AIBU to think that comprehension just isn't a strong point with some people.

I've noticed this quite a lot over the time I have on MN.

Referring to a recent thread re early retirement. The poster quite clearly stated that DH wanted to retire in 14 months (when mortgage paid) and wanted her to retire at the same time. She is 10 years his junior and works part time.

OK, first answer was "So he wants you both to retire in early forties"

Second response "Can you change to part time work"

I can understand this if we were 10 pages into the thread because we don't all have time to read all responses, but come on, the first two responses?

Yet you still have time to post on a chat forum? God help me.

TheBigBumTheory · 30/09/2014 22:53

Yes, in Russian, it's a rare uncorrected manuscript she found in a charity shop.

Gruntfuttock · 30/09/2014 22:51

Is she reading it in the original Russian?

TheBigBumTheory · 30/09/2014 22:47

Speaking of comprehension, dd is now a free reader which means she can bring her own copy of War and Peace into school without being told off. What could she read next?

Primadonnagirl · 30/09/2014 21:48

OP when your DH retires he will be able to claim JSA and I know that's true cos my friend says so.
Just text him your answer or put it on his Facebook page.Better text his secret phone though and when he replies ask us all what he really means.
Why are you married to a man so much younger than you anyway? Is he one of them awful Turkish waiters?

IrenetheQuaint · 30/09/2014 21:44

Interesting first post, OP Hmm

Gruntfuttock · 30/09/2014 21:43

I wish there was a 'like' button for this thread. Why isn't there a like button? Hmm

noblegiraffe · 30/09/2014 21:15

Just sew some sheets together, weave some leaves out of the garden and then handbeat some leather into sandals and you've got a dead easy Roman costume. Much better than just buying one from Asda.

punygod · 30/09/2014 21:03

Apologies for the Daily Fail link, but have you seen the legs/Botox/arse/ on this woman?

punygod · 30/09/2014 21:01

I just have one small glass of wine every other Christmas.

I think if you ever find it hard to resist a glass of wine with your dinner you should take a look at whether your drinking is a problem, tbh.

Delphiniumsblue · 30/09/2014 20:54

Paragraphing it would have made it much easier to read.

LetThereBeCupcakes · 30/09/2014 20:54

Didn't want to read and run OP Flowers.

Hopefully somebody more helpful will be along in a minute.

DuelingFanjo · 30/09/2014 20:51

I know what it's like OP, you have my sympathies I wanted to murder my DH but we started using this and it really worked.

oin · 30/09/2014 20:51

Spend the money on a naice bench instead of a handbag, you shallow cow.

TheBabyFacedAssassin · 30/09/2014 20:35

This too shall pass.

punygod · 30/09/2014 20:33

Go to Aldi! I've slashed my grocery bill from £275 a week to £14.99 and their olives, antipasti, fresh pasta and own-brand almond chocs are to die for. Also, last week DP got a side of salmon for 63p and we've now got 400 fillets in the freezer. Bargain!

weebleswillwobble · 30/09/2014 20:30

Just get a lactation consultant. And make sure they check for tongue tie.

punygod · 30/09/2014 20:26

OP, print off this thread and show it to him.

Dogs are bastards.
Ban the lot of them and make the owners scrub the pavement with a toothbrush.
