I have two. I told a friend totally out of the blue that Michael Jackson would be dead six weeks from now, he was. I pointed at the screen and told a friend whilst watching Loose Women that Linda Bellingham would die soon of cancer.
I dunno why i felt compelled to say those things but i felt i needed to.

No criticising, hairsplitting or arguing pleae.

Be brave and tell. :)

I met my DH when we were at school. He was in the year above and I knew who he was but didn't 'know' him, iyswim. We got together after I went on a date with his best mate which he got dragged along to. There were a whole series of events which preceded this date and the subsequent club night where I got together with DH which could easily have meant we wouldn't have ended up together including 2 deaths, several missed phone calls and visiting relatives from Oz.

Shortly after getting together we found out that our uncles (his mom's brother and my dad's bil) had been best friends since childhood (growing up in a different town to where we lived). His uncle had known my dad since he was 15 and I had met his uncle a few months previously at my uncles funeral. We'd had quite a long conversation but at no point had it come up who his nephew was or what school he was at.

DH's mom and uncle had lived in a street when they were children that is the same street that my aunt (dad's sister and my uncle's ex wife) lives in now - in the house exactly opposite.

Also DH's uncles's DIL is best friends with my cousin's SIL.

All of these connections are completely independent of each other yet involve the same people a family members. It's no wonder DH and I believe we're somehow meant to be together.

In 1989, my DF was an accountant. One day he and my DM invited one of his clients for dinner and told him to bring his partner.
His partner was Michael Barrymore! So, aged 9, I had a dinner with Michael Barrymore and his boyfriend. This was six years before he openly came out publicly.
I went to school the next day and told my teacher that Michael Barrymore had come to my house for dinner, with his boyfriend, and he was gay and my mum had cooked roast chicken in cream of mushroom soup.
I was told not to tell lies and kept in at play time as a punishment Shock

No one believes this, but I had a can of shaving cream that lasted ~10 years. I had no idea it was odd, as it was my first can, until it ran out and I bought another and another and another -- all at several month intervals. I do remember thinking they should have rust-proofed the cans better, but I suppose that they weren't meant to last a decade. People always think of ways it could have been replaced, which maybe was true for when I lived at home, but not for last 7-8 years for sure, with exact same rust pattern? I used to stare at it in the bath, so knew it quite well.

I think I've told this before - but I had a horribly unsettling experience when I attended my son's school assembly - he was 5. As I filed in with all the other parents the children were already sat in the hall and this horrid thought suddenly came completely unbidden into my head, which was "if someone came in here now with a gun they'd all be sitting ducks and it'd be so easy to kill them" .... it actually made me feel sick and disgusted with myself, and I felt ashamed to have thought such a thing. But I couldn't get it out of my head while I sat there.

The news about Dunblane started to break not that long after I got home and I don't know, I felt very disturbed for a long time because my 'deja vu', or whatever it was, seemed far too much of a coincidence, especially given my son was the same year as those poor children. I don't know what happened, and nothing would have been served by me trying to 'alert' anyone because there was nothing I could usefully report. I think, looking at the timescale that my thought was at about the same time the tragedy was taking place. I still get very teary thinking about it - not "just" the tragedy, obviously, because that goes without saying - but that somehow, I genuinely believe I had some sort of 'warning', albeit a useless one.

Oh hotel guests - mostly just comments he was totally shocked at. A lot of casual use of prostitutes, it was a cheap chain hotel in a not very touristy town, often used for conferences, so a lot of lonely businessmen. His colleague on the desk was so used to it he used to call and hire them for any guest who phoned down to room service and asked. Once somebody complained that the prostitute was too ugly :/

An incident of domestic violence where the police were called and he was shocked that the woman didn't want to press charges :( Not that surprising though sadly.

One man who bought DH a bottle of the hotel's most expensive wine and then said "I don't usually drink, but you know, sometimes you just have to. Like sleeping with prostitutes."

One night where his colleague decided to feel up a guest in a bathroom, and then got chased around the entire hotel by the angry guest who was trying to punch him. That was a bit of a drama. Colleague got fired for sexual harassment.

In the next hotel he worked in, it was much more upmarket and he had a very famous guest who was the lead character in a popular BBC programme. I won't say who it was because he had to sign a non disclosure agreement but let's just say this person was on my "list" if you know what I mean and I was totally and extremely jealous of him Grin He sat down in the bar with him the entire night and acted like he hadn't noticed who the star was or that he was famous (he'd booked in under a false name too). Said he came across as quite arrogant/egotistical in person despite not flaunting his fame - he didn't tell DH who he was and DH reckons he didn't realise that he knew.

Four125 · 17/11/2014 21:48

This isn't a paranormal one but as a Uni student many years ago I worked one summer in a well known hotel.
One morning I went into one of the guest rooms to find a famous woman, a household name, in bed with another woman. That in itself was a surprise but this woman is one that the public would assume is heterosexual.
I've never really told anyone because I don't think they'd believe me.

Once I had a dream that I met Michael Stipe from REM. He sang one of their songs (Driver 8) and then shook my hand and said goodbye.

Next day REM announced they were breaking up.

I was a huge fan of theirs when I was younger, but hadn't thought much about them for a few years, so no idea why I would suddenly dream that, it was such a vivid dream too.

When a student, my boyfriend's house-share had taken in a kitten from a feral litter some years previously. The cat was well-cared for, but had a reputation for being odd, and for "messing with people's minds" by doing weird things that no-one would believe.

Once at a small party, I found myself alone with this cat in the living room during an odd moment when someone was in the loo, someone else was in the kitchen, someone smoking outside, couple gone off for a snog, etc. Everyone had popped out so briefly that I hadn't really registered that I was on my own IYSWIM.

Cat was sitting in the middle of the floor with all her legs tucked under. She fixed me with her eyes. Then in a flash, she jumped about 3 feet into the air, did a little roly-poly with her front paws, and landed back exactly as she was with all legs tucked under in the same spot... just as 2 people came back in through different doors.

HangingBasketCase · 17/11/2014 21:41

When I was about ten I was looking out through my bedroom window one day when I saw a blue and white budgie sitting in one of the trees in our garden. It flew off before I could tell anyone and no one believed me, my mum said it must have been a Blue Tit but it was exactly the same as my friends pet budgie. I'm 100% certain of what I saw.

Also when I was about 17 I worked in a branch of well known clothing change. A very strange woman used to come in frequently and would without fail pinch the staffs arses. She pinched mine one day and it really hurt! We always treated it as a joke, but I look back now and think how bloody creepy it was. She was obviously mentally ill, but it was sexual assault!

I remember the flixborough disaster very clearly. Blew our front door off.

My mum worked with someone whose husband worked there. Early in the afternoon before the explosion the colleagues 4 year old daughter turned to her and said "daddy's work has blown up"

BertieBotts · 17/11/2014 21:38

Oh my god! I've just remembered something weird that happened to my mum when I was about sixteen. A bloke came to the door to sell something or other, but instead of giving his sales spiel he instead totally changed his tack and started saying he had a message for her Confused

I can't remember exactly what happened but I do know he ended up phoning her later on and told her to do some odd "magic" shit like burying a £20 note in the garden and she was supposed to take off her knickers and bury them too Hmm (She did say to him "I hope this isn't one of those dirty phone calls!" at that point.) She had to chant some nonsense as well. Anyway after doing this everything was supposed to turn out wonderfully, he also told her that her eldest daughter (me) would disappoint her. I don't think I did disappoint her particularly, but I did get pregnant at 19 years old which is immediately what she had jumped to, because I had my first boyfriend at around this time.

I was totally sceptical about the whole thing and reckoned he was just trying to charm her into bed, but he never ever called again after the weird phone call about the magic spell.

Luciferbox · 17/11/2014 21:32

My DH worked in the same place for yrs. On the way into work I had a bad feeling, told everyone something bad will happen. My DH was made redundant that afternoon. Hmm

carlywurly · 17/11/2014 21:31

I used to be able to turn street lights off just by walking past them. I told my then boss, who (understandably) took the royal piss and said prove it. So I did. 3 in a row, one after the next. He was proper freaked out.
It still happens now but only occasionally Confused

I was in a big lift with my mum and my baby, who was fast asleep and not making a sound. I think she was about 4/5 months at the time.

A lady got on with her daughter in a pushchair, she looked about 3 or 4 and had sunglasses strapped on. Her mum helped her press the lift buttons then the little girl leant forward towards my pram and said 'there's a little baby in here'. My mum and I just did the usual 'yes there is but she's having a little sleep......'. Noticed the mum was crying and she told us that her daughter is completely blind and she has no idea how she would know that.

Not really woo I suppose but what an amazing girl!

loveulotslikejellytots · 17/11/2014 21:30

When my best friend had her little boy, I bought several very cute baby grows. I bought them in 3-6 months knowing that she'd get lots in newborn sizes. While choosing them this wave of sadness came over me and knew that he'd never get to wear them. It made me cry. Her beautiful little boy passed away at 4 weeks old.

I met a witch doctor in Mexico once who made me levitate a pencil and then tried to shag me. To this day I know it wasn't hypnotism. (I didn't let him shag me.)
