I have two. I told a friend totally out of the blue that Michael Jackson would be dead six weeks from now, he was. I pointed at the screen and told a friend whilst watching Loose Women that Linda Bellingham would die soon of cancer.
I dunno why i felt compelled to say those things but i felt i needed to.

No criticising, hairsplitting or arguing pleae.

Be brave and tell. :)

Stoke yours made me giggle. Grin

I also (whilst driving) saw a creature that I'd never seen before. I was driving in broad daylight down a road with speed humps so fairly slowly and it ran in front of my car.
I can only describe it as being a reptile with fur, almost like a cross between a squirrel and a lizard - maybe it wasGrin

WeevilKnievel · 22/11/2014 00:11

Exactly Barbara. It's very strange to have that reaction to a person for no reason at all.
I was almost tempted to follow this guy home to see what was going on there ( convinced I'd unearth some huge crime!)

I 'met' DN in a kind of daydream before he was even conceived.

I was talking with my sister about something completely mundane when I had this image appear in my head, except it felt like more than an image, it was like I was experiencing something as you would in a dream, kind of like a flashback, except it was a flash forward, hard to describe.

I could see DN in his babygrow sitting on my knee, I kissed the top of his head and he looked up and smiled at me and I felt a rush of love and I knew who he was.

BarbaraManatee · 21/11/2014 23:55

Weevil, I've had one of those 'looks' from a stranger too. Mine was at a relative-in-law's funeral when a man stood up to talk &, being from a rather exclusive religion that I'm not a part of, he started preaching on their togetherness. At one point he met my eyes & I felt like I was going to vomit or pass out. I've never had a reaction to someone just looking at me like that before. Gives me the shivers even now! The only way I can describe it is 'evil'. I'm seriously debating whether or not to go to any future funerals where I might run the risk of feeling like that again. I love DH & his family but I'm not sure I can put myself through that again!

WeevilKnievel · 21/11/2014 23:40

In the village that I used to live I'd have to drive down a single track country road that was mainly woods. On occasions I would pass a couple of young people who were dressed in a slightly Amish fashion and occasionally accompanying them would be a small older man who utterly terrified me.
I really don't know what it was about him but as I was usually driving and it was a narrow road, he/they would move in and I would slowly drive past.
As I did so he would meet my eye and holding my gaze I just wanted to scream at the top of my voice. ( Im not generally prone to such extreme reactions I promise!)
I'm in no doubt that he had done something terrible.
I came to dread driving past him or worst still, him walking past my house and seeing where I lived.
Luckily I've moved now although I'm convinced I'll see his face in the news one day.

Lurleene · 21/11/2014 23:21

Germgirl - I just relayed your 'cat with a human face' story to my DH. He said that he is currently reading a book about alien abduction and that sightings of creatures like this are a common theme in abduction reports...Shock.

My woo/unbelieveable stories are all baby related ones :)
I can always tell if someone is pregnant, or will be soon or even if someone they are close to is.
I always knew I would have a boy first, he would be two weeks overdue, I knew exactly what he would look like and what his personality would be like. I knew he would be an easy baby.
I remember insisting to my mum when we were out baby stuff shopping I needed a comb for a newborn, I also returned all my tiny, white baby clothes and bought boys clothes (No scans then to tell you the sex) in big sizes.
I was right as my pfb was a 10lb 1oz boy, with hair, he is the happiest soul :)
I also knew in another pregnancy I would miscarry as I had dreams about children crying and not being able too hold them.
I also knew my other son would be born prematurely, I had all my bags packed everything organised from 16 weeks, he was only 7 weeks early however :)Blush

LoafersOrLouboutins · 21/11/2014 18:56

elfycat- My friend is completely woo (the only person I've ever told the story of my ex to) but also looks 'normal'. Although she does wear crystals most days. I'm rather woo too Grin

elfycat · 21/11/2014 18:39

*was editing to say I don't launch into my woo as soon as I meet people, in the middle of that second paragraph but then DD2 dropped a glass and distracted me.

elfycat · 21/11/2014 18:36

Jeremy

My sister used to have the same thing with some pictures, the characters would leave and come back we're a family of woo-ers. It seems it comes from our Father's side She also used to feel people's hands resting on her at night which would upset her. Of course she was told it was her imagination but now she wonders if it was guardians/helpers. And you can ask them to back off a bit if they are upsetting you which would be my advice if my children felt that way but my sister just had to cope with being afraid of 'nothing'.

I must admit that I shouldn't be on this thread at all. Everyone who knows me I can tell my tales of oddness to, though I often don't lau. Some (PIL) will purse their lips and ignore but I'm woo on the outside. I surprise people because I look normal and not-woo. I wonder if I should dress woo and what that would look like...

GelfBride · 21/11/2014 18:35

My DDad developed Alzheimers Disease. When he was in the early to mid stage I had him move in with me as I was so worried about him. I was working full time so used to get up and leave him a flask of tea, a flask of soup and a plate of sandwiches and hope he would still be there when I got home! It was unbelievably stressful and tiring as he used to get up many times in the night as he thought it was morning.
One morning I was exhausted but about to pull out of my drive onto a busy main road to go to work. I looked left but pulled out without looking right. At the last second, I heard my DDads voice shout my name and I braked just as a truck went by.
I would have been crushed, no question but I got out of the car to look for my DDad as he was meant to be sat in the lounge by the telly, tea, soup and sandwiches. He was no-where to be seen so I looked in the lounge window and he was sat where I had left him, watching the box.

sunflower49 · 21/11/2014 17:29

Callani I thought that about Jeremy 's story, too! I think I found that the creepiest story on here.

Callani · 21/11/2014 16:25

Jeremy It sounds like the painting from Roald Dahl's The Witches - when they used to magic the children in to pictures and they'd move and grow old. Creepy!

toomanybooksnotenoughspace · 21/11/2014 16:15

I've only told a couple of people this story because I think it's a bit woo and weird. But I SWEAR it is true.

In the weeks before she died, the BBC aired adverts for a new series of 'Holiday' (I think that's what it was called) that Jill Dando was presenting quite regularly. I mentioned to my mum 'oh did you know she's getting married?'. Another day, the ad came on again and I mentioned her engagement again, and my mum pointed out that I had mentioned it before. So it became abit of an 'in joke' between the two of us that every time this ad came on or she was on the telly/in magazines I would point out that she was getting married. ANYWAY, one day she came up on the telly, so I said 'did you know she's got engaged?' and as soon as I said that a voice inside my head said 'no she isn't, she won't get married and she will never had kids' and I had a vision of a front door with flowers surrounding the edges. A few days later, Jill Dando was murdered on her front door. Really freaked me out.

My mum also has a story of her friend. Her friend was heavily pregnant (this was in the early '70s). My mum had a dream that her friend had come round to her house, with a double pram/stroller, however when my mum peered into the pram, both seats were empty. A couple of months later, her friend had given birth to 2 stillborn twins (she knew she was pregnant but didn't know she had been expecting twins).

ptumbi · 21/11/2014 16:07

furrywall - actually I do beleive that! In fact I think the fact that I've been to SA twice and not been mugged is more unbeleivable! Grin

Strokethefurrywall · 21/11/2014 15:09

I was held at gunpoint in Cape Town at an ATM machine whilst being mugged.

It would have been terrifying had I not had several strawberry dacquaris and a pleasant buzz on. In fact, I don't think my brain registered that I was being held at gunpoint other than thinking "oh. He's got a gun. That's shit."

Greyhound · 21/11/2014 14:21

A strange coincidence but not really unbelievable - some years ago I went to sponsored trek in the Far East to raise money for a charity that is personable to me because it supports research into the illness my late sister died of.

I made friends with another lady on the trek and was amazed when she mentioned her sister's birthday (her sister was ill with the same disease as mine but has since recovered) and it was that same as my sister's birthday - same date, different year.

OooLalala · 21/11/2014 14:00

I once dreamt the lottery numbers.
When I woke up I wrote down the ones I could remember (four numbers), guessed the others and bought a ticket.
The four numbers that I remembered all came up.
I live in hope that I dream the numbers again, but this time remember them all!

Degustibusnonestdisputandem · 21/11/2014 13:23

MackerelOfFact I do the same thing! It used to happen a lot more when I was a teenager - it unnerved people Smile

MackerelOfFact · 21/11/2014 13:09

Sometimes I have days where I find that I read random words at the exact time that I hear someone saying the same word. Which doesn't sound THAT weird, but it'll be uncommon words.

So I'll be reading the paper and listening to a song, for example, and at the exact moment I read the word "carousel" or "escape" or "chaos" or something, the word comes up in the song (or movie, or radio, or the conversation of someone nearby).

It always freaks me out slightly because it might be the only time I read/hear that word all day/week/month.

murmuration · 21/11/2014 12:32

jeremy, ooh, that picture is creepy.

Wealldancelamacarena · 21/11/2014 07:10

Bridge over trouble water

One Dh and I were going somewhere in the car. On the radio was that song : Bridge over trouble water by simon and garfunkel. I remember saying : very cheery song, it feels like we are at a funeral ! And sure enough, 30 seconds later, a funeral convoy crossed our path ! It was really bizarre !

Scottishcrumpets · 21/11/2014 00:58

I was pregnant with ds1, and living in Australia at the time. We had gone to bed fairly late (for oz time, where everyone is in bed for 10 and up before 6) and dh was asleep. I was reading, and had the light on and the alarm clock beside me. I was wide awake and can remember glancing at the clock a few times. Once it was around 11ish, then all of a sudden it was 45 minutes later. I was completely bemused. turned off the lights soon after and went to sleep, got up in the morning and there was a dried in spot of blood on the sheet, around where the base of my neck would be. I examined myself and got then dp to do the same again, but I had no cuts or nicks on me at all Shock

Sabrinnnnnnnna · 20/11/2014 23:38

Ds2's nappy cream was even confiscated!
