I have two. I told a friend totally out of the blue that Michael Jackson would be dead six weeks from now, he was. I pointed at the screen and told a friend whilst watching Loose Women that Linda Bellingham would die soon of cancer.
I dunno why i felt compelled to say those things but i felt i needed to.

No criticising, hairsplitting or arguing pleae.

Be brave and tell. :)

I was at a barbecue, chatting to a friend of a friend. For some reason the talk turned to dogs, and the man I was speaking to said 'you know what breed of dog you don't see much if these days? Dachshunds.'

Literally 10 seconds later someone walked into the garden with two dachshunds!

When my beloved cat died suddenly and without warning many years ago I was hysterical with grief. I was very unhappy at the time, life had not been brilliant and he had been one of the few constants in my life for the past decade or so. I had a habit of dreaming about loved ones who had died (Mum, Granny) and had told myself that this was how I knew they were ok.
Sure enough, I dreamt about him, several times, I could see him, though others couldn't, and I held him until it was time for him to go.

When DD was born a tiny bit of me wanted to think that she was the reincarnated spirit of my cat. I don't really believe it, though they both share a love of throwing themselves to the floor, a big appetite and a general dislike of the hairbrush Grin

Last night I had a dream that I found a woman's handbag, and spent the rest of the dream trying to track her down. I put it down to the weird dreams I usually have in my PMT week, but was running for a taxi this morning when I saw what looked like an abandoned woman's bag. I then saw an abandoned pair of trainers, and a car that had been broken into, so I reported that and the bag to the Police. Need to phone them and see if they reunited the bag (which could have been from the car) with it's owner.

I'm probably going to out myself with this, but all my grandparents' grandchildren (5 of us) are born on either the 14th or 8th of the month. My birthday is the 14/08 and my DCs birthdays are also on 14th & 8th - one was born 2 weeks late and the other by ELC a day after his due date as they were fully booked on the 7th.

I always thought 14/8/2014 was going to be really special and I'd win the lottery or something, but nope, nothing. I had the most boring birthday ever.Hmm

Don't feel sad that someone still loved you. It is a nice thing.

My first love and I will always have feelings for each other but we are both married to other people now. Me very happily, him not and we just met too young for it to work out for us. Strangely I dreamt about him last night for the first time in ages and it really unsettled me.

Solidur · 23/11/2014 15:37

Flowers to everyone who has lost loved ones and friends, some of these stories are very sad, having looked back. x

Itsfab - hi! Smile It's not that I wanted to marry him, no. We'd been together for a couple of years, and I really did care for him, hence we stayed good friends, with DHs blessing. But....I was only 22, he was 16 years older than me, a divorcé and I'd never in a million years believed that this was a long term relationship.

Then I met DH which blew everything out of the water and when I met up with Ex a couple of weeks after meeting DH to end things and tell Ex why, he was so kind. Sad He gave me a huge hug and a kiss on the cheek and told me he understood and to go and be happy with DH, who was a good man who loved me. He even signed the register when I married DH, as my witness.

I feel very Sad that five years later, Ex still loved me - I'd caused him enormous pain and there was nothing I could do about it except apologise profusely. He was so kind and dignified and never, ever had anything but praise for DH for making me happy. Sad

Itsfab · 23/11/2014 14:45

Solidur - are you Sad because you wanted to marry your DH's predecessor and never knew he loved you that much?

JudgyHotPants - yours has made me realise I might have had a woo moment and not known it. I met up with PIL and GIL to do some shopping as MIL was giving me some money to get bits for the kids. I hadn't seen GIL for a while but I knew she hadn't eaten properly for a while. I could tell she had lost weight and she was already very slim. I felt very sad when I had said bye and they all walked away. I never saw her again Sad. She was diagnosed with cancer and died 3 days later SadSad.

Humansatnav · 23/11/2014 14:36

My much loved Nan died unexpectedly on a visit to Ireland to visit us.
When her family went to her house to sort her personal effects she had left a letter on the kitchen table with the details of where her will was held and her funeral wishes. She was 66 and died of an aneurism.
We moved back to UK a couple of months later and I had a dream that my Nan came to visit and there was a party. Nan spoke to me and told me that she loved me and my family, but wouldn't be able to visit me like this again because she had to go on. She told me to run and tell my mum about speaking to her as soon as I woke up.
I did. 12 years later ( when I was 18) mum told me that she had asked her mum to visit us and dreamed we had a party for her- the same night I had my dream.

CarbeDiem · 23/11/2014 14:27

I've got lots.
I vividly remember being 3-4 years old, I know this as I was attending Nursery.
My bed was under the window in my little bedroom in the upstairs flat that I grew up in. I used to move the curtains to look at the stars until I fell asleep. One night I moved the curtain and there was a 'thing' standing there - I can only describe it as similar to King Kong. Shocked, I quickly closed the curtain and screamed for Dm. She didn't come. Then there was a knock on my window, I pulled back the curtain again after a few minutes the 'thing' spoke to me but I couldn't understand him. We just looked at each other through the glass. I got scared again and screamed once more - nothing! despite my bedroom door being open and the closed living room door being just a few footsteps away.
I made a dash out of bed to run and tell Dm but I physically couldn't walk through the open door, like there was an invisible clear glass barrier stopping me - this started me really screaming. Seconds later the living room door opened and Dm - with her back to me went to reach and switch on the bathroom light, she absolutely couldn't hear me and I, all of a sudden, kind of fell/flew out of my doorframe in a heap on the landing floor behind her.
She almost shit herself and couldn't understand what had happened to snotty, shaking and hysterical me.

I swear to God I could fly - well some kind of levitation. It only happened when I slept at my GP's on weekends. Gdad would get up for work, I'd hear him go to the loo then head downstairs. A minute or so later I'd get up, walk out of the bedroom and 'fly' downstairs until I reached the bottom, then I'd walk again. EVERY time it happened I'd tell myself to see if it happened the next week, it always did. I don't remember exactly when it stopped, maybe 8-9 yrs old.

In Gp's house, from when I was young, I'd caught glimpses of a lady in a beige/cream dress - it took me a while to describe her as I had to see her a few times to put it all together. I could only really see her top half, her legs kind of stopped where her knees were and were fuzzy and I'd always said the lady had a pretty big necklace.
It wasn't until I went into detail describing the dress she was wearing that my Dgran looked quite shocked and changed the subject.
When I was around 10 - I helped Dgran to sort through some old things from the loft..... Out came her Grandmother's wedding dress - exactly how I'd tried to describe it but the 'pretty big necklace' was actually pearls elaborately sown in to the chest/bodice part. She died from complications following an accident, one of them being she had a leg amputated just above the knee.
My Dgran was so freaked out when I began talking about what I could see and had hushed me when it first started but she couldn't after I'd seen the dress.

As an adult -
I knew exactly when ds2 would be born and what time.
I was correct and he was born EXACTLY the same date and time, one year after I'd lost my beloved Grandma.
Everyone - Midwives, ExDh, my Dm, family, friends were skeptical to say the least.
My Granda was the first person I called that morning - he had believed me, the only one. I've lost him now too and even today, remembering that phone call, still brings a lump to my throat.

I've seen many many Mediums over the years but one that truly shocked me was a Lady I was seeing for the first time. She knew nothing about me except my name, she didn't even get the chance to ask me anything more.
As I entered the room, she said hello, sit down and immediately she said to me
''No! no! no! I want you to listen to me please sweetheart, You are not on this earth for other's to hurt, please understand what I'm telling you, IT wasn't your fault and IT'S still not your fault''
She can't have known she'd addressed my thoughts exactly. So many times I had said those things to myself. I've got a recording of it and it makes me shudder even now.

I've got more but I'm out of time so will add later.

Frikadellen · 23/11/2014 14:21

Mine are nothing amazing considering some of the stories here however.

I knew from the moment I was pregnant with dd1 that this one would stay (I had just had a mc) and that it would be a girl. To the extend I would not even consider boys names with dh. (Much to his frustration " but what if it IS a boy?") Never had that feeling with any of our other 3.
At 7 months pg with dd1 I dreamt we had another baby and what her name was. I was visiting my mother in DK in and the baby girl was wearing a specific dress. I suggested the name to dh who was adamant he didn't like it.

ffw 2 years dd2 was born and we named her what I had dreamt we would. She also looks exactly like in my dream and mil arrived with 2 dresses she had bought in M&S one pink one blue (for dd1 and 2) it is the ONLY time MIL has ever bought my children clothing. IT was the dress I had dreamt of dd2 wearing.

Many years before I met dh I was dating a NZ guy. We went on holiday in Devon. I had never been before, and hired a car. We drove around a fair bit and suddenly I said. " I have the strangest feeling of Deja vu " looked around (we were on a winding road with trees you could not see far) and said " there is a church on the right and then we go down a hill and there is this house with a odd window and then this big house on the other side" Sure enough as we drove down it was just like that & not laid out in what would be a usual manner for church manor houses in villages. Then BF looked at me spooked and I felt very odd too. So we simply drove off didnt say a word.

I even now wish we had stopped and looked around & I cant remember where in Devon we were or what small villages we were driving around. I am convinced I must have lived at that village in a past life. I grew up in DK but have always felt I had a part that was English.

SuperFlyHigh · 23/11/2014 12:51

Marking place! Have a few woo stories.

DisgraceToTheYChromosome · 23/11/2014 12:40

When DM died I was awoken by a hand on my neck and a voice saying something I couldn't quite catch in a comforting tone.
One minute later the phone rang.

Which gives me hope we'll be able to get a few things sorted at some point.

DoAndroidsDream · 23/11/2014 12:37

I didn't know Keith Floyd had died Shock

Thumbwitch · 23/11/2014 12:26

Lulu - on the OP, click on Report post and then when you're asked why you're reporting type that you think it should be in Classics :)

LuluJakey1 · 23/11/2014 12:25

I too would like to see this in classcs but don't know how to ask MNHQ.

StoneFoxMama · 23/11/2014 12:13

I have a silly one and a couple of woo one's.

Was in a shop with dh and passed a promotional display of those coke bottles with a name on them, I was drawn to them as I have an unusual name and its never on stuff like that. In front of me, at eye level was dh' s name, his sister's, mother's and father's name all in a row. None of them live near us to have idly arranged them like it! (Disclaimer they do have pretty standard names like Matthew,David,Sarah and Rebecca)

I also met ds2 in a dream, I saw a small very dark haired toddler running through a grungy live music venue. When I had ds1 I was very surprised at his fairness, ds2 came along and I recognised him! I also started djing and putting on live gigs at a well known grungy music venue in my area when ds2 was around 3. Never brought the kids to work though!

Lastly dm was hoovering one day and halfway through got a strong urge to phone her mother, dg, straight away. She phoned to have the call answered by dm' s hysterical sister who was at the house with paramedics as dg had collapsed and died moments before.

Love this thread, so many interesting stories Flowers to all those with sad ones.

JudgeyHotPants · 23/11/2014 10:49

My Nana had always been a very independent woman who lived in her own home until she was in her 90's. Sadly as she became more doddery she became a bit of a danger to herself and had a few falls. Eventually we managed to persuade her to go into a home for a few weeks to see if she liked it, and obviously if she did she'd stay there (for her own safety more than anything).

About a week after she'd gone into the home I was off work and had this overwhelming urge to go and visit her there, so I did. She was fine, sitting in the communal living area with a cup of tea and we had a bit of a chat. I'd just come back from holiday so I told her about that. I stayed an hour, kissed her goodbye and left. As I got into my car I just knew that I'd never see her again, I pushed it to the back of my mind but she died ten days later.

Obviously when someone is as elderly as she was it's not entirely surprising when they die, but if you'd have seen her in that home she was as right as rain. Her mind was as sharp as anything, you'd never guess she'd die within days but she did.

Bumbiscuits · 23/11/2014 10:18

I absolutely always get the sex of a baby right when I meet someone who is expecting. I know I have a 50% chance anyway, but I've never been wrong. Not once. Saying that I've never met anyone who is pregnant twins or more, would like to in order to see if I'm able to predict the sex of multiple babies.

The only person I couldn't guess was me!

SilentAllTheseYears · 23/11/2014 10:11

I had a imaginary brother when I was little and chose a name for him, lets call him James. I later found out that I had an older brother who died at birth and he was called James.
I never mentioned it to my DCs as it'd freak them out. One day DS told me that he dreamt that I had a brother. His name was James but we'd never met him because he was in heaven.

So sorry Lurking Flowers

Congratulations on your pregnancy though Smile xxx

Thumbwitch · 23/11/2014 09:44

Still in chat? Does no one else think it merits Classics? Please suggest it to MNHQ if you do :)

AlwaysLurking38 · 23/11/2014 07:52

I told my mum about these dreams,

I had a dream where I was pregnant and I gave birth to a premature baby who died minutes later. The baby was tiny. A few days later I found out I was pregnant. Throughout my pregnancy I kept having terrible dreams where I had my baby premature and the baby died. The doctors kept trying to take my baby away from me but I wouldn't let them. I kept having the dream over and over, it was awful.

I had my son at 24 weeks and he died two hours after he was born. He was my first baby, mg first pregnancy and I'd tried for him for two years. I really wanted him.

And another,

In April my step dad was in a coma from a car accident. My mum was devastated and thought he was going to die. I told her it was all going to be ok, because I could see him in the garden with a little girl running towards him. A week or so after he woke up I found out I was pregnant. And turns out I'm expecting a girl :) he's not made a full recovery but everyday he's getting better, tis all very odd

FibonacciSeries · 23/11/2014 07:39

I woke up one day and remember I'd dreamt that my best friend, who lived abroad and was due to give birth in two weeks' time, was having her baby. I called her mobile and her mom answered because my friend was, indeed, at hospital giving birth. When I told her mother she called me a witch! Shock

honeypie10 · 23/11/2014 06:59

I fell through the ceiling in out house... twice... in exactly the same place! Having work done on our house we'd just had it all plastered and dp was putting down the floorboards after rewiring, except i fell backwards and fell through with my feet dangling in the hall below.

Got it all fixed and plastered all over again and now a few months on and 6 months pregnant we were moving something in the same room, I said haha this is where i fell last time, god can you imagine if that happened again now i'm pregnant - queue me falling through yet again! Its a joke in our family now and luckily I was fine but for the embarrassment of calling the plasterer back to do the same ceiling and having to explain why!

The 2nd is a bit woo, it was a Friday morning and my cat who only ever moves between the radiator and his food bowl decided to sit at the top of the stairs on the landing and stare down them. I found him hours later in the same position and started to get a bit freaked out as he's 15 and has never done anything like this in his life. That evening even dp came in from work and asked me what as up with him, we tried food to get him to come down but he didn't even eat that night.

Dp was going out and staying over at his friends so it was just me and ds who is 2. On my way to bed there's the cat still sat there staring down the bottom of the stairs, getting freaked out now I just ignored him and ran to my room and shut the door.

Through the night there was a huge storm, even the tree in our garden lost branches and ds was crying on and off so I had hardly any sleep but I woke up to hearing a voice saying get up now. I looked at my phone and it was 10 past 6, way too early so i got up to go the toilet and went back to bed, I looked on the stairs and the cat had finally moved and I could hear him walking around downstairs. Ds woke up and i put him in my bed with me for a bit then about half 7 we went downstairs.

As i'm half way down the stairs I see the front door wide open so start panicking, we have vestibule doors but these are closed tight so i immediately start looking round to see if anything had been taken. Nothing had, my laptop had been right by the door in the living room and was still there.

Still freaks me out that I dont know how the door opened, its one of those you have to lift the handle up to lock it and i always do it before i go to bed which i did that night. the only way it could have opened was with a keep either side. But the cat has never sat on the stairs in the same way again.

TeaFor6 · 23/11/2014 00:32

Miscellaneous I'm now dying to know what your story is...
