Aibu over lady using my parking spaces.

We live in a housing estate and each house or flat has one or two spaces allocated to them. Most of the spaces are directly outside our houses except a few that are round the side that have garages. The spaces aren't numbered but everyone seems to know who's is whose. There's a new neighbour that has moved in next door to me (a corner house) and has a garage parking space round the back of her house, however she uses both my spaces as she parks in the middle of them. It's quite annoying when there's nowhere else to park as you have to park further down the road.

I went over today and introduced myself and poilitley told her the spaces were mine and hers was round the back but she was welcome to use our other space when we don't have guests but could she park to one side so I can fit my car next to hers. She looked at me with a blank expression, said no and shut the door on me! What do I do now!? I just stood there for a moment open mouthed and then went home.

Now I'm not sure if she has mobility problems as she's not exactly nimble anymore (about 65) but I am shocked at her one word reply!

Thats kind of fantastic!

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 19/02/2015 19:15

I really really hope she learns her lesson from all this. It's a nightmare when people decide to use your space as theirs. It's almost as if they're brains are wired wrongly, instead of being grateful for anything they receive that isn't theirs, instead they feel aggrieved when they don't get what is yours Confused

Good luck!

frankie001 · 19/02/2015 19:14

Brilliant update! Does ndn know they are mundane famous?

laughingmyarseoff · 19/02/2015 19:14

That's wicked OP, if she doesn't learn her lesson then you'll all have to do it again and go away for a fortnight!

I think this must be the greatest thread that I have ever read. It's been a brilliant distraction while working on a novel - sadly it is historical fiction so I am unable to work a parking dispute into the narrative but maybe I'll get someone getting all up into other people's faces about stabling, or something.

Thanks OP! Grin

ATruthUniversallyAcknowledged · 19/02/2015 18:51

Thus may be the first time I've read a 37 page thread in one go. Update ASAP please op.

Jacana · 19/02/2015 18:51

KatieKaye I don't want to start a parking fight over NAR and his Balls of SteelWink so please can I have first dibs on FONAR? I think he's an Unsung HeroGrin

ThereMustAndShallBeTea · 19/02/2015 18:50

Pumpkins, you kind of hover over the bottom right of the last post (or wherever you want to bookmark), in the white space above/below Message Poster, and the elusive Bookmark box should appear.

PUGaLUGS · 19/02/2015 18:45

Bloody awesome thread Grin

PumpkinsMummy · 19/02/2015 18:40

I'm still trying to figure out how to place mark without posting. Someone said to hover the curser over the right hand side of the last posts' message poster stuff. It's not working. I am on the new mumsnet gubbins.Heeeeelp.

KatieKaye · 19/02/2015 18:36

NAR has balls of steel.
I am more than a little bit in love with him...

Postchildrenpregranny · 19/02/2015 18:34

Just love how a parking thread gets so many posts (I'm not minimising your problem OP. We parked in the 'wrong' space when MIL moved into a flat-she didn't have a car They weren't so much allocated but custom and practice . Once were were told which space was'hers' we always used it)

forago · 19/02/2015 18:31

shouldn't you protect your second space? he park in the middle like she does - show her how annoying it is as well.

OhTheThingsYouCanThink · 19/02/2015 18:30

Nannyplum2015 - when you need to start a new thread make sure you tell everyone EXACTLY what you've called it. Please and thank you.

This is too good!!!!

forago · 19/02/2015 18:29

sorry just seen update - NDN is an absolute genius!! he could leave for work but cleverly had FONAR block the driver side - genius! I am beyond pleased that she had to go a knocking like you and NAR did, to no avail.

Nannyplum2015 · 19/02/2015 18:27

Yes she's blocked in both sides! I'm in one of my spaces. I'm hoping she'll have learnt her lesson once she's released!

SwedishEdith · 19/02/2015 18:26

I think you all need to go round and knock on her door just to break the standoff for us

icelollycraving · 19/02/2015 18:26

This is thrilling!!

forago · 19/02/2015 18:25

so are all the cars still in the same place? she's still blocked in by NAR and FONAR?

who's on your 2 spaces? you better protect them both for when she gets released.

KitKat1985 · 19/02/2015 18:24

Oooh! The tension is almost palpable now. [Settles in for the evening].

Nannyplum2015 · 19/02/2015 18:24

I think I'll pop over once DH gets home and ask for an update!

OP posts:
SwedishEdith · 19/02/2015 18:24

Yes!

Nannyplum2015 · 19/02/2015 18:23

He's parked next to her passenger door again!
