses except a few that are round the side that have garages. The spaces aren't numbered but everyone seems to know who's is whose. There's a new neighbour that has moved in next door to me (a corner house) and has a garage parking space round the back of her house, however she uses both my spaces as she parks in the middle of them. It's quite annoying when there's nowhere else to park as you have to park further down the road.

I went over today and introduced myself and poilitley told her the spaces were mine and hers was round the back but she was welcome to use our other space when we don't have guests but could she park to one side so I can fit my car next to hers. She looked at me with a blank expression, said no and shut the door on me! What do I do now!? I just stood there for a moment open mouthed and then went home.

Now I'm not sure if she has mobility problems as she's not exactly nimble anymore (about 65) but I am shocked at her one word reply!

If you can just park behind her. And in her spaces (if you have more than one car...)

I hate people parking in my space. And regularly block them in. They don't like it.

Place marking hoping that this will be a thread that keeps on giving

EnriqueTheRingBearingLizard · 14/02/2015 22:25

In this instance I'd love to freeze over my spaces and instal real life penguins.
That'd learn her and be lovely for local DCs as well Smile

BigRedBall · 14/02/2015 22:22

Don't worry ilovelamp, sex on valentines night is way overrated.

ilovelamp82 · 14/02/2015 22:18

Yep, send your dh round and come back and tell us what happened.

(A little sad that my excitement on Valentines night is waiting to find out what crazy parking neighbour lady says)

BigRedBall · 14/02/2015 22:15

Yes, send your DH around now!

then come back and tell us what happens because I'm nosey

SauvignonBlanche · 14/02/2015 22:10

Are you able to block her in?

DinosaursStillExist · 14/02/2015 22:10

How about sitting in the car blaring your horn until she moves?Wink I'm sure the other neighbours won't mind

bwow · 14/02/2015 21:59

I've had this and our spaces are marked. I block people in, oddly they know which door to knock on to ask us to move! I never get up on the first knocks either. Makes my blood boil.

DuelingFanjo · 14/02/2015 21:59

What does 'it's quite annoying when there's nowhere else to park' mean? If they are all allocated then by definition you can't park anywhere else.

MarkingMyPlace9 · 14/02/2015 21:55

Get some please!
And deff send DH round to get her to move. How rude to just say no and slam the Door in your Face!

MarkingMyPlace9 · 14/02/2015 21:49

Haha at Penguin Bollards Grin

FishWithABicycle · 14/02/2015 21:48

You have to stop being a wimp and stand up for your ownership of the land on your deeds. If you don't, you eventually lose the title to it.

Remote control bollards would be best.

Oldraver · 14/02/2015 21:45

Get you DH to knock and ask her to move. Do this eveytime and hopefully she will get the message

peggyundercrackers · 14/02/2015 21:36

I would go round and tell her to move. She may be confused though because you said she could use your spaces... If she won't move just block her in and let her come to you.

AddToBasket · 14/02/2015 21:26

What does your DH say? I'd leave it for tonight but I'd take photos every time it happens, including now.

thenightsky · 14/02/2015 21:25

You have two spaces and she parks over both of them? Wow. Cheeky bitch. Angry

VivaLeBeaver · 14/02/2015 21:22

And if she refuses to move block her in.

VivaLeBeaver · 14/02/2015 21:22

Yes, send dh round and tell her to shift. If it becomes an inconvenience to her by you going round and disturbing her all the time she is more likely to stop.

PenguinTuxedo · 14/02/2015 21:21

I'd get dh round, how rude you can't park in your own space!

Fuckmath · 14/02/2015 21:21

Nanny you can get the details from the land registry

minibmw2010 · 14/02/2015 21:19

Yes. With the greatest of respect stop being such a wimp ?? she doesn't mind what she said to you or being neighbourly so stop her straight off.

Henbur1702 · 14/02/2015 21:18

*I'd not is!

Lorialet · 14/02/2015 21:18

Definitely if he can't use his own parking space. Can't believe the cheek of this woman.

Henbur1702 · 14/02/2015 21:17

Can you not park behind her and jam her in. If you inconvenience her for a day or two she'll probably think twice about doing it again. If she is going to be this difficult, ugly or not, is be getting myself some bollards!
