Any positives about a YES vote, for the English? (light hearted)

The Weather on TV will be a LOT shorter.

We will only have to wait 5 minutes for the weather girl to get round to us, instead of the usual 15 minutes, while they go all round the houses Scotland etc. Grin

Yes Frankel I thought of that but then I thought perhaps it wasn't the best thing to have the new national anthem chosen by a Scot.

As I recall Billy Connelly wanted to teach it to people on the plane over Grin

bialystockandbloom · 18/09/2014 17:59

Archers theme tune Grin Grin

TSSDNCOP · 18/09/2014 17:59

I like your work Frankel and we'll need to go a teensy bit west to avoid a collision with bloody Calais.

SpringHeeledJack · 18/09/2014 17:59

I think we should go east and hang out with the Netherlands

They're like us, only much nicer

Also: Scotland will have a shit fit when it sees us on facebook, having an a maaaze ing time without it

beccajoh · 18/09/2014 17:58

I don't know the words to ALS anyway. "For old acquaintance be forgot, la la la la la LAAAAAAAAAA..... For auld lang syne my friend..." Is about as much as I know.

Ididntseeitsoitdidnthappen · 18/09/2014 17:58

Or land of hope and glory just with new words (which is suprisingly hard to write without lots of thought)

bialystockandbloom · 18/09/2014 17:58

Setting off our newly acquired Trident missiles at the border should help propel us too, Franke.

Legionofboom · 18/09/2014 17:58

Can you imagine the hallelujah chorus at Wembley? Brilliant

Hulababy · 18/09/2014 17:58

Does that mean I might technically be Scottish, so maybe I'm officially an expat by tomorrow morning, living abroad? ;)

FrankelandFilly · 18/09/2014 17:57

Didn't Billy Connolly (ironic I know) propose we use The Archers theme tune as a National Anthem, it's nice and upbeat and I'd like to see the Olympic Athletes marching in time to it Grin

Ididntseeitsoitdidnthappen · 18/09/2014 17:57

Could we have the hallelujah chorus?

bialystockandbloom · 18/09/2014 17:56

Can't we have Plymouth Ho! and bob up and down like the Prommers do at the Last Night of the Proms?

FrankelandFilly · 18/09/2014 17:55

If we attach a few warships along the South coast and set the engines to full ahead, whilst simultaneously setting off the dynamite along Hadrian's Wall, we could possibly tow ourselves a few extra degrees in a South-Westerly direction and improve the climate a tad.

SignoraStronza · 18/09/2014 17:55

English export figures will go through the roof as Devon single handedly saves the economy by flogging Buckfast.

TSSDNCOP · 18/09/2014 17:54

Exactly. HM is known to love a bit of Gloria G.

Ididntseeitsoitdidnthappen · 18/09/2014 17:54

Happy new year!
No more auld lang syne!

Ad infinitim

Legionofboom · 18/09/2014 17:53

I think the Queen would be in favour of a new national anthem. She must be soooo sick of the old one.

TSSDNCOP · 18/09/2014 17:53

Becca we can sing the new anthem. It's versatility is its beauty.

beccajoh · 18/09/2014 17:52

What will we sing at New Year if we can't have Auld Lang Syne anymore?

TSSDNCOP · 18/09/2014 17:51

We are not having bloody Calais. It is a shithole of the first order.

TSSDNCOP · 18/09/2014 17:50

I worry that the Tuk a Fuk flag is starting to look a bit busy.

Although I like the new anthem. Rousing. Can be sung on roller skates wearing leg warmers whilst pointing. What's not to like.

Legionofboom · 18/09/2014 17:50

Ididnt I think it could be a first Grin

Of course if Scotland stays where it is and the English/Welsh bit floats away we could be back at being stuck with Calais.

YeGodsAndLittleFishes · 18/09/2014 17:48

Is it Lorrain Kelly in that advert I just saw with them all dancing around in a shop? I like that. We can keep that?

Ididntseeitsoitdidnthappen · 18/09/2014 17:47

I wonder if anyone has tried to physically detach two nations before...

I can bring a shovel

FoxSticks · 18/09/2014 17:45

Banishing Frankie Boyle and Gillian Mckieth are big pluses.
