...is something my 18 month old daughter has started exclaiming, quite loudly and gaily when we're out and about. Hmm

No idea what she's trying to say!

Can I suggest that those of you with little ones, especially if you have more than one of them, gets a notebook and writes down these remarks. And who to attribute them to. We have various 'wrong' pronunciations that have stuck in our family but I can't always remember which boy said which one. I did keep a notebook (years ago when 3 of them were learning to talk) but I'm not sure which box it is in)

e.g.guggles for cuddles (ds1)
namba for ambulance (ds3 or 2)
mama for Papa (nephew)
nee-naws, buses and nars (a very excited nephew when he arrived at transport museum and saw all the fire appliances, buses and cars)
buntons (buttons, in a particular museum - favourite haunt of ds1 and his dad when I was sleeping off night shifts)
There are others but it's awful how little I can recall. I must find that notebook ...

We were called into nursery to discuss why my 2 year old was saying fuck you! The shame of desperately trying to tell them that it was her trying to say thank you!!!!

fledtoscotland · 20/08/2014 13:57

This thread is bring back memories of ds1's speech. He had disordered speech development which meant he could say helicopter but not milk. He always asked for cow juice which made perfect sense just sounded slightly odd.

He did however say fuck instead of fork for about a month which was interesting

wantacatplease · 20/08/2014 13:50

"I'm bumming you!" Grin

And wet wipes will be forever referred to as "wee washers".

ElloGuvnor · 20/08/2014 13:17

Onion ring crisps are still known as 'dog bums' in our house. As in "Nanny don't eat ALL the dog bums"

friedeggs · 20/08/2014 12:54

cock porn, brilliant, all our office are rolling about with laughter

my little one says c's for p's - so we get 'I want to go to the clay cark' or he wants a 'care' - took me ages to realise he was saying pear

fullilly enough he can say Peppa Pig tho!!

AlwaysaLittleBitTired · 20/08/2014 12:45

"CockyCock" was dd's 'chocolate' - cue embarrassed teenage waitress at local pub when she asked which flavour ice-cream dd would like!

"F**k" = fog (that was a funny walk around the neighbourhood whilst asking her to repeat it endlessly for my own amusement !)

Grin
fanoftheinvisibleman · 20/08/2014 12:17

across the bum, not across the bum with bum!

fanoftheinvisibleman · 20/08/2014 12:16

Ds used to shout "XXXXis bumming you!" whilst slapping you across the bum with bum with a toy. Always in public obviously! Grin

Plockplock · 20/08/2014 12:13

DS loves Playdoh. Unfortunately his love for it does not extend to correct pronunciation; well he is only 21 months old. This is fine at home when he requests it, not so fine when he excitedly alerts us to its presence in public: "Peedo. Peedo. Uck (look) peedo." (spelt as said) Have waited for the ground to open up, it never happens, so I just try and pretend he's not mine/I've not heard, etc!

PeanutJelly · 20/08/2014 11:58

I said my bf babies poo smelled whiffy the other day like cottage cheese ... my little girl top of her voice shouts euwwww cock cheese what's that smell like!?? #jawonfloor!!! COTTAGE I SAID COTTAGE!!!

YaMasYaDaWithAWigOn · 20/08/2014 11:39

My older DS plays on Xbox and frequently exclaims things are "freaking awesome" in a faux American accent.

Younger DS aged 2 tried to copy but it unfortunately came out as "fucking arsehole" Blush

Girlsbrigadewashorrible · 20/08/2014 10:13

My DS called his grandparents Bugger and Bugger for two years. To their faces. :)

306235388 · 20/08/2014 10:03

Dd still asks to go on the alligator (escalator) at the shopping centre.

CommanderShepard · 20/08/2014 09:47

DD asked me to 'cunt it up my carrot' the other day.

joosiewoosie · 20/08/2014 08:45

My DD says 'Pleep well' for sleep well. So cute.

zonkmeister · 19/08/2014 21:58

My favourite one from my DD (2 1/2) at the moment is grown-up coming out as 'donut' - mummy you're a donut, daddy is a donut, I'm not a donut I'm a big girl!

boobiejuice · 19/08/2014 21:29

My eldest used to call dinosaur's shineynores and dodotch were yoghurts. We were coming home from town on a winters afternoon and he overheard someone swearing on the bus he then started to tell me (whilst gazing innocently out of the window) "mummy look, stars and moons and fucking hell" the 2 old dears in front of us nearly fell off their seats!

Apparently I used to say cocky for poo and I would point and shout "feedie babies " when I saw large breasted women :-D

GermyJamie · 19/08/2014 21:18

DS calls All Bran 'Brown Hole'.

bopoityboo3 · 19/08/2014 20:54

Not really a mispronunciation but dd used to shout 'boobberries' and point at my nipples any time she saw me getting changed. This was when she was 3 now that she's 5 we have the fun of her miss hearing things so the other week she told me very seriously at the end of a church service that she really enjoyed 'holly chameleon'.

MrsMarigold · 19/08/2014 20:42

today my three year old told me he was going somando - I was a bit perplexed but it turned out he meant commando. Odd he remembered the word, I only said it once about six weeks ago.

icanmakeyouicecream · 19/08/2014 18:45

'I want some cock porn please!!'

When my DS was about 2.5. He meant pop corn. Would shout it in Sainsbury's/Post Office/Library. Basically anywhere that would cause most embarrassment for me, obviously.

ghostmous3 · 19/08/2014 18:35

Could she be trying to say horses maybe
