The Beginning

The Middle

The end?

So... Long story short... There are horses, soon there should not be (I'm not good at summaries, they make me sound unreasonable).

We have a date! This Saturday! The horses should be taken away to pastures new, so we can roam the meadow in gingham dresses (dh looks good in a gingham dress) and we can have FuckYouFestivals to our heart's content.

There will be choirs and drums and bands and weapons and stackable goats and so much more!

Anyone who's read the threads knows I love a lurker. I can you see you out there. Go on, jump in while the thread's all new and shiny. You know you want to Wink

MTB :) why thank you. I can't believe it might actually be tomorrow!

I just had a (one sided) conversation with the puppy where I promised to let her run wild in the field on Sunday :)

MTBMummy · 14/02/2014 15:15

Another lurker here - so glad you have a date!

I shall be raising a glass of something non- alcoholic (very pregnant) to salute your victory on Saturday

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 14/02/2014 15:01

Mistle, I have a confession, earlier when you said this thread was an excellent example of a good derailment I couldn't work out what you meant Blush I thought, "but it was always about the horses and RL and UW and the field and the goats and the cheesecake and the festiv... Hang on a minute, no it wasn't!"

You see this thread has been so much about finding a positive spin on a difficult situation that I'd kind of forgotten it wasn't just a thread about FYF and lovely mumsnetters partying on down as though 'twere 1999.

That's my confession for the day :)

Hurray! Madcatlady :) thank you very much! Dd2 has just learnt to blow raspberries, if UW comes to the door I'll let her loose.

Thinking of you Chris, hoping +++ it all goes well tomorrow
de-lurking

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 14/02/2014 14:52

Ida, Grin of course! The scarf will be draped "artistically".

Jux, I would love that! RL suddenly nudging me and whispering, "I got this sorted for the FYF, keep me posted"

Inadvertent marmalade is the best kind of marmalade! Send it on over!

You can borrow dh in return :)

OP posts:
Jux · 14/02/2014 14:34

Phew! Caught up. Classics eh? I want a face which is a non-descript colourful blob, it sounds unmissable, and reminds me of dd painting my face when she was about 3. I had to go home on the bus like it. I have no shame

FYC, my favourite colour is green. Can I borrow your dh, just for the purpose of ear-ring pirchases of course. You can have him back after, I promise.

Frying-pan cake sounds fantastic. I shall be doing that when we go camping later this year.

I shall be eating a lot of alcoholic cupcakes at FYF. As I don't normally drink alcohol expect shenanigan. You may have to shut me in one of the turdises.

I have inadvertently made marmalade. Would you like some Inadvertent Marmalade at FYF?

I do hope RL is reading this thread and turns up with the horse box wearing the scarf!

IdaBlankenship · 14/02/2014 14:28

Not completely naked Chris, wearing your horse scarf surely?

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 14/02/2014 14:26

It seems to have died down a but here. Not the constant shrieking anymore at least.

Grin

We have wind and rain here atm but nowhere near as bad as other parts of the country. I think we get a certain amount of protection from the Pennines, we only ever seem to get the tail end of any bad weather, usually later and not quite as bad as other areas.

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 14/02/2014 14:17

Deja, hurrah! :) hopefully I'll be full of champagne by then and running around the field naked in celebration

I probably won't, it's a bit nippy out

OP posts:
DejaVuAllOverAgain · 14/02/2014 14:10

I've just remembered, I should be able to log in on my phone later on at night when everybody is asleep assuming I don't run out of data that is so won't have to wait until Sunday.

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 14/02/2014 14:07

Deja Grin

OP posts:
FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 14/02/2014 14:07

Dejavu, I know people keep saying they're sorry they might miss it, but (I'm sorry) I really hope you do! Grin sorry you've got to work so long. There should be a way you can phone in "awaiting an mn update".

OP posts:
DejaVuAllOverAgain · 14/02/2014 14:07

I need to stress, I don't feed the cup-cakes to children,

You can feed them to mine if you want as they're 19 and 21 Grin

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 14/02/2014 14:05

Littletabby, those are extremely useful skills. I've never had an alcoholic cupcake, but it sounds fantastic. And the forts are very useful too. You can practise your parenting on my lot. I'm a giver Grin

I've been meaning to make alcoholic gummy bears for years, but I've never had the occasion. Maybe FYF is it!

Ida, I know what you mean.

OP posts:
DejaVuAllOverAgain · 14/02/2014 14:04

The good news is I've finally caught up Grin

The bad news is dependant on the time the horses go tomorrow I may miss it and have to wait until Sunday. I'm due to spend 24 hours at work from tomorrow afternoon and as it takes me at least 1 1/2 hours to get to work, sometimes more depending on bus timings, I won't be here.

FYC love your post about your DH and the earrings Grin

Now all I have to do is decide which colour scarf to get Hmm

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 14/02/2014 14:02

Jux! I know it well. Perfect!

Mistle, the evolution of FYF has been a most wondrous thing to be a part of really want FYF to be real against all common sense

OP posts:
IdaBlankenship · 14/02/2014 14:01

If this festival doesn't actually take place I shall be a bit bereft. We should at least have a virtual festival on the day in question (in case of rain)

Littletabbyocelot · 14/02/2014 14:01

I am also delurking. Have been reading this thread since the very beginning and have kept meaning to delurk (I actually joined to delurk) but have yet to think of a skill to bring to FYF.

Erm... I know lots of nursery rhymes and build really good cushion forts for children to hide in, is that useful? And my littlies aren't due till June, so if FYF is before that I'll probably be all excited to get practice (though may need my DH to actually build the forts).

Also, I make very nice alcoholic cup-cakes. Well, they always get eaten but alcoholic cup-cakes would wouldn't they? I need to stress, I don't feed the cup-cakes to children, these are separate skills.

Possibly clutching at straws with these ideas, but I really want to be let on the thread and to send positive vibes for tomorrow.

Jux · 14/02/2014 13:58

Horse with no name! Perfect song

"I've been through the desert on a horse with no name,
It felt good to be out of the rain....."

Big hit for a band called America.

(Just had to throw that in, now I'll get back to catching up)

mistlethrush · 14/02/2014 13:57

Who was it that made the suggestion on the thread then? I simply reported that comment (ie supporting the poster that said it). I thought it might be you... perhaps not?

I do, however, think that it is a really, really good example of derailment that has happily co-existed alongside the original problem - and probably helped lighten the original doom and gloom etc - so next time someone (not on this thread I hasten to add) suggests someone's derailing a thread on purpose and that they should desist I shall be pointing them in this direction.

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 14/02/2014 13:57

Nanny, everyone's so blooming nice on this thread :)

OP posts:
Nanny0gg · 14/02/2014 13:52

We were hoping to move the location to classics if that's alright with you!

I do like the cut of your jib FYC!

mistlethrush I'm just claiming credit for the suggestion/prediction, not the actualite - that acclaim clearly goes to you!

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 14/02/2014 13:45

Mistle Grin good to see romance ain't dead.

That's a good point. It's UW we need keeping away, and forget the trolls, anyone with 4 legs and a long face will need some serious questioning.
